Roseanna is exhausted despite doing nothing but lying in her bed. She has known about her father for months. She's so preoccupied with discovering who she is that she doesn't realize it's already Holiday. She has lost interest in going to school, but even when she does come, she will not listen to anything. A month ago, she was summoned by the dean, who informed her that she is on the verge of failing to become Valedictorian.

Everyone around her is prepping for Christmas Eve. Everyone is happy, except for her, who feels nothing but laziness.

"Roseanna? Someone left these at the door with your name written on a card," one of their helpers said.

Someone always leaves a bouquet of Daisy's flowers on their doorstep after her birthday.
