Chapter 21

It's been a week since Sarah had her scary encounter with my ex and her face was still bruised badly. She still would cry at night thinking we didn't hear her. Also she was having nightmares which she would wake screaming in the middle of the night. Jake and Jared would run to her and soothe her. She looked horrible as big bags lined under her eyes and black circles didn't help either. She sighed and sat in the chair the next day. It was breakfast and all she did was push her food around her plate.

"Sweetheart,'' Jake said sitting beside her, ``you need to eat. You need strength Sarah".

Tears filled her eyes as she shoved her chair out and fled the room. Matt went after her while Jake and Jared sat near me. Rose looked at us and she looked exhausted as well.

I followed Sarah to her room. She was sitting on her bed and tears were running down her pale face. She was wiping them but they kept coming.

"Sweetheart, I began sitting beside her and wrapping my arm around her.
