Arabella's POV

I stared at Sean, who immediately entered his room, when he hugged and kissed me, without a word or looking back at me. My face felt heated, but I also felt confused by the man's sudden behavior. When I wanted to ask what happened to him, it was too late because Sean had already closed the door and turned off the lights.

"Maybe Sean's tired," I muttered. He had been working all day, and I could smell the alcohol on his breath when he leaned down to kiss me. It reminded me of Dallas, who sometimes drank when he got home from work and told me that he'd had a hard enough time that he needed to distract himself with a drink.

I walked into the room rubbing the back of my neck, the thrilling warmth of his touch becoming increasingly familiar every time we were close. I don't know what I'm feeling, but I'm happy and can't stop smiling as they replay the scene in my head.

If only I had a friend who understood romance, maybe now I could tell her everything that happened to me in
