And just like that, the ceremony began.

Dylan was already standing at the altar and everyone else rose to their feet as Hazel and dad walked in.

Everybody had their eyes on the couple as they stood in front of the congregation exchanging their vows but the groom kept stealing glances at me as I stood at the extreme end behind Hazel holding her bouquet of flowers.

Throughout the ceremony Dylan and I kept stealing glances at each other.

And every single time our eyes met, my stomach tightened. It felt like we were communicating intensely and intimately through our eyes. And immediately, that felt so wrong.

My sister was literally standing right there in front of him. His wife. But somehow his eyes kept wandering towards mine

And the worst part, he wouldn't look away until I did.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife” was the next thing that I heard the pastor say and somehow that made me feel some type of way, not in a good way, which made no sense at all.

The crowd is going crazy, everybody's cheering on the newly Wed, family and friends are excited and wishing the couple well, as they should, but there was no feeling of excitement in me.

“You just witnessed my sister get married, you should be happy” I thought to myself.

But that feeling wasn't there. I tried to be, but all I kept seeing was his face in my head and replaying how we kept glancing at each other throughout the ceremony.

The reception followed immediately and everyone had their eyes on the couple but somehow the groom's eyes kept wandering looking for me.

Everything went as it should, everybody had a good time and it was starting to get dark out, guests were starting to leave when one of Hazel's bridesmaids got sick due to the amount of alcohol she had consumed throughout the day. Luckily, Hazel and Dylan saw her and immediately rushed to help her.

That was when Hazel called me and asked to help the bridesmaid up to one of the rooms where she could rest properly. But I was unable to assist her myself as she was barely conscious.

As I was looking around the room trying to find another hand to help,

Hazel turned to Dylan

“Uh, babe, do you mind assisting Sophie please, please please, my love?” She said with a soft voice.

“Oh, no it's fine Haze” I replied immediately, before Dylan even had a chance to respond.

“I would find someone else, you both go ahead, I would talk to one of the staff around, it's okay I promise” I added.

“Yes babe, I don't mind,” Dylan replied, looking right at me.

Before I could even utter another word, he leaned a little and carried the bridesmaid in his arms.

“Oh..” I whispered under my breath.

“Shall we?” He said.

“Sure,” I replied with a soft smile.

“Hazel, come here” Kylie yelled for her right outside.

“Yeah, coming” She replied, as we all left the hall together.

Neither of us said a word to each other while we were headed to the room, even when we got there.

I stood by the door, while he walked to the bed and laid her down.

And as soon as he did, he faced me, looking me dead in the eyes with the same intensity when we were standing in the corridor earlier.

Immediately, I looked away and broke eye contact with him.

Just as I was about to walk out the door, “you've been avoiding me all day” was the next thing I heard

I froze.

My heart sank to my stomach. I just stood there and closed my eyes not knowing what was going to happen next.

He scoffed.

But I didn't turn around.

“So you have been avoiding me all day Sophie. Hmm, I wonder why” he continued.

I faced him with a big fake smile on my face, “Absolutely not Dylan. Why would you think that I was?” I replied. Still smiling.

Then, he started walking towards me.

Slowly.

“Oh really?” he said softly, loosening his tie around his neck getting even closer to me.

“So why did it feel like you wanted to disappear when you saw me in the hallway earlier”

“I don't know what you're talking about”

“Then tell me why I haven't been able to get you out of my head all day since I saw you”

“I don't know what..” I couldn't finish my sentence

He was standing right in front of me with his eyes fixed on me

“You shouldn't be this close to me, there's someone literally behind us”

He didn't listen. He got even closer.

I lowered my eyes immediately and as I tried to step away, he placed his hand against the door completely blocking my path.

My body froze.

“Dylan.. What are you doing?”

“Everything about you is driving me crazy, I don't know what's happening to me”

“What do you mean you don't know?

“You just got married.. to my sister” I whispered shakily.

Then I looked up at him. His eyes looked like he wanted to devour me right there

I could feel his breath softly on my face

I didn't look away either.

“I.. We.. Someone could walk in” I stuttered looking completely lost in his gaze.

“Shut up” he whispered very softly

Putting his hand around my neck and squeezing lightly

I moaned, softly

“Wh.. What are you trying to do” I said, trembling.

He squeezed my neck even tighter.

I struggled to breathe.

Then he lifted his hands from the door and placed it on my thigh

Caressing it slowly moving upward my legs

“Fuck, Pl.. Dylan, please stop” struggling to get my words out.

And he smirked. Wickedly. And took his hand off my neck

Like he got what he wanted.

I just stood there embarrassed that I let myself get played with.

But before I could say anything, the bridesmaid made a noise from the bed.

I pushed him off immediately and he smirked again and walked out of the room.

“Ugh, my head.. My head hurts” she said, trying to get up.

I rushed towards her, gave her the glass of water by the bedside and she passed out again almost immediately.

I sat there for a while, still, trying to process what had just happened.

Then my phone rang. It was an unknown caller

I answered and it was Hazel, asking me to come back down as they were about leaving for their hotel.

“Tell me you want me” he whispered very softly into my ear. “I.. Dylan.. Ple.. Please, we really shouldn't do this” I struggled to get my words out with my breath shaking under my voice. “You're shaking” he said softly as he placed his hand on the side of my neck stroking gently with his thumb locking his eyes onto mine, dark and steady, refusing to let me look away. “I'm not” He smirked wickedly. I lowered my eyes immediately. “Tell me you want me.. Sophie. I want to hear you say it” he whispered again to my ear. He lifted my face slightly, forcing me to keep my eyes on his. Every part of my body screamed “I want you” but I couldn't bring myself to form the words out of my mouth. Guilt twisted tight in my chest and all I saw was Hazel's face flash behind my eyes and I pulled away immediately and turned my back against him. “You need to go.. Please” I said sharply He scoffed softly. I didn't see his face but I heard him. “Why don't you look me in my

“Is somebody going to say something? Anything?” she pressed further “Well damn, if we tell you, it's not going to be a surprise anymore. So no, you don't need to know what it is.. Yet” I said smiling “Babe? You too?” she faced Dylan “I'm sorry baby, I'm going to have to agree with Sophie” he answered. “Oh.. Look at you two, plotting and whatnot and you just got here okay nice!” she laughed softly. The smile on my face faded immediately. I looked at Dylan briefly and looked away. I tapped on my chest like I was choking on something trying to clear it. “Pardon my manners Caleb, would you like anything?” Hazel turned to Caleb “I'm so sorry, I had a long day today, it's like I'm not functioning properly” she added, chuckling. “Oh no no, I'm okay. I should be on my way now in fact. I only wanted to make sure I dropped Sophie here by myself” he said “Aw isn't that sweet” she said looking at me trying to tease me. I rolled my eyes at her. Caleb scoffed lightly “Al

For a second, I wondered if it was a coincidence that I got a text from Dylan and a call from Hazel almost immediately. Could Hazel have been behind both phones? Maybe Dylan had said something to her about me while they were on their honeymoon? Could this be Dylan messing with me? Am I being paranoid or overthinking shit like I always do? My brain was working overtime. As I was going to swipe right to pick up the call, it dropped. I was too late. Then almost immediately she called again, and I answered. “Hey you! Where did you keep your phone? I've been calling you” Hazel said, sounding normal, just like she would on any other day. “My bad, I was just getting my things together. I didn't see the phone ring the first time” “Okay. Well, we just landed a while ago and we're on our way home right now. Just wanted to let you know so you can come whenever you're ready” She yawned. “God! I'm so tired” “Aw sorry, you sound so tired. Yeah I would be there later in the nig

The moment the door clicked shut behind Dylan, I let out a frustrated groan. What the hell have I gotten myself into? I dropped back onto my bed and buried my face in my hands. “There's still time Sophie, just say you changed your mind and move to Colorado” I thought to myself. “Sophie!” Hazel yelled my name from downstairs “Ugh what now?” I murmured, still laying on the bed with my face still buried in my hands. “Don't make me come up there and get you myself now Sophie! Get down here” she added. I got up and stormed out “What.. what?” I yelled back as I went downstairs She just stood there smiling at me as I approached her. “Well..?” I said now standing in front of her. The smile on her face didn't fade, mom and dad too were smiling too.Dylan was in the living room talking with Kylie. “Are you going to talk or just keep smiling at me?” I said out of frustration “Okay okay..” she chuckled. “So.. He agreed” she said, squeaking in excitement. “Who agreed? And to what?” I

“Well, is everything alright girls?” mom asked. “Yeah yeah sure, all good” I answered as went towards the dining where she was and Hazel went to meet Dylan and the rest of the fam in the living room. “Hm, Sophie, are you sure you're okay sweetheart?” she asked further stopping what she was doing and looked at me. “Mom, yes I'm okay. Please” “Alright then. Help me finish setting up here will you” We set the table and everyone came gathered together for lunch. I sat opposite Dylan and Hazel sat beside him. Mom and dad were at both ends of the table and Kylie was beside me. I kept noticing Dylan taking glances at me through the corner of my eyes but not once did I look at him. I wanted to, but the whole family was right there, I couldn't risk getting caught staring at my sister's husband. After we were done eating, still sitting at the dining, Hazel called for everyone's attention. “So, that was delicious.” she said “Ugh, so so good” Kylie agreed. “But, I
