Let Me Be Free

Arabella's POV

"I just want to be free, Sean. You can understand that for me, right?" I asked pleadingly. I was a little scared because I saw that the man's expression wasn't as gentle as usual, but at least Sean didn't immediately attack my rebuttal and was more likely to bend to my will. I waited for him, who still looked sharp, but he finally spoke after a while.

"Alright." Sean took a deep breath and then looked at me. He still looked conflicted but forced himself to speak. "You can find the job you want on your own, but there are three conditions you must fulfill, Bella."

"What are they? I'll follow them." I looked at him intently, meaning what I said. From now on, I would do anything to get what I wanted, especially for my freedom as a growing woman.

"Let me know where you end up working, but before that, also where you apply." Sean showed me his two fingers and then slowly raised his ring finger. "Lastly, ask me for help if you get stuck. Can you?"
