LOGINLina's POV:
[The Hotel = The Parking Lot]
I wanted to change.
Ever since I could remember, an intimate contact with a man was torture.
Literally.
My skin would hardened because of goosebumps, and I'd freeze.
It was annoying and the cause of my break up with Princeton.
I had no idea why I was like that but I wanted to change so bad.
I figured a change of environment might help. I thought I'd find a therapist - a specialist - someone - anyone that'd help.
In a way, I found him. The devil.
"Why him?" I muttered, my palms tightening on the steering wheel.
The city light that spilled through the windshield was blurry because of my watery eyes.
But something was clear. Riven. His touch.
Damn! I gritted my teeth and I moved in the driver seat.
My little mission at the bar ended in a disgusting way. I found nothing about Riven's watch. But something about my body.
It reacted normally to his touch. His fingers against my neck was warm.
For a cold hearted bastard, he melted my insides with his hands.
"That didn't happen" For the uptenth time, I sighed out.
A palm slid off the steering then ruffled my hair. As locs of brown curtained my face, I wished it'd veil what just happened. Hide it rather.
I got caught in that kinda position with my soon to be step brother.
"Fuck!" Enraged, I cursed then slammed a fist on the steering.
But that wasn't the only thing that got slammed.
"Jesus!" My gasp blended with a thud.
It came from outside. From the man I just rammed into it.
Fuck this.
Sharply, I slammed the brakes and soon, I was outside.
The cool breeze didn't hit as hard as the sight.
"I'm so sorry!" My scream pierced the silent night. No like I gave a darn. I just ran over an old man!
I rushed forward but he already rose from the asphalt.
"You're loud, young lady" His chuckle was calm, and so was his expression.
The moonlight bathed his bald head, and the gentle smile on his face.
"And you barely hit me; you drove so slow"
"I'm sorry!" Still, I repeated as my chest rose and fell. Worry made my heart race so fast, and fear cautioned me.
I almost hit someone because I was thinking of Riven. Screw that devil!
"It's fine. Now carry on, young one" He smiled, the corners of his eyes crinkling.
I eased up and managed to force my own smile.
Afterwards, his gaze flicked to a side, and I watched him walk off.
"I'm sorry once more sir!" I yelled from behind.
He didn't look back, instead wriggle his cane.

[Throne Mansion]
My bones were heavy.
Maybe Riven's fiery touch had turned them to ash. Now, my skin felt weighted.
"Enough Lina" I drove my head back on the seat's headrest.
I needed to knock out these abominable memories. Fuck, every memory of Riven would be nice too.
I couldn't allow this happen again. Both meeting Princeton and Riven's touches.
His warm, deliberate, soft–
"Adelina!" Like a trapped maniac in a car, I cried out, my hand flying to my forehead.
It flew too hard, and my head ached.
"Shit.." I winced lowly while seating upright.
Okay, today needs to end with sleep. A nice, night's rest.
So I drove here, to the Throne Mansion since my bed was huge.
Soon, I alighted from the car then marched up the concrete stairs.
By the large doors, a server stood, ready to collect the car keys.
Oh, bougie.
I handed it to him then pushed the door open.
"Where have you been?" Ma's voice abused my ear drums immediately.
Jesus, I hadn't even taken one freaking step.
"College, Ma" I answered, too lazy to hide my irritation.
It couldn't be helped.
"That's why you didn't pick up your calls?"
"Yes. I was too busy trying to survive at a college where someone got their hands chopped off!" I snapped, and our glares collided.
Ma's softened too easily, and I knew what was next. Tears.
"Darling" Ma began, her folded hands dropping.
"I was worried about me" The long end of her robe dragged across the marble.
Same way she was dragging this.
"Ma, please"
"I almost went to the police but Ryker stoppe–"
"Can you not?!" I lashed out like a triggered dog. And I was triggered. By Mr Ryker's name. The existence of his stupid, dastard son. And even Ma's annoying ass.
"I'm trying so hard to act mature about your marriage to another man while Pa's murder hasn't been solved!"
My throat felt tight yet those words fell out freely. And I didn't regret it.
I clenched harder on the doorknob, and my nose scrunched.
"You moved on too fast, Ma. I haven't" My voice dropped to a whisper.
Ma's shoulders dropped too, and I turned around.
"Lina.."
I didn't look back. I just couldn't.
My eyes turned glassy but I saw the server by my car, ready to take it to the garage.
"Stop" But I didn't let him. I rushed down the stairs, collected my keys then slid into my car.
College couldn't be my heaven in this hell. And neither could this Mansion.
I'd need to build my own sanctuary but first, a place to sleep.
With that, I turned on the ignition then drove off.
Writer's POV[The Rykerthorn Mansion]Ryker had returned to a house - just like he had done for past years.A house. Not a home.Once he alighted from the car, one of the butlers should’ve run out. Well, a butler did scurry out, ready to take the car keys and park it in the garage. But trailing behind him was a maid. A very, very worried one. From her facial expression, Ryker guessed the reason. So, after he tossed the key, and now slouched, he strolled on the cobblestone.“Welcome back, Master.”He barely nodded to the greeting of the maid."The mistress had stopped crying a while ago" Again, the maid, now trailing behind him slowly. From the different, far angles of the mansion’s living room, the servants noticed their employer’s mood. Many guessed and concluded his shoulders were slacked because of weight.Yes, the weight of the soon-to-be Mrs. Rykerthorn's sadness. From Willow’s cries throughout the night, and early hours of the morning, they figured her daughter—the unseen Miss
Writer's POV:[Riven's Penthouse | The Courtyard]He'd never allow him.First, Riven would be damned to allow Ryker under his roof. Heck, no one had ever stepped in here and come out alive. No one except for… yeah, her.“I'll never allow you.” Ryker's gruff but calm voice came.He wasn't here for pleasantries, so he didn't try to step foot into the building. Besides, only God knew how many booby traps were laid there. So he stood in front of his car, adjusting the cuff of his suit.Riven was irked. Both by his old man's presence and the fact that he treated here like his boardroom. This was his fucking driveway, and he despised rodents on it.“You think I'd sit back and allow you to drag the image of my company down the drain with your attitude?” Ryker faced his son, a deep frown etched on his lips.Riven regarded the man in his early 50s with… awe.As he leaned against his bike, muscular arms folded underneath his chest, he smirked. The kind a king would give to a first-time, unfunn
Lina’s POV:I knew something wasn’t good. Maybe it was leaving Princeton at the brink of death.Or just… Riven. No reason but the sheer existence of Riven Rykerthorn.Something wasn’t good, but I needed a solid mind to think about that.My mind was melted by heat. Heat that dispersed from my chest, melting every ounce of strength in me.Riven’s mouth and tongue were the cause.“Pl…ea…se” I couldn’t feel my tongue. I couldn’t feel my own lips move. All I felt was pleasure mixed with a bit of pain.My head shakily lowered, eyes watching this bastard’s cruel mouth on my breast.Water rained down, enough to blur my vision, but I saw it clearly. I felt every fucking thing and—"Oh my!" I cried out at the abuse of my nipple. His teeth grazed it too harshly. Too sinfully. Yet so delicately."Hmm!"He detached his mouth, and not even water washed the redness away."Fuck" I heard Riven grunt, switching his attention to the other. He pulled the thin, wet shirt all the way to my collarbone, want
Lina’s POV:Something felt wrong. Way too wrong. And it wasn’t because of how quiet this place was. My consciousness had returned, yet I refused to open my eyes.My brain remembered everything – I got abducted twice. Yeah, the first abduction happened with Ma when she took me from the station. And the second, the most infuriating one, was with Princeton. That bloody bastard had never taken no for an answer.Back then, after my body tensed up whenever he touched me, I’d try to withdraw. He’d refuse, hell-bent on forcing things, and so I broke up with him. You’d think the breakup plus my move to LA would get him off my back. But no. He followed me here. Ugh!The abduction wasn’t completely unexpected. What I didn’t expect was the silence.Where did Princeton bring me to? Why was the silence so damn heavy? And most importantly, why did it smell like Riven?!Finally, but slowly, my eyes fluttered open.“Hmm,” I winced a bit since my head pounded dully.I tried to sit upright and, shocking
Riven's POV:[Evening = A Casino]I didn't need a doctor or even a nurse. I mean, laughter was said to be the best medicine, right? The only medication I needed to soothe the pain biting into my shoulder was...Yeah, laughter. And every time my daggers landed beside the whimpering bastard, I chuckled."I've... I've told you everything I know! I swear! Don't kill me!"Even his tearful rants were comical, and I kept throwing blades at him.Today had been... fun. A day filled with giving out torments and collecting cash was fun. What better way to end it than by visiting a casino and playing darts?"The wannabe biker gang are called The Viper Cell. How corny!" Whilst Niko scoffed, I twirled a dagger between my fingers. The space was filled with nothing but this amnesic fool's breaths and clatters."They even had the balls to attack The Grim Reaper." Another voice, more gravelly than Niko's, was heard."We should barge into whatever shithole they dwell in and kill them!" The voice yelled.
Lina's POV:[Late Morning – LAPD Station]I saw blue.Whenever I closed my eyes, all I could see was that darn color. It truly was a beautiful shade but when it was trapped in the orbs of Riven Rykerthorn? It was torture.Last night felt like a fever dream, and even awake, I still experienced the aftermath."I hate this" My groan was barely a sound, easily swallowed by the thud of my pen that spilled.Within today - within three minutes, my pen pen had slipped from my fingers. It rolled lazily across the desk like it was tired of my bullshit. Well, I, myself was sick and tired of so many bullshits.By that I meant Riven.I was the one who sprayed antiseptic in his eyes then why do my eyes burn so much.Maybe it was because I didn't sleep properly - Olivia kept asking questions, demanding to know why I lodged us in a hotel. She kept me awake all night.But.. that was a lie.My bestie's deserved rant wasn't the cause. The sweet curly head fell asleep after rambles.I couldn't sleep beca
