Esthers POV;
I woke up this morning in a bad mood. It wasn't exactly a bad mood, I woke up like every normal person and when I remembered last night, my mood strongly became sore.
I head to my dressing mirror and stare the impact of his slap on my now numb cheek. It's a bit swollen and my eyes are red from crying last night. It's only a deep red line that is visible on my face.
One of the down sides of being fair is the fact that the slightest injury displays it self on your skin like an award.
I head into the bathroom, take my bath and carry out most of my morning rituals before coming out of the restroom. I put on a hood and a thight pair of jeans. I pack my braids in a pony tail and I am ready for the day.
I apply *Aboniki to my face. I don't just like this balm cause of it's powerful effect, but because of it's powerful smell and pepry
Authors Narrative; It's been three days since Esther and Derricks fall out and Esther suddenly begins to feel weak. For some reason, she find pleasure in sleeping longer than usual and has even started putting on some weight. For example her cheeks have started becoming chubbier and round. She also fears she might have developed a bladder problem as she is constantly feeling the need to use the restroom. She has so many times scheduled an appointment with her family doctor but laziness has always held her back. Well, campus would be resuming soon and it's going to be hello freedom for her. She surely can't wait. Derrick is sitting alone at a table in a grand restaurant. He is wearing an amazing brown tuxedo with clean polished shoes and looks like he is waiting for someone. He is nervously rubbing his hands against each other. He lifts his head and fi
It's about 9:00pm and the whole Adebayo family had gone to bed. The silence is suddenly disturbed by a loud cry. "No, no, no please don't do it! It was a mistake. This is a misunderstanding. It's not what you think.... Calm down!! " Esther and her father run over to Derricks room where the noise is coming from. Although Esther is mad at her brother, she still cares for the pompous tyrant. She runs into the room and over to her elder brothers bed where he is screaming and trashing. He is having another nightmare. She begins to scream his name as she shakes him violently. She keeps shaking him in hopes to wake him. Her brother might be a tyrant but she still very much loves him. She can't recall the last time Derrick had gone through this. He struggled with illusions and pain for a long time after a horrid incident in his life, but everyone thoug
Narrators Narrative; "Lisa, thanks for letting me in. "Derrick says with his head on Lisas laps and her gentle fingers running through his hair. "What did you expect? You're my boyfriend. My apple pie. "She says smiling down at him before planting a tender kiss on his lips. "Lisa, can I ask you something? "He questions. "Sure. Anything. "She states and he breathes in deeply as his mind races around his scattered thoughts. "Have you ever felt like the person you once loved being has been wickedly striped away from you by a cruel game life chose to play on you..... And then, there seems to be no remedy than to become a beast.... "Derrick begins to explain. "And although you are sure your new found anger and relief would bring you peace, you know it's only temporary and your pain would always come back to taunt you." Lisa finishes and
"Sorry about that. "Dayo apologizes as soon as he assumes his seat. "Oh, it's nothing. What happened? "Esther replies and inquires about the little showdown she just watched. "Apperantly, the boy tried to cheat Temi out of her turn by harshly pushing her off the ride and you know no one messes with Temi when Bukola is around. "Dayo replies with a proud smile. "Well he messed with a tigress. "Esther replies with a little laugh. "Yeah. She's just like her mom. "Dayo adds. His gaze fixed in admiration on his eldest daughter. "You never really talk about her. "Esther notes. "Who? "Dayo questions coming back to the room. "Your late wife. "Esther clarifies. "Oh, that's beause no one's asked or seems ready to listen. "Dayo replies with a bitter sm
Derrick is in his living room at home watching the television when his father comes in whistling and twirling around like a little girl doing a corigrapy. Derrick stares at his father in confussion. If he didn't know better, he'd say this isn't his father but a double ganger. He hasn't seen his father this happy in a VERY long time. "Dad, is everything okay? "Derrick can't help but question his father. "My dear boy, all is beyond fine." His father replies and Derrick smiles in bewilderment. "I may have finally found what I need to fill the void in my soul." His father adds and Derrick raises his brows. "Age is just a number isn't it? " Mr. Adebayo suddenly questions. Taking a sip from the glass of chilled wine in his hands. "Well... Yes... Age is just a number and maturity is not about number. "Derrick rep
Esther bursts into Dayos living room and finds the two girls crying by his unconscious and hopefully not dead body. The girls run to her crying and she tells them to stand back as she moves over to Dayos body. She taps around his body till she finds an inhaler in the inner pocket of his jacket. She holds his head up and release two puffs of its content into his mouth but he still doesn't wake up. She orders Bukola to get a her a bowl of water out of which she sprinkles on Dayos face but he still doesn't wake up. Her panic hits sky limit as all sorts of thoughts rush into her mind. Is he dead? These dear girls can't afford to loose their only parent. She calls Derrick again for like the hundredth time but as usual she goes straight to voicemail. She drops her phone in panic and confussion. Wondering what to do when suddenly an idea hits her.
Lisa and Derrick are on their way home from the cinema, and Derrick can't help but leave his gaze glued on the light skinned beauty walking elegantly beside him. They get into Derricks car and Derrick contemplates the emotions running about in his head. 'Should I do this? Should I not? "Will you marry me? "The words sneak through Derricks lips without his consent and Lisa freezes. "Pardon? "She questions in shock. Derricks POV; I just asked Lisa to get married to me. Believe it or not, I am just as shocked as she is. This was meant to be a hit and quit mission not a hit and trip mission! I have fallen for Lisa. Badly. And It hurts my ego to admit this but this tender spoiled brat has got me into a mental and emotional war. "W.. Will you marry me, Lisa? "I question again. This time decid
Esthers POV; I wake up feeling lazy. My vision rests on a white wooden celling and I know I'm not home as all cellings back home are PVCs. I turn my head lazily and find Dayo sitting in a chair staring at me. I look down at myself and find that I'm still in my jeans and top. I take one look around the room and realize I'm in a hospital! "Wh... What happened? "I question in fatigue and confussion as I last recall being in Dayos car with he and his kids. "Y... You fainted." Dayo replies and I stare blankly at him. Fainted? What could have caused it? "Where are the girls? "I question as I realize they aren't here and conclude that I just fainted out of stress. I have been feeling nauseous the past few days. Maybe I haven't been getting enough rest. "I sent them off with their aunt." Dayo replies and I nod as I try to get off the bed
