CHAPTER 27- He’s the Alpha

KYLIE's POV

The night air mixed with low dim light, giving an evening full of peace and tranquility, in the restaurant where Elijah and I ate. I know I said I was going to keep my distance, but I was unable to refuse him when he asked me to dinner after school.

"It's the weekend, Ky. Come dine with me. You don't even have to have a conversation with me, you can even pretend I'm not funny and charming," he said, and I raised a brow, fighting the urge to smile. But there was a crack in my cool demeanor, and Elijah caught it.

"fine. I said. But don't expect to have the time of your life." I told him.

But I was having a good time after all, because for all the ways I tried to keep Elijah at arm's length, I still always found myself feeling calm and safe in his presence.

"you know all the nicest places," I told him, looking around me. There were couples at different tables, some were having conversations, while some were eating their meals. And all of them looked at ease.

"Would you believ
