Roseanna and James spent a month at Allison's house before heading to the beach with their friends for nearly three weeks.

While James is already employed by Allison's firm, Phillip is establishing his own while attending law school. Phillip had been so preoccupied with his studies that he rarely left the hotel during their time at the beach. He was always reading books, law books, and Roseanna was always there to support him. Roseanna pays visits to Phillip on his pad to cook for him because he has been sleeping poorly due to his studies.

Roseanna's birthday is quickly approaching. Roseanna had forgotten what James had said to her at the party because she had been so preoccupied with Phillip and her studies. Roseanna is running for Valedictorian for their class, and she believes and feels that this will be her happiest year yet.
