Chapter Forty-nine

Buxton moved closer to Pavel and placed his hand on the latter’s shoulder. Pavel looked at him and shoved his hand away. At this point, Pavel as wary of everyone around him. He could not even trust his own shoulder.in his head, he hoped that no one would revolt against him in this crucial moment as he was too weak to bear the attacks of the enemy. Buxton moved back, sensing Pavel’s discomfort.

“I will get rid of all your loyal men and women and  strike once you are alone.” Buxton told himself.

“Forgive me, master. I know you are worried about the lady at the moment, but shouldn’t we search the brothel to see if we can find the murderer of your father?” Buxton asked him unexpectedly. Pavel looked at Buxton and then glanced over at Gabriella’s still body.

“I know you will not be able to leave this room, but you can trust me with this task.” Buxton said. “I had vowed to be loyal to your father always.”
