John disconnected the call and got out of bed and dressed up. Sharyn opened her eyes and saw him heading for the door with the car key in his hand. Sharyn sprang up and rushed to the door ahead of John and stood in between.
“Are you going to stoop lower than you have already?” He asked her.
“Say whatever you want but I will not move.” Sharyn said.
“Is that so?” John looked angrier. “I didn’t know that people change so easily, Sharyn. You were so good that Lance always advised me to give you a chance but I am sure he is regretting now. I am regretting it too.”
Sharyn flinched and reluctantly moved away from the door. John grabbed the knob and tried to open the door but Sharyn stopped him.
“I am only doing this for your safety.” she said.
“Did it ever occur to you that without Lance we wouldn’t be together?” John asked her.
“I don’t want to lose you.” Sharyn said. By now, she was shedding tears.
Buxton moved closer to Pavel and placed his hand on the latter’s shoulder. Pavel looked at him and shoved his hand away. At this point, Pavel as wary of everyone around him. He could not even trust his own shoulder.in his head, he hoped that no one would revolt against him in this crucial moment as he was too weak to bear the attacks of the enemy. Buxton moved back, sensing Pavel’s discomfort. “I will get rid of all your loyal men and women and strike once you are alone.” Buxton told himself. “Forgive me, master. I know you are worried about the lady at the moment, but shouldn’t we search the brothel to see if we can find the murderer of your father?” Buxton asked him unexpectedly. Pavel looked at Buxton and then glanced over at Gabriella’s still body. “I know you will not be able to leave this room, but you can trust me with this task.” Buxton said. “I had vowed to be loyal to your father always.” “Alright then. Bring me the culprit if
Lance opened his eyes and found John, Kedade and Saga by his side. He smiled, relived to be alive as he thought he was going to die. Three days had already gone by since he fell sick. The doctor came in and examined him."Welcome back, Mr. Daniel Cortez." The doctor said with a big smile."Thank you doctor. I appreciate it." Lance replied merrily."Maybe I talk to the three of you in my office?" The daughter turned to the trio. Kedade grimaced. She hated this line the most when she was at a hospital. Doctors often had negative things to say when ever they asked to see a patient's relatives in their offices. Kedade was not the only one worried, John, Saga and Lance himself were also worried but they suppressed their emotions, each wanting to be strong for the other. As three of his guardians and the doctor left the room, Lance took his phone and looked at the calendar. Today was Chief Agent Andrew Boyaze's trial in court. Lance began to get out of
After two days of being apart, Pavel decided to face Gabriella. He was unsure of what he would say to her so he practiced some lines before he went to meet her. Gabriella was seated on her bed, looking outside through the window when Pavel came in. She turned to him, gave him a quick glance and looked back outside. A chill went down Pavel’s spine, making him even more nervous. He approached her and took a seat on a stool beside her bed and placed his hand on hers reluctantly yet affectionately. Gabriella turned to him as she withdrew her hand nervously and moved away, leaving some space between them. Even though it was an act, she had to make him believe her memory had returned after his gruesome attack on her."Dr Matteo says you have regained your memory. Do you remember what your name is now?""Risha...." Gabriella replied."Do you remember where you came from?""I was a hostess in Saba.""Now I know where Japheth found you.""That good for nothing man refined m
Lance stood in front of board and the other agents. The time had come for him to be inaugurated as the Chief Agent. Lance looked at John and smiled heartily. The position of Chief Agent had come to him at the right time. Now the two of them would be able to bring a stop to the human trafficking syndicate once and for all. The Chairman stepped forward and placed the pins of authority on Lance and made him take an oath in front of everyone.John applauded merrily. He knew a time like this would come and he would have to support his best friend wholeheartedly because a new day had come in NBCI; a new leader had emerged. He was going to set everything right and bring back the good reputation of the justice system. Lance saluted the board and turned to his comrades as they all stood up and saluted him."Thank you for choosing me as your next leader. I promise to uphold justice and to bring peace to our citizens by alleviating crimes of all kinds." Lance said and sal
Claris sprang up as her eyes beheld her sister, Vivian. The latter was taken into Claris and Katrina's cell, stupefying both of them."You can stay here while we prepare your cell." The warden said. Vivian nodded thankfully and walked to her sister's bed."Why here?" Katrina hissed. "Why can't ahead stay in another cell? The warden was about to reveal that Claris was Vivian's sister but Claris stopped her with a glared. Vivian chuckled and approached her sister reluctantly. Claris recoiled. She had no idea what Vivian was going to do, but she hoped they wouldn't have to hug each other."May I sleep here tonight?" Vivian asked Claris. Katrina snorted and looked away as Claris moved aside and let Vivian sleep on one side."There are eight beds in here. Why did you choose a bed which is already occupied." Katrina finally asked."I am scared someone might kill me in my sleep...." Vivian replied. Claris did not say a word, but she gave Vivi
Daylight had given way to nightfall yet the city still looked alive. Lights shown brightly in streets and structures in them. People were still gallivanting around like it was day time and Kedade and Saga were among them. This was their last night in Flora and they decided to make the most out of it by going out for a date. The clock struck at ten, but Kedade and Saga still lingered in one of the restaurants in the mall. They were having a good time together, hoping time would just stop and give way to their love. Right at the top floor of top the mall, Kedade looked out through the window, admiringly gazing at the cable cars going to and from the mall. Saga glanced at her and beheld her eyes; they were filled with desire, gleaming at its highest peak. Saga took Kedade's hand and caressed it fondly. Kedade's gaze shifted to him and they both smiled merrily."Do you like cable cars ?" He finally asked."I always admired them from a distance. I am af
Lance, Evans and John met at the casino later that night. The three men took out their pens and papers and began drafting plans and strategies to ambush Dario Pavel. Evans provided more insight after gathering information from his friends in Sultan."The route behind the jungle is more suitable for us when ambushing Pavel." Evans said. "The main tarred road is full of spies who work for Dario. Even children are used to spy on people and scout potential victims and enemies.""Then I will send you and two others to go and scout the back route. I will need a report on the route's possible dangers, disadvantages, hideouts and its distance to the brothel." Lance told him."That is a good idea." Evans chirped."Meanwhile, I will continue to work with O'Neil on the sides. We need to make sure he shares with us all the information we can use." John added."Thank you so much for being a part of this miss
Lance stood outside the room and watched Vivian and Claris through the window blinds. Both women were still unconscious despite a day having passed since Katrina 's demise. The postmotem reports still showed no sign of poison in their systems. No weapon or injury was detected either and this puzzled Lance greatly. John came to him and placed a hand on his shoulder."Hey....""John...you are here?" Lance looked at his friend."You haven't had food yet. You need some replenish your energy.""It is my fault that Katrina is dead....""You did your best to protect her.""I still have to find out whay happened.""Do you still think that it was Vivian?""The truth has a way of coming out." Lance said and looked back at Vivian. She looked so peaceful and innocent in unconscious yet it was highly possible that she had killed Katrina and sent herself and her sister in an unconscious state to cover up the sin."There is a cafe near
