Chapter 90: Missing

Steve got home pretty late, I stayed up anxiously to see what happened. He walked up to me and gave me a gentle kiss on the lips that lasted just long enough, once he pulled away he walked into the kitchen to grab a glass of water. He’s mind was somewhere else as he was drinking his water looking out the window.

“Are you hungry babe, I can make you something?”

He shook his head, “No I’m good thanks babe.”

I waited for him to say something else but nothing else came out.

“How did the visit go? Is he dating Bethany?”

He looked over at me and nodded before having another drink. He’s eyes were fixed outside in the dark, I walked over next to him and wrapped my arms around his waist as he held onto me. We stood and started into the darkness until Steve pulled away,

“We should head to bed babe, we are going to have a late night tomorrow.” He gave me a smile but I could tell it was forced.
