Chapter Twenty-Two

Sunny woke up in the morning, sneaked out of the room and went to Kedade’s room. Kedade was surprised to see Sunny at her doorstep but she let her into the room anyway.

“What brings you here?” Kedade asked as she offered me a seat.

“I do not want to have a child with Dario.” Sunny said. “Please help me, Kedade.”

“That is not for you to decide.” Kedade said. “There will be consequences for refusing…”

Sunny looked at Kedade sorrowfully. Her eyes were full of pain and doubt. Kedade moved closer to her and wiped the tears that were rolling down Sunny’s cheeks. She could not help but feel sorry for her but what could she, a lowly slave do to save Sunny from her current predicament?
