KYLIE'S POV

It took us two days to return to the pack land. Each of us carried a relic in our backpack, a testament to the crazy journey we had embarked on.

It was nighttime, so we were able to make it back to the pack house without being noticed. When we got there, we simultaneously made our way to Elijah's office to offload.

"I'm hoping this will be our last adventure," Jason said as he set down his backpack with a groan.

"If wishes were horses, mate," Elijah said and set down his back as well.

"What does that even mean?" Jason retorted.

"It means… I doubt that is going to be likely. But hey, never stop hoping, right?" Elijah said and flashed a smirk. He'd managed to find his spark on our way back. But I didn't bring up Liam. I reasoned that it wouldn't help.

Maybe someday, he would be able to talk about the brother he lost to war. But not right now.

"Right." Jason drew and collapsed on the chair.
