Chapter 2

The school bus halt to a stop, dropping all the students after school.

Ethan, Aiden and Eva walked home together, talking about their day and each crazy thing that happened in school. As soon as they got home, they were shocked to see the front door wide open, they stared at each other before Ethan walked in first,after few minutes of walking in the house, he then called out to Eva and Aiden before they both entered the house closing the door behind them.

“MOM, DAD!!” Ethan called but no one responded, Eva looked around to see if they had left any recordings for them even tho they have never done that.

“What a wonderful kind of parents we were blessed with,beating Eva wasn’t bad enough they have abandoned us too”Aiden yelled…

“You don’t know that so don’t jump into conclusions” Ethan spoke

“What are you saying Ethan?, are you waiting for an angel to come down and tell it to your face?,” Aiden asked Ethan in rage.

As the two continued to bicker, Eva took a look at her father shelf and saw a piece of note on it, she grab it and walked towards her arguing brother

“Could you both quit yelling at each other?, that is not going to help, I found this, take a look” Eva said giving the note to Ethan, he opened the note, looked at it before he started reading aloud.

“If you are reading this you are definitely back from school, don’t panic, me and your mother got into a fight and she decided she can no longer leave with us. Sorry for the mess we left behind, we went to settle out our divorce, don’t slack on anything, I will be back soon and we will have a better discussion on this”

Ethan sighed and folded the paper back before looking at Eva and Aiden who were now suddenly quiet, “so how do we feel about this?” Ethan asked them, “we saw this coming” Aiden said

“I think I have forgotten how to feel” Eva said and with that turned her back and walked up to her room.

As Ethan and Aiden cleaned up the mess their parents left behind, Eva refused to come down from her room till her dad got back, Ethan and Aiden were sitting on the dinning table

“where is Eva?” he spoke after dropping his bag. “Where do you expect her to be, you just left us a note saying our parents decided to separate, do you even consider us to be Humans, to have feelings, so Eva is going to grow up without her mother?”Aiden asked his dad.

He looked at him truly disappointed, he has definitely traumatized his daughter for life and there is no way he could connect with his sons now.

“ She won’t be living without a mother, she would be without a father” he said before sitting down on the sofa.

Ethan and Aiden stared at their father in disbelief, “Don’t tell me you let our younger sister live with that woman” Ethan asked in rage, after a while he didn’t get a response from his father he got his answer. After a few minutes of silence, they heard the

door of Eva open has she walked out of her room with tears in her eyes

Turns out she has being listening, when her dad got back , she had wanted to come out but when she heard Aiden’s voice she decided to stay put until she heard what her dad, which shook

her world a bit, she will now be leaving with her mom, she fell to her knees in tears. She couldn’t hear anything downstairs so she decided to step out

After she came out of her room and all eyes were on her, she spoke firmly “do you even love me?, you know I never asked to be born but fate decided to be cruel to me by giving me such terrible parents”

“Don’t speak like that” Ethan interfered

“I’m not you Ethan, I had to endure a lot in silence and never had you for once stand up for me so don’t start now, what excuse do you want to give that you couldn’t keep me?” Eva asked her dad.

With all his kids staring at him he sighed and spoke in sorrow

“ I tried to keep you but your mom kept using the fact that you are still young and you cannot do without your mother, so we came to the conclusion that when you are old enough to make your

decision you can choose to make come back to me if you wish,Eva please forgive me I tried to keep you but I lost”

Eva just looked at him with no emotion and asked when she was to leave “this weekend” he spoke

Eva nodded and went into her room, Aiden left and walked upstairs to Eva’s room and sat beside her as Eva laid down on the bed and placed her head on Aiden’s leg, he patted her to sleep

Eva remained quite to everyone, she won’t speak unless spoken too, never looked anyone in there eyes. She seemed to quite for her age, her dad creeped up with guilt, Aiden very worried and Ethan still trying to process everything that had happened. All this continued till the weekends.

Aiden Walked into Eva room and saw her packing, “Are you seriously going to leave me?” Aiden asked Eva, she stop and stared at him “fate didn’t leave me with much choice” Eva replied in an emotionless tone, like she has forgotten how to

have emotions, then the sentence “I think I have forgotten how to feel” recalled in Aiden’s head and he couldn’t control himself, he hugged her tightly and sobbed.

Has much has they both hated the idea there was nothing they could do, their was no power in their hands.

Eva stared at the car window has she head to her mom’s place,as soon as they got there her dad gone down after her and spoke

“I know you are upset and offended, we could see every weekend if that is ok with you, I am sorry for letting you down, I’ll miss you Eva and I am sorry for hitting you” in a guilty tone.

Eva forced a smile and told him it was alright and she would come on weekend, her dad finally calmed down and reached out to his back pocket and bought out her phone and handed it

to her “call if you have any issues” her dad said afterwards..

Eva nodded and head into the house after her dad left, she didn’t realize because she was to busy with her thoughts this place was very fancy, something she knew her mom could not afford even if she is very well stable

“You must be Eva, am I right?” she turned to see a teenage boy heading towards, he seemed to be either fifteen or a bit less

“Yes I am” Eva replied, before the boy could speak any further.

Her mom came yelling “my baby” at her and hugged her tightly,she just stood still till her mom was ready to explain who this boy was

“ How many times do I have to tell you, you look better smiling, now smile for mummy” her mom said, she just rolled her eyes because she knew all this was fake, her mom never accepted her has her daughter, always act like her existence didn’t matter or finding ways to put her down, she just stared blankly at her until her mom gave up with a sigh.

“This is my boyfriend’s house where me and you will be leaving till we get married “ she said,

“MARRIED!!”
