CHAPTER 29

Astraea's POV

I always knew running was the choice of a coward. Hell, and being a coward was something I never learned.

Yet here I stood, behind a damn locker as if it could protect me from getting squished under the catastrophe I created. A pit of my own

hell. I knew from the core of my very existence that it was stupid, but the heart was even stupider. The fear of the unknown night

kept on growing in my heart, being wary of the consequences.

But before I could jeopardize anything, my skin felt on fire, like the sweet burn spreading through every pore of my pale skin.

His hot breath fanned my ears. I was sure it was red by now, but I couldn't muster up the courage to look into his eyes.

"Running away already?"

The mock was clear in his tone and as much as I tried to ignore it, the red bloomed on my cheeks.

Sighing, I turned and looked at him, who still had the small smug smirk on his lips.

He chuckled.
