I was in the garden, kneeling against the floor as I watered the hibiscus, a smile making its way to my lips as I hummed. My mother’s favorite flowers was hibiscus, I remember my father getting her lots of it whenever he could and now, watering the same flowers only brought me nothing but joy.
I tucked a strand of hair that fell to my forehead behind my ear, wiping my face with my other hand, leaning back lightly to admire the work I just did. I paused, scrunching my nose as I got a whiff of the most enticing smell ever, the smell of a long lost cabin in the woods, freshly baked cookies sitting on the window, spring flowers covering every corner of the cabin that’s filled with seasonal vines. The smell of home. I stood up as the scent got thicker with the air, like it was calling out for me and only me. I could feel the taste on my tongue. The smell wasn’t from the garden, I knew that. I looked around, trying to see who or what had such smell, one that made my legs weaken and heartbeat quicken. I hurriedly slipped my slippers on, attempting to walk out of the garden only to see him.He stood right before me in a red sleeveless T-shirt that clung to his body like a second skin. His arms were thick and veiny as his biceps flexed from the slightest movement. His chest muscles were well defined and perfectly chiseled out that it complimented his broad shoulders and matched his overall frame very well. His stomach was flat with a decent six pack peeking out and a tight core that emphasized on perfectly sculpted V shape that dipped into his waist band.He had a crazy blue jeans trousers to match and a black Jordan sneakers. I swallowed hard as my eyes trailed back to his face. A light gasped left my lips as soon as I made eye contact with him. His sea blue eyes seemed to draw me in, eliciting a gasp from me again, his skin was as smooth as butter, I had a sudden urge to run my palms against the smoothness of his skin, watching the sun shinebrightly on his skin, highlighting the golden tanned skin. His hair was fluffy from him raking it throughly? A sandy brown hair that covered his forehead. He had a perfectly sculpted jaw, looking like the goddess herself sculpted him. Thick succulent lips were moulded into his face. “Mate” He whispered loud enough for me to hear. My eyes widen as soon as he grabbed my arm, his eyes growing wide with worry. “You have to leave.” He blurted out. I furrowed my eyebrows, confused by the behavior. “What?” “You have to leave now. I’ll help you escape here and my father won’t notice but please, you need to leave now.” He grabbed my hand tighter, pulling me. I jerked my hand back from his hold, “What? I’m going anywhere! I have to stay. I have a reason to stay and I can’t leave.”I barked out. His eyes widen by the tone of my voice, bringing his fingers to massage his temple. “You do not understand, staying here any longer will only endanger your life and I can’t loose you. Not now that I just found you so please, come with me and leave this place.” “I can’t- I have too much at stake! I have just too much at stake and I can’t go. I have something important to do before leaving.” His eyes bore into mine “The pack found out you’re planning to kill him. They found out about your plans and now you have to leave, that’s why I came searching for you. You have to-“ he didn’t get to complete his sentence. A couple of men were running towards our direction, all armed and I recognized them as the warriors from the pack. I swallowed hard, eyes flickering from the men rushing towards me and my mate. He yanked me tightly as we ran, I had to get to safety but how? I held the hem of my skirt and ran as fast as I could with my mate by my side. “They will catch up to us, I’ll distract them but you have to leave! You have to keep running and don’t look back. On no circumstance should you look back.”He yelled. My eyes widened on assimilating what he just said, legs coming to a halt as we rounded a corner “What? You’re coming with me. I’m not leaving you—“ I didn’t get to complete my words as the heavy footsteps of the warriors came barreling in. “Go! I’ll distract them!” He yelled, pushing me towards the direction I could call as the exit. I couldn’t just leave him to his fate. He’s my mate. I can’t just leave him to face all of these by himself. “Go! Don’t stop running and don’t look back.” He yelled, pushing me further. I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat as I ran towards the exit. My mate was no longer with me. I turned back briefly only to see two warriors, pining him down with all their might as another hovered against him, teeth bare as he sneered, pulling out a sharp knife and plunged it deep into his chest.~~~~~~Eyes snapped open, I jolted up from the bed, drenched in sweat and fear, chest heaving heavily as I looked around the room I was kept. I placed my hand against my chest in a bid to calm myself. ‘I’m okay, I’m okay, I’m okay.’ I muttered repeatedly like a chant and got out of bed, I wiped my forehead, flicking the hair that was rather stuck on my forehead away and sighed, reaching for the jar of water and poured it into a cup, gulping it down in a go.I hurriedly reached for the knife I had kept hidden the night before, sighing in relief when it was still there. What sort of dream did I just have? Why in the world would I even be in a garden in this pack to begin with and dream about someone I don’t even know. I couldn’t help but remember just how sinfully good that person was in my dream. Only in my dream would I ever get to see someone like that and well look how it turned out, he was stabbed. I felt worry rumble within me. Why am I worried about someone I don’t know? Why am I worried about a dream?'It’s just a dream, Elena. No need to get worked up about it.’ I muttered and got up from the bed.' I heard a light knock on the door and quickly laid back down on the bed, pretending to be asleep. I didn’t want to talk to anyone yet.Whoever was at the door came in on their own. Talk about privacy. I heard footsteps coming towards my direction but made no move to even open my eyes.It was just one but two people in my room, perhaps the ladies from yesterday. I confirmed it when they started to talk “She’s still asleep? I wanted to hear her voice.”One of them says and I knew it was the one I hadn’t seen yet. “Her voice? Why?” The other replied, walking around the room. “You know, to know just hear how she speaks and if she’s going to be a tough one or another one that Alpha might just break easily.” She whispered lowly as though she could be heard. “Don’t go saying things like that against the Alpha, Carla. We are only here to help her get ready for the mating ceremony and nothing else.” I felt my heartbeat stop for a minute. Mating ceremony is today? I am going to be tied to that monster today and have to accept him as my Alpha even if he isn’t my mate. I’ll have to give up my virginity to the man that invaded my pack and killed my parents. A tear fell down my cheeks before I even realized, luckily the two maids sent to help me were to engrossed in whatever conversation they were having and didn’t even notice my discomfort. “Isn’t it time to wake her? She has to get ready.” I felt someone stand over me, gazing at my figure. “Let her sleep for some few minutes more, after all, her life is going to change in less than two hours.” “Young master hasn’t been seen around, seems like he’s taking the news hard just like we thought he would.” “Well, I’m not surprised. The Young master isn’t one to condone acts of his father but then again, what can he do? Nothing! His father is still the Pack Alpha and therefore holds all power and can down whatever he wants.”The young master? The one from my dream?’ I pondered “Our voices might just wake her up so let’s leave, we’ll be back in thirty minutes.” I couldn’t help but think the last words were directed at me. Maybe she knew I wasn’t asleep but decided not to call me out on my lie. Whatever it was, I’m glad I have thirty minutes to myself. The door got shut and my eyes flew open, I rested my hands against my tummy, staring at the ceiling. In less than two hours, I will have to bare the mark of the man that killed my parents and kidnapped me. In less than two hours, I’ll give up my virginity to some slimy, cocky and evil bastard. In two hours I’ll be closer to my goal of killing Alpha Williams. The voice of my ex-pack alpha rang in my ears 'Kill Williams and avenge your parents’ it echoed in my ears. I will do just that, I’ll bring my parents killer to his knees and kill him. I got up from the bed and walked to the bathroom. Since everyone is preparing for the mating ceremony, I should do my own part and have my bath. A while later, I walked out of the bathroom to see the lady from before in the room, she turned to look at me, her face unreadable. She stared at me hard and just then did I notice what was in her hands. My breathe hitched upon seeing what she had in her hands. Oh fuck. The knife I successfully hid away was in her hands. I slowly looked up at her, her face expressionless. “I can exp-“ She rushed towards me, grabbing me by the shoulders and leaned towards me as though she was hugging me. “If you’re killing William, you’re taking revenge for my parents and younger sister too. I have Wolfsbane. You should drench your knife in it.”Epilogue ~One year after. The sun seemed exceptionally bright today. I shifted uncomfortably, sweat beads formed on my forehead, I lifted my arm, wiping my forehead rather awkwardly. A groan escaped me and I stopped, allowing the damaged weed fall from my hand. I straightened my back, wincing slowly on hearing the cracks. “Come inside now, your skin looks too red already.” A familiar voice says behind me. I palmed my lips into a thin line, groaning slightly as I stood up, my knees cracked painfully hard. Okay, maybe I’ve been kneeling down here, uprooting these damn weeds for way too long.“You know, we have a gardener that can do this. It’s literally his job description.” Vanessa says, eyeing my body, her nose scrunched slightly in annoyance. “You know, gardening is good to let out all these stress you’re carrying. Maybe you should join me tomorrow. I still have to clear that part.” I gestured at the other part of the garden that’s still undone. I glanced at Vanessa who was gazi
Elena~Here I was standing in what I would call Jason’s secret. Thousand of boxes were piled against each other. Mitchell had told me about this early this morning , she said her father would always go behind the pack house and I connected it with what I read in the book. I was able to tell Jake about the book Mitchell gave me but he didn’t seem that bothered about it but did tell me to keep the book and that everything would be sorted today. I decided to trail down this path when Jason and Jake got busy but not before telling Jake where I was going to. I still had no idea what Jake was planning but with how confident he seemed. I knew everything would be sorted soon. I heaved deeply, looking at the thousands of boxes stacked inside the boy’s quarters. There were thousand and this is where Jason was keeping it. Keeping them. This is it. What was written in the book is here. I rushed to the boxes piled against each other, immediately carrying one of it down, it was exceptionally heav
Elena~Here I was, sat between Mitchell and Jake. Alpha Jason and the Luna were also sitting, watching the maid dish the food.“How long do you plan on staying?” The Luna asked, gesturing at the maid to stop dishing her food. I furrowed my eyebrows at her question, remembering Mitchell’s had said to not stay long.“A couple of days at most and we’ll be out of your hair.” Jake says, chuckling slightly “You’re welcome to stay as long as you want, Jake. After all your father, the late Alpha Williams was a close friend of mine. Isn’t that right, darling?” Jason said, eyes stuck on his mate, emphasizing on the words a little too intently.I didn’t miss how she flinched even though she tried hard not too. A smile quickly masking her face “Of course, they’re welcome to stay as long as they want.” She replied, voice curt and sharp.“Haha…Thank you for your hospitality but we won’t be able to take much of your time as I also have a pack to run.” Jake says and Jason laughed.“Of course, I und
Elena ~“Welcome back, Elena.” Alpha Jason, Luna and their daughter stood right outside the pack house to welcome us. The alpha had the biggest smile on his face. He had a full regalia on while his wife was dressed in the traditional Luna outfit, they both seemed very different from how they were. His gaze fell on me, taking every inch of my appearance. “Thank you , Alpha Jason for welcoming us into your humble abode so nicely.” Jake says, interrupting the weird look Jason was giving me. Well, it wasn’t that weird but having him smile like he didn’t just trade my life made me squirm uncomfortably. Watching him and his mate look at me like I wasn’t traded cheaply only stirred up something bitter in me.“Please come in, I’m sure you’re both tired and need to rest.” The Luna says, hand grazing my arm lightly as we walked into the pack house, like I said, things have become very different here. The pack house for one was looking more nicer? It wasn’t like this months back but now, it l
Elena~“Are you ready?” Jake asked. I finished zipping my bag, standing up properly. “Yeah, I am.” I replied, watching as his eyes darted around.“You still haven’t told me what your plan is. I don’t think showing up in the Crystal pack without a plan is actually smart.” I say and he nodded, walking towards me with a smile on his face.“You trust me, right?” He asked like I wouldn’t bare my neck to him and let him do as he please without second guessing it.“Of course.” He palmed his lips into a thin line, bringing his hand up to caress my cheek “just trust me, we have to finish up what this is with Jason and the only way we can get into his territory right now is pretend like we are still friends with him. For that, I’ll need you by my side.” He says. That’s the only thing I’ve been able to understand in this whole thing. He hasn’t slipped out about the plan. All I know is that he’s been pretty secretive about it. Of. Course, I know it isn’t about him not trusting me but perhaps it’
Elena~Three months after…“Elena! Elena!” Someone called out my name. I placed the watering can on the floor, removing the hat on my head as I turned to see who was calling out my name. A smile graced my lips as soon as I got a whiff of the tiny footsteps rushing my way.“Careful, you might fall.” I say just as the child reached me, hugging my legs tightly. I giggled, kneeling to hug her.“What’s wrong bey? Shouldn’t you be with Lily?” I asked the child, placing my fingers under her chin, tilting her head upwards slightly to meet my eyes.“She’s being rude and won’t share her plushie with me.” She pouted and I smiled. “Now, why won’t she share her plushie with you? What did you do wrong?“ I asked, the sharp glint in her eyes telling me she had done something.“Beatrice!” Someone yelled agitatedly. I pursed my lips into a thin line on perceiving the scent of an anxious person.“Oh, thank the goddess.” The woman who had been calling out to the child said, slapping her forehead slightl
