Chapter 6

Eva looked at her with a mixture of scared and worried “what is wrong? are you alright?” Eva asked in worry.

“You are so beautiful and I am Jayne and we have to be friends” Jayne said to Eva with a

huge smile and a stretched hand to shake her.

Eva just looked at her with confusion “excuse me” she asked

“I am Jayne your best friend and you are going to wipe the 4 squad of the leaders chart, I will show you around school when we get down but first what is my bestie’s name” Jayne said in one breath.

Eva listened to this girl who just kept talking like she was in a speed contest and all she got from her was her name, her word to show her around school and her question.

 “I am Eva”…she said not wanting to start another contest.

As the bus drove them to school, Jayne talked all the way till they arrived at the school gate.

Everyone got Down from the bus and started familiarizing themselves with each other, Eva

came down from the bus and was shocked to see the school building in front of her

It was huge, it was wide, it was…… “ magnificent isn’t it” Jayne said finishing the sentence in her head.

“Let’s move, the faster we move the faster we can finish before class starts” , Jayne said pulling Eva towards the school taking her from class to class and telling her all the crazy things that happened in each class.

On their way to the principal office, they were blocked by four girls. 

“hey new girl” one of the girl said.

Eva just stared at them confused why she was getting so much attention before school

even started, they all stared at her giving an approval look to each other.

She was confused why they were checking from head to toes, she guessed they were

checking if she was up to their standards.

“Would you love to join us for lunch” the girl who stood confidential in front of the rest

asked Eva, before Eva could reply Jayne spoke in her defense

“She will be with me the whole day, especially during lunch” Jayne said with her arm crossed over Eva shoulder like she was claiming ownership of her.

“excuse me we don’t speak to weirdo” one of the girls pitched in “and you, new girl you’re 

invited to sit with us at lunch, we will be expecting” the girl who looked like their leader said before walking of and the rest followed behind.

Don’t pay attention to them, you are with me the whole day, they just hate me since I

accidentally poured my food on them.

“Over here Eva” Liora called out to her. One of the girls who had invited her to join them for lunch.

Eva looked her direction and went ahead to sit at the table. She sighed softly and looked at Liora and then the other girls who were with her earlier. 

“So, Eva, tell us a bit about you” one of the girls spoke.

“There is nothing much to say, just got transferred to the school” Eva said with a sly smile, turning to her food.

“Pretty boring life you got there…” one of the girls said mockingly while the others giggled.

Eva sighed “I couldn’t agree more” before putting a full spoon in her mouth.

The girl looked at her, clearly annoyed. She rolled her eyes and turned to the other girls,

making fun of people for one reason or the other, or as they called it, fun. They mocked

other for their dressing or just mocking them for anything they had that wasn’t expensive.

Eva listened but didn’t say a word when she was done she picked her tray and left,

muttering to herself “So this is what you lowlifes do for fun… and here I was thinking you had taste”.
