My head was killing me. My neck was hurting and my throat was burning. I felt like absolute shit.
I slowly but cautiously pried open my eyes. The first thing I noticed was that I wasn't at Aunt Omnira's house. I was in a hospital room.
Multiple machines were surrounding me and an oxygen mask was placed on my face. I gently placed the mask under my mouth and took a glance around the room.
I saw my parents and aunty sitting on one of the chairs placed around the room. They seemed like they were sleeping. I tried to call out to them but I was only able to make a small groan with my sore throat. At least that was enough to wake up my mom.
"Oh my! You're awake," she said while engulfing me with kisses and hugs. I tried to talk again to tell her to stop kissing me but I just couldn't produce any sound. My mom seemingly realized this.
"The doctor said that your vocal cords are a little bruised. You should avoid talking for a few days." I could only nod.
The rest of my family woke up and they started asking me if I remembered anything from last night. I sadly couldn't provide them with the information they wanted. The doctor soon came after. She checked my vitals and if everything was fine.
I found it quite weird that I lost my memory last night considering that I only had a fall. I must've hit my head pretty hard. The only thing I remember is going to the convenience store to buy some snacks for a movie we were about to watch.
My mom told me that I've apparently been attacked at the store. Guessing by the bruises on my neck, the person even tried to choke me to death.
She said that the person who saved me called the ambulance but fled the scene right after so he or she wasn't identified.
The fact that I couldn't remember what went on yesterday is frustrating me. How hard could I have possibly knocked my head for me to have memory loss?
The rest of the day went by relaxingly. I was scheduled to be discharged tomorrow afternoon. My aunt had to leave at a point because she had work but my parents stayed with me the whole day. The doctors came into my room two more times during the day to check on my state. I just stayed in bed the whole day and watched television.
Nighttime came and my parents settled themselves on the couches and immediately fell asleep. I couldn't blame them since they must've had a restless night last night. I had a difficult time going to sleep. My head was still pounding and I had a lot on my mind.
All day I was trying so hard to remember even just a little bit of what unfolded yesterday.
I was silently staring into space when I noticed something. Through the little window on the hospital room door. A pair of clear bright red dots. At first, I didn't think anything of it. I thought it was just a machine until it started moving closer to my door.
The hospital lights were dimmed because it was nighttime. So my vision wasn't really clear. Was it someone transporting a machine? Or was it something?
After some time, the red-colored dots disappeared making me sigh out of relief.
I was just overreacting.
I closed my eyes trying to force my sleep to come but to no surprise, it didn't work.
"How are you doing?" A deep voice whispered next to my ear making me jump in fright. I whipped my head towards the sound and found a tall figure standing next to my bed. I couldn't clear out his face just yet because of the low lighting in the room but I soon came to know who it was.
It was the guy who kidnapped me.
"What are you doing here?" I whispered back. Was he here to kidnap me again?
"I just came to check on you," he stated with a neutral face. He walked down to the end of my bed and grabbed something. It looked like to be my chart holding all necessary information about me and my condition.
"I don't think you're supposed to touch that." He paused his reading and lifted his eyes to stare at me with an unfazed expression.
"If I really wasn't, why would it be placed there where everyone could have access to it?" He raised his eyebrow as if challenging me to add something. I decided to stay quiet.
I didn't know why I got this sense of security around him this time compared to last time. Even though he's kidnapped me in the past, I had this feeling that I couldn't be any safer with anyone but him. As weird as it sounds, I felt calmer around him.
As much as I tried to fight this feeling and remind myself that he could hurt me anytime, my mind just wouldn't let me think that way.
"How did you get in here?" This time he just ignored me and continued his focused reading while scrunching his face.
"What is your name?"
"What's up with all of these questions?" He asked me when finally finished reading my chart.
"I don't know who you are but you once tried to kidnap me and now you come in here as if you're a doctor." He sighed and walked to the side of the bed. He leaned down a little and looked at me straight in the eyes.
"Do you seriously not remember anything from yesterday?" He asked.
"No?" I was getting a little more nervous. His green eyes were piercing through me like lasers making me shiver.
"Dammit, how can you fucking get memory loss after a small hit to your head?" He growled out clearly frustrated. I didn't know why he was angry. This had nothing to do with him. Unless he was the one who attacked me.
"Were you the one who attacked me?" He immediately scoffed obviously offended that the idea had even crossed my mind. He leaned his face closer to mines to the point where our noses were almost touching.
"The last thing I would ever do on this damn earth would be to hurt you," he said while staring straight into my soul making sure I understood every word he just said. His seriousness stressed me out even more than I was before.
He made a move to walk out of the room but I stopped him right before he could open the door.
"Wait!" He craned his head back towards me.
"Was it you who texted me?"
"Yes." With that, he opened the door and left the room.
After what just happened, I was of course unable to go to sleep once again. Thinking about what just went down sleep was out of the question now. My mind was busy creating different scenarios of what his deal could've been.
"The last thing I would ever do on this damn earth would be to hurt you,"
What did that even mean?
It's not like we knew each other. So why was he speaking as if I was super important to him? Everything about this man was odd.
~~~AmayaToday was the day that I was finally getting discharged. Even if I didn't spend much time here, I was still super excited about leaving. I hated the vibe hospitals brought. Knowing that plenty of dead people were probably laying in the exact same bed as I made me uneasy.If it weren't for my attack the other night, my parents and I would've already left yesterday.My head was hurting me less but my memory hasn't come back yet. At this point, I've lost all hope of remembering again. It took too much energy from me to do so. Yesterday I couldn't sleep at all and now I'm exhausted.My encounter with my kidnapper still lurks in my mind. He hasn't visited me since and I find myself wanting to see him again as weird as that sounds. I just wanted more answers to my questions.Leaving the hospital might've been the best feeling I've had. As soon as the doors opened, I took a sniff of the fresh air that I'v
~~~ Amaya His eyes no longer had those pretty green tint in them. They were now a bright glowing red colour. His teeth now contained a pair of sharp fangs ready to bite through your skin anytime. He wasn't just my kidnapper anymore. Nor my stalker. He was now my vampire. This realization hit me like a train. My feet were glued to one place not daring to move. My breathing had stopped a while ago. The beast in front of me must've caught on to my nervousness because a small pang of hurt shot across his face but quickly vanished. I knew I should be terrified. I knew I should be running in the opposite direction. I knew I should be screaming for dear life. So why couldn't I? I couldn't bring myself to be scared of this creature. I might've been shocked but I'm not frightened for some reason. It was as if deep down, I already knew who he truly was. "Listen, you might be scared shitless right
~~~ Amaya "Among the supernaturals, there are different types. Vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, witches, angels, demons and, elements. They all have different characteristics and abilities." Who would've thought that we had such creatures living among us? "The one who attacked you was a shapeshifter. They are known to be able to imitate any living form. They can change and impersonate any living being on this planet. They can be very dangerous. You might be having a normal conversation with your mom one day but it could be a shapeshifter and you wouldn't even know." As he spoke to me, a little piece of my memory from that night came back. I remember walking into the store and greeting the cash
AmayaMy sleep had been interrupted by the sound of my phone ringing. Lazily grabbing it, the caller ID showed that Giselle my editor was calling. I groaned but still answered."Do you know what time it is?" I groaned out."What do you mean? It's one in the afternoon," she stated. I took a quick glance at the clock laid on my nightstand. It was indeed one in the afternoon. Shit, I must've overslept."Yeah sorry. So why did you call?""About that, there's been a change of plans. Instead of three months, you'll have to hand in your work in two.""Oh okay that's not a problem," I replied even though this would make me
Amaya My shift was almost over. Thank God. Today was uneventful except for when this old lady screamed at me because I told her that she was owing to the library a book she lost. She made a big deal out of it when it wasn't even my fault. As I was placing books on the shelf, I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder making me divert my attention to this person. It was a man who seemed familiar but I couldn't quite remember where I'd met him. "Hey, could you tell me where-" he stopped mid-sentence when I turned my head towards him. His lips formed a small smile upon seeing me. "It's you again." I couldn't seem to remember where I'd met this person before. As if sensing my confusion, he introduced himself.
AmayaHe stood in all of his glory in front of me, frowning down at me while I tried to regain my composure. I had a feeling that he wouldn't quite appreciate that I thought he was here to hurt me. On the other note, why is he here and how did he know where I was located?"H-hey," I said when I faced him."Why are you so nervous?" he asked me. I somehow didn't want to admit the truth out of embarrassment of my paranoia."W-what, me nervous? That's ridiculous." Okay, I could've made my lie a little more believable than that because he sure didn't buy that at all."You thought I was another shapeshifter huh," he stated making me cautiously nod.
Amaya All week long Damon forced me to do training after my shifts at the library. He would always either sit down on a log and observe me or do circles around me. He would always tell me to close my eyes and believe. Believe what? I seriously didn't understand where he was trying to come from. I haven't really seen him apart from my supposed to be training either. He would drop me off at my house and leave. I had a good feeling that he would most likely stay near me in order to keep watch of potential danger while I was sleeping. How boring his life should be, or should I say after-life. It was now Saturday and I took the day off today because I didn't feel like doing a shift. Also because I have my date with Ryan today. We've agreed that he would pick me up around seven o'clock tonight. It was now almost noon and I still didn't know what to wear. I haven't gone out on a date for so long that all of the dresses I had for nice occasio
Amaya I had finished getting dressed and was now patiently waiting for Ryan to come. I told my mom that I was going out with Destiny so she could let me leave. I also called Destiny to tell her to cover for me if ever my mom decided to call her. Damon hasn't come back to bother me and I was glad. He was so annoying sometimes I just couldn't deal with him. As I was scrolling through my feed, I noticed a spark of light flash through my window. I went to check what it was and I saw a car parking on our driveway meaning Ryan had finally arrived. I quickly grabbed my purse and ran downstairs to open the door for him. When he rang the doorbell, I waited at least ten seconds to make sure he didn't get the impression that I was waiting for him at the door. "Hi." I greeted him with a smile. "Hey." I saw his eyes quickly roam through my body making me a little more nervous. "You look beautiful," he complimented. If I were white, I would
