Chapter 19. Caramel

CARAMEL

As I sat there in the dimly lit basement, my heart pounded loudly in my chest. The air was thick with an eerie silence, broken only by the sound of my own shallow breaths and the distant drip of water. I could feel the dried blood on the corner of my lips, a constant reminder of the brutality that I faced in this place, when the abductor was angry that his plans, fell through.

My wrists were raw and stinging from the rough ropes that bound me tightly to the chair. Every moment that ticked by felt like an eternity, with each passing second intensifying my fear. The abductor had left me alone for now, but I couldn't shake the dread that washed over me, suffocating my thoughts.
