Chapter 2

Evangeline's POV

My lips curled into a playful smirk, my arms crossed in front of them. In front of the two people who have betrayed me a while ago.

“So, you're choosing this bitch over me now, Drake?” I gritted. 

“I am not a bitch, Evangeline! You are!”

I shook my head, not taking my eyes off her.

“Whatever, Adeline. The damage has been done. You flirt with my husband. You are his mistress and that won't change. Do you think—”

Just before I could finish my words, a strong hand suddenly flew across my face, creating a smack sound. I bit my lower lips, licking the side of it as I felt a hot liquid flow. 

Blood. 

I felt blood on my lips, but it didn't hurt at all. I've been used to pain already.

“You have no right to call her a bitch, Evangeline. I loved Adeline more than I have for you. My words are clear. We're over now. I am ending our marriage. So, what are you still doing?”

I nodded my head, and with courage, I looked Drake straight in the eyes.

“Okay,” I muttered, my heart started aching.

“Is that what you're going to say?” Drake smirked. 

“Why? Do you expect me to beg you to choose me? To kneel in front of you not to leave me? Well, if you did, you've got to be kidding me. I still loved myself, Drake. I won't be begging you because in the first place, it wasn't me who cheated here. It was you…”

My eyes turned to my sister, who was just smiling in the corner. I really couldn't believe that she's willing to destroy our relationship over Drake.

“And to you, Adeline. Drake will do the thing he did to me. He will betray you as well. Maybe not now, but sooner. And if that happens, don't ever look for me because I am already cutting the ties that bind us to be sisters in blood.”

I'm mad at her and this anger within me couldn't be controlled anymore. They betrayed me, and I will make sure they will pay huge for my pain.

“What are you waiting for? Leave the pack and don't ever come back. You're no longer needed here, Evangeline. And about the contributions you brought to this pack? It only happens once, and it can be forgotten, especially when they learned what you just did yesterday,” Adeline laughed. 

My brows furrowed from what she just mentioned. 

“W-What do you mean, Adeline?”

Her words, I know it meant something. I couldn't be mistaken about what I felt.

“Drake, what is your mistress saying about? What have I done yesterday?”

Drake tilted his head. He looked at me with a blank expression, and then his eyes landed on the room's door. As he nodded his head, the door suddenly opened. 

I turned around and saw numerous warriors behind me. Some are working with me.

“I, the Alpha of this pack, wanted Evangeline Scott to be arrested for threatening my life. Proofs have been gathered already and were presented to the pack council. As a result, you will be thrown out from the pack, instead of putting you in jail. This is effective today.”

As Drake mentioned these words, he doesn't care about the memories that we have shared for the two years of our marriage. I couldn't believe that he's doing this to me, after everything I've done towards the pack. 

“You've got to be kidding me, Drake! I never threatened your life. It was you who betrayed me with my f*cking sister and now you're accusing me!?” I stepped forward to approach him, but a warrior blocked my way. 

“Let's go, Luna Evan. You have to leave now.”

I shook away my hand when the warrior wanted to hold me.

“Don't touch me! I don’t want to be forced. Just give me a second!”

The warrior sighed. He moved a step away from me. And at this moment, I face Drake and Adeline for one last time, before leaving this pack for good.

I have no choice anymore. Drake already ordered me to be thrown away despite everything I've done here. He's really obsessed with getting rid of me so that his love story with Adeline will come into reality. 

These assholes will pay!

“You know, even if you threw me out of this pack, my legacy will continue, Drake. The good things I did for the pack and the service I spent to be your wedded wife will remain forever. I swear, you will pay for the betrayal you did to me and for hurting me. This is not the end, but just the beginning. The start where you will regret hurting me!”

After saying these words, I turned away. I just can't keep looking at him. The pain was still there deep within my heart, and even if I am the most powerful warrior that they have here, I still have a heart. 

I can feel pain. I am affected by their betrayal. But after this? 

I don't know what will happen to me. I have no idea if I can still be kind, especially to this pack whom I promised to serve for the rest of my life. 

And now, I have to let go. I won't be chasing back the man who broke my heart into pieces. There's no chasing going to happen.

“I won't regret the decision I made, Evan. I don't love you and that's clear already. Leave now, or my mind will change.”

And for one last time, I looked at Drake and Adeline with my cold eyes.

“What? Are you still expecting me to apologize to you? Come on, Evangeline. I've sacrificed my feelings just to make you happy.”

I shook my head, while smirking from what Adeline had said to me.

“Alpha Drake is yours now, Adeline. Make sure to tie him tightly, or you will lose him to someone else,” I looked away after that, while Adeline started cursing me at the back for being ruthless. 

The warriors escorted me, until we reached the borders of the pack. 

“Where are you going now, Luna Evan?”

I smirked, “To the place where I know I can start over again.”

“You are still the head warrior that we're looking up to, and—”

I raised my hand, telling that one warrior to stop talking.

“Don't worry, I will still find a way to come back here. But I will make sure that I am already a different version of me. And when it happened, Drake must be ready because I am seeking revenge. After all, Drake and I weren't a match anyway.”
