**Elena**

“Lira, you’re such a damn flirt.”I muttered under my breath.

Why was she wagging her tail like that? Acting like Xavier was the sun and she was a flower?

I shook my head, trying to stay focused.

“Control yourself, girl.” I was trying to be cautious. But my stupid wolf had other ideas.

I stole a glance at Xavier…well, at his wolf. Strong. Soaked in rain. Golden-brown fur shining under the moonlight. His eyes, sharp and focused, were staring right at me.

“Oh no,” I thought, panic rising.

The realisation hit me.

How do I get out of this?

I left my mask back there. behind the back corridor, probably soaked or buried now.

If I shift back… he’ll see my face.

What if he realizes I’m not Helena?

Suddenly, he shifted. Right in front of me. Bones cracking, fur vanishing, and then..there he was. Human again. Standing tall, shirtless, drenched. Hair stuck to his forehead, some strands falling into his eyes.

His voice cut through the rain. Low. Rough. A little pissed.

**Xavier**I watched as she dragged her wounded legs through the quiet halls, her steps uneven. The rain outside tapped against the windows in a quiet rhythm. Her body seemed to follow it. The corridor lights flickered faintly, casting dull gold streaks across her soaked figure. Her shirt clung to her like a second skin. Every curve, barely hidden.Damn it.Why wasn’t she wearing anything underneath?I bit down the growl that rose in my throat, hands clenched at my sides. I wasn’t supposed to care. But my legs moved on their own. My voice came out before I could stop it.“Wait. I’ll help you,” I said, reaching her in a few fast strides. She didn’t even look at me. Just kept walking, limping really, like I was the last person on earth she wanted to see.“I don’t need your help… Alpha Xavier.”“Yeah, yeah. I know you’ll say that.” I growled.I caught her arm gently, but firmly enough so she’d stop. She glared at me over her shoulder.“I’m not going to listen to your nags,” she snapped

**Xavier**Where the hell is she going?I muttered under my breath, ignoring Trisha’s annoying voice.“Xavy. Baby. Can you hear me? I’m still here. Hello?” she whined.“Be quiet.”I waved her off, eyes fixed on Helena. Why is she sneaking out? Why do I even care? But my body moved before my brain. I was out the door. Following her.Rain poured like crazy. And she was out in it like it meant nothing. She stopped. Then shifted into her wolf. What the fuck? Her wolf… it looked like Elena’s.Bila growled.I stayed hidden. Watching her wild wolf run into the woods. The moon still shone through the rain, lighting her up.Damn. She looked… hot. Like a dangerous little cat.Get it together, Xavier. We agreed to stay away. No getting close. No falling again.Bila didn’t give a damn. He was already pushing forward.“Stop it. That’s not Elena. That’s her sister. Don’t be stupid.”Then I saw where she was headed. My heart jumped.No. No. Not that way.“Helena!” I shouted. “Don’t go that way! Th

**Elena**I drop to the floor. The pain in my stomach came again. Maybe it was the way I landed. Or maybe it was everything.Who the hell is doing this? And why?Why now?I grabbed a fistful of my hair, my head bowed over my knees. It felt like I’d lost a battle before even stepping onto the field.“I give up,” I whispered, then screamed it. “I GIVE UP!”My voice bounced off the walls. No one answered back.Xavier. Why was he doing this to me?A few days ago, I thought we were finally… something. A flicker of connection. A spark. Maybe even trust. But now?He didn’t text back. He didn’t call. He didn’t ask for me. He came back and went straight to Trisha.Trisha.How many ways is he planning to break me?Was that his plan all along? Push me until I shatter? Is he even thinking about me right now? Does he care?Or was I just… convenient? And Mortina. Could she be behind this? Did she try to finish what she started—with my father this time? But why? What does she gain?I'm covering for

**Elena**"How long has he been here?" I asked one of the nurses as I stopped by the doorway.“About three days now, Your Highness,” she replied quickly.Three days?"And no one came to see him?" I asked again, needing to hear it one more time, just in case. She shook her head. “No. No one. He was dropped off by a woman. Since then, no visitors.”My stomach turned.Mortina. She left him.Just like that?I bit the inside of my cheek. A bitter memory flashed—Dad standing tall, his voice firm as he told me, "She’s your mother, Elena. Show some respect. She knows what’s best for you."Best for me?She used to glare at me like I was a stain. I still tried to win her over. I still tried to be good. And now... she left you, Dad.The woman you always defended. She walked away when you needed her most. The door opened, and a female doctor walked in briskly.“Doctor,” I said before she could speak, “I want to transfer him. Withdraw him from this hospital.”She blinked, caught off guard. “Your H

**Elena**It ended after one ring.Weird.I tried again. This time, nothing. Not even a single buzz.Did he block me?No... no, that can’t be it. Maybe he’s just busy. Something urgent, maybe?I stared at my phone screen. Still no reply. I hated the silence.I sighed, and typed a quick message."Hey. Just called to know if you're fine."Sent.I didn’t wait for a reply. I turned and headed to my room. My heart was too restless to sit still.I changed out of my gown into something simpler. More... normal. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Dad. Maybe going back would help me clear my head. Maybe I’d find something... anything... answers about Helena.Something felt off lately. One hour later, I slipped through the entrance gate.Everything was... still. Too still. No guards. No voices. Just the wind. It didn’t feel like home anymore."My Queen," a maid greeted me, bowing lightly.I nodded quickly. “Where’s my father?” I asked. My voice came out too fast. Before she could respond..“W
