Chapter 96: The final 2 clues

He paused for a moment, “Okay Ma’am, we found a body in Junction creek this evening, prints came back to your husband, Steve Reid.”

I starred into the dark, I shook my head.

“There is no way! I talked to him a bit earlier, he was okay. I did everything he asked.”

I felt the tears fill my eyes As I tried to process everything,

“I guess you didn’t listen did you.” The officer spat out.

I looked around the room, it was pitch dark. I looked at my phone, there was no call tonight. It must have been a dream. I was trying to calm myself down, as I thought about what happened in the dream. I ran towards the window and saw our car parked outside. I immediately ran from room to room checking on the kids and searching for Steve.

The kids were all sleeping but there was no sight of Steve. I looked at my phone and saw the unknown number text messages, I guess only part of it was a dream.
