Chapter 98

Lexi’s pov

Heading into Kieran's room I quietly rummaged through his dresser to find a pair of elastic waistband shorts and a t-shirt. As I went past his new toddler bed I could see my son sleeping peacefully and smiled.

"He's such a good boy,” I murmured and saw his lip curl up in his sleep.

Tucking the cover around him I pecked his cheek and headed silently back to my room.

Entering the bathroom I see Olivia attempting to wash her hair and not having success with all the tangles.

“I can comb out the knots and braid it for you if you like,” I offered and she peeked over at me and said, “Yes, please.”

Getting on my knees next to the tub I told her that I would help her rinse her pretty hair.

“It is like yours and my mommy's,” she commented with a frown and lowered her saddened eyes.

“Were you at the fire in the caves?”

Her eyes shot up to mine and froze.

“How do you know?”

“My father and my dear friend Lenny were staying there too,” I said softly.
