CHAPTER FIVE

I sipped on my glass of red wine, looking over at Edward, he had sharp features and a slight stubble “So Edward, do you miss home?” I asked while shifting closer on the bed. Trying to make him think that I had ulterior motives instead of just an innocent conversation, well I did have an ulterior motive which consisted of me getting more information out of him then bringing him to the station, I couldn’t just bring him in based on a hunch unfortunately, law did not work that way. It completely repulsed me to have to flirt with this unknown man.

“I do get homesick from time to time but it does help that a few of my friends and I came to the United States for the same purposes.” replied Edward he gave me a flirty smile one that didn’t quite reach his green eyes, exactly as I suspected he did bring help from Brazil, now we just have to wait for him to slip up and say something he definitely shouldn’t be saying.

I glanced over at the ring I had slipped from my index finger onto my ring finger just before leaving my apartment and then sighed longingly, Edward looked over at me with a quizzical look before following my line of sight “At least you have some worthy company.” I said before looking away in anguish. “I could always keep you company, in more ways than one.” said Edward rather excitedly and suggestively before taking hold of my hand.

Being female really had its perks, for some reason you weren’t seen as a threat which in my case as a detective was definitely a huge perk. I often used the things that many people told me would be a weakness or disadvantage as my strength, growing up anytime I told someone my career choice, they would always give me “reasons” or alternate choices, I hated it. I hated being underestimated which tends to happen a lot when you are female.

I couldn’t stand his hand being on me so before I did anything rash like shoot his hand off, I blushed at his suggestive tone or what I hoped was a blush, before running my hand along the length of his arm, Edward took this as an invitation to brush the blond stray strands of hair away from my face before gently taking a hold of my cheek. I held his hand on my face while making direct eye-contact before asking my next question..

“It’s just I never wanted to come to The Vintage after that tragic incident but my husband had insisted that the booking had already been made and its either here or I don’t go at all, aren’t you afraid of working here? After everything that has happened?” I scanned his facial features for any give away signs, my two fingers laid gently over his pulse for any sudden changes.

Sure enough there had been a drop of sweat collecting above his right eyebrow and sudden a hike in his pulse, Edward here did indeed have something to hide. “No Madam, I’m not afraid. I worked that night and if it wasn’t for that unexpected call to the suite, no one would have even known what had happened until the next morning.” Edward realized what he had just said before looking rather panicked. His crooked nose scrunched up slightly and he began to frown, “What I meant to say was we would have never known what had happened to the bosses if it wasn’t for that strange call from the suite, my English still needs a bit of work. My apologies.”

Edward may have not been the one to physically kidnap the twins but there was  absolutely no doubt in my mind that he had something to do with it. I would have to get him to admit to it, then I would be able to have solid evidence and judging by how easy he is to manipulate, it wouldn’t be to hard to get him to give up the rest of his friends.

Suddenly Edward looked anywhere in the room but at me, he gently removed his hold on my face, cleared his throat and began to move “I’m sorry but I just remembered, I have an early morning class. I’m afraid I have to cut our night short.” I was contemplating whether I should bust his ass now or continue to play this game and see where it leads, I weighed my options and decided to take the latter option, I don’t have enough to bring him in yet. I would somehow have to convince him to spend the night.

I stood up with Edward and looked him fiercely in the eyes, jutting my chest out suggestively and running my hand along his arms while pouting my bottom lip “But Ed, I thought you said you would keep me company” I used manipulation and the power of seduction, after all I did have a degree in Psychology. Giving someone a nickname or using their nickname helps establish a bond, which is exactly what I needed to do in less than five hours without actually sleeping with this ogre of a man who also just might be one of the only leads and main suspect in my case. I would have to try and do everything to keep him in this room with me until I have all the information I needed.

I pushed him gently back down on the bed and stood between his outstretched legs, pulling my blond locks to one side, I gripped the bottom of my t-shirt and lifted it above my head. I didn’t say anything about having clothing on while trying to establish a bond. Edwards green eyes watched my every movement and had been transfixed on my chest, looking lustfully at my breasts “Are you sure you have to leave now?”I said flirtatiously, I could see the battle he had been having with both his heads, stuck between the one with a brain and the one below his belt, nothing disgusted me more. If only Edward here was a smart man, he would have listened to the former.

I allowed him to place his calloused hands on my waist and pull me closer so that my breasts would be at eye level. Edward didn’t exactly look like an ogre but in my eyes he was nothing short of an ogre. “I think you’re an extremely brave man Edward.” I said in an obnoxious nasally voice. I wanted him to think I was just some bored housewife looking for an adventure away from her controlling husband. “To come all the way here, in pursuit of your dreams, I wish my husband was braver.”I said in a condescending tone. Edward ate up every word that left my mouth and had been running his hands up and down the sides of my body, not letting it leave for even a second.

“Your hands, they’re so rough and big. So manly” I stated while taking a hold of his hands and trailing them lower on my body to rest on my hips, I pushed down the urge to vomit out my diner and continued to shower Edward with false praises. It seemed I wouldn’t be able to get him to start talking without a bit of persuasion.

When he tried to unbuckle my belt, I grabbed his hands and clicked my tongue softly before pushing  both hands above his head, Edward seems pleased with being dominated so I used it to my advantage, made him get up higher on the bed closer to the bed poles and straddled his mid section, and pushed his hands above his head again, while Edward had been so enchanted by my body and anticipating my next move, I removed the handcuffs from my back pocket before clicking it into place.

He seemed surprised at first and tried tugging his hands back, but I started to remove his belt and he seemed to forget all about the cuffs. I then wrapped the belt in my hand and whacked it across his thighs softly at first but then harder every time he squirmed. Every time the belt came down on his legs, he got more fidgety but still didn’t protest, the fifth time the belt came down on him had been the time I got a howl out of him “Damn baby, do you really have to be so hard?”I smirked then pulled my gun out from my boot and pointed it at one of his knees, Edward jumped and his eyes practically started bulging out of its sockets before he started tugging forcefully at the cuffs “What the fuck! Who are you?” I laughed loudly before grinning at him wickedly; I think that frightened him more.

“Aw come on baby, how about we play a fun game?”I chuckled at his expression, Edward looked scared out of his wits. “I’m going to give you ten seconds to start spilling your guts about the night of the kidnapping or I’m going to blow your knee caps off starting with this one” I pressed my gun into his right knee cap.
