CHAPTER 7

Astraea's POV

An enchanted beauty which spread cold through every fiber of your skin, but when closer, it burns you with a passion and longing no one has ever seen.

I looked at my image in the mirror. How beautiful she was that could make Zeus so lost and devoted to her ?.

Were my natural grassy eyes too dull in front of her.Can my smile be as enchanted as hers ?

My hands slowly stroked the edge of my dusty golden hair, caressing my waist.

The light coloured strands, so soft and silky that one wouldn't mind getting tangled in while taking their last breath.

How smooth were those tendrils, that could portray her as a innocent, hidden sin.

I sighed.

Stop it!!!!...... She is just an inspiration. An inspiration to give a face to Zeus's view of emotions.

How are you so sure?

Because people can't change. They would still be the same whether it is fall or rain, snow or midsummer. It's just his insight.

Of course, just a timely thought to create his artistry.

The day was really tiring and all I wanted to do was have a peaceful mind before falling asleep. So taking the book kept on my study table, I dragged myself to the bed and fell free on it.

Werewolves.

Their nature, their honesty and loyalty gained them the devotion and support of both the supernaturals and the mortals. They served as the anchor in a raging sea. Balance between the two world of magic and mortality.

Selena, the moon goddess, her heart swelled with pride, as she watched her child serving truly to their responsibilities. So to show her happiness in them , she blessed the werewolves with the most supreme favour.

A mate.

The wolves cherished their mate. One's mate was a god's gift and blessing none could ignore. The world evolved with love and togetherness or as one thought it to be.

They say just like light and darkness, evil is the companion of good. A cycle of life which brightens you and also beholds you in the misery of darkness. Power, superiority, the urge to become the supreme being destroyed the peace of the wolves. They broke into packs, defying each other and directing it to a war of attaining the authority and command.

Seeing this Selena became distressed again. Being helpless she knocked the door of the almighty. The God with all his love embraced her problems as his own.

"The world I created is still like a little baby. They will walk and fell down, hurt themselves, cry over it but will again gain the courage to walk the rest of the path. Selena, my dear, you can only show them the path, but its them who need to overcome the hurdles and persist with. Have a little hope, it's just the beginning ."

So she did, she waited for the miracle her God predicted and the wait wasn't too long. Her first born, the first werewolf Angus took hold of the anchor again.

"We can't go on like this. The werewolves are our Goddess's pride and belief. The one to break it will be harboring the soul of a demon while residing among us. One who shall be beheaded for going against the wishes of our Goddess. I understand your worry, the supreme should be cherished , however the weaker should be the one they protect."

Angus's loyalty and bravery was cherished by everyone so his decision was as precious as Selena's. Hence, successor of Angus were considered the Royals, one who would rule the clique of werewolves. The supreme ones were allowed to form their own packs and allowed to travel and settle in any part of the world. The condition being their loyalty to the Royal family. But Angus was also blessed with the sight of foreseen future. His human heart wasn't courageous enough to trust his future successor blindly.

This dilemma was raking havoc in his mind but shortly he saw a ray of hope in a person he knew too well. His second in command, Eros, a wolf as ferocious as the raging storm but a man of never-ending calm and composed nature, just like his name Eros, a follower of love and affection. He made his second command the unseen bridge between the Royals and other packs. The successors of Eros were meant to be both a shield and sword for the Royals. Shield to protect them and their own kind while a sword to be pointed at the throne if any harm shall arise upon the community. The bloodline of a wolf who had the ability to bow their head in front of the Royals and also, behead them if necessary.

The rise of the Cerulean clan.

Selena was impressed with Angus's decision but what truly relieved her was Eros. His clan. Eons after eons, his successors followed his footsteps. They were calm and peaceful, forwarded their hands to anyone who screamed for help, they stood beside the weaker ones and helped them find their own light of glory. Fascinated and pleased by the Ceruleans, the moon goddess gifted them with a precious boon.

The gift of an essence.

The essence was just like the gift receivers, cerulean, blue like a clear sky reflecting on the mirror disguised water. The blue which symbolizes, purity and serenity. A soul so pure and beautiful that nothing could ever blackened it.

I closed the book as my mind wandered to those mysteries I have tried to solve.

The dreams where I see those blue hues, are they too pure and innocent ?

Do they not wish to harm me?

But then I remembered the bone chilling cold seeping in my skin, the numbing of my senses which drove me towards the death. No, things like that could never be innocent.

Those hues were evil, or so I wanted to believe. But a stupid part of my unconscious mind seemed to disagree. Like a child who was scared of the height but still the beautiful view urge him to keep looking into it, hypnotizing him in such as way, that he won't remember when the ground underneath his feet slowly disappeared and how he was swallowed by the evil pit of the enchanted beauty. The hues felt just like that to me.

I looked out of my window, the darkness of the night covered everything around making me wonder of the unexplainable things it was veiling.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The first classes ended with Ms. Brendon's  mythological story. Coincidentally, about the God of Love, Eros. It made me curious that whether the Eros in my book was truly a humanly depiction of the God.

Strangely, the more I read the book, the less it seemed to be a myth. It was like a story I have heard while growing up.

I am slowly loosing my mind. The repetitive face-off with those dreams were slowly blurring my line of reality and imagination. I was starting to think and see things, I could never explain to anyone.

The next class was Arts in the second floor. Without looking at anything, I marched there.

A hold on my hand though stopped my mind to go into a journey of mindless theory. A familiar masculine figure stood infront of me. Slightly shocked yet conscious enough to appreciated the strong manly built infront, my eyes roamed up and down.

Zeus cleared his throat, definitely caught me checking him out. But in my defense, he was a sight to die for.

"Well, last day you really looked interesting in my paintings. I wanted to know if you want to see them ?" His face was straight as usual, but there was a little softness detected in his tone.

"Are you inviting me--"

"Do you want to come ?." I never thought he would willing say a word to me, let alone a conversation.

But here, I stood infront of the university's popular senior inviting me in his house.

I probably would have hyperventilated or stuttered in nervousness but right now, the curiosity and eagerness to see the women of his inspiration was way more alluring than anything.

My stupid jealous heart was being only unreasonable, hurt for someone whom we just me. Nonetheless, this jealousy was the only thing that fueled and burned my logical mind.

I gazed at him with the curiosity and determination I never had before.

"I would love to."
