Tricia POV
I sat in my room, a bit relieved from the pain in my knees. My phone was with me. I opened a picture we had once took as families. "Father!" I called touching our father's face. My heartbeat hastened as I remembered how his mother loved me. Now I understand the reason she loved me so much. I had no mother so it was paramount that she took care of me neither does she have a daughter so she was bound to love me. She wasn't like her son. "How could she love me, like that?" I asked myself, thinking of how we played often. Father had tried all he could to reduce how we played, but Mother always told him, "Since Alex doesn't want to play, I would do that with Tricia." My eyes grew tensed as I looked at how we stood. Alex by my side then mother holding Dad. My eyes flew to the clock and I let out a sigh of relief. Hours later, Alex was back with Cherry. He was drunk and staggered as he walked. Looking at me, he let out a spit to my face. "I hope you've prepared lunch," Cherry said and I nodded. She gently allowed Alex to sit on the couch while I left to bring their lunch. "Tricia!" Alex called, and I looked at him. He was done eating. "Your husband will be here tomorrow," he said. I felt my head roll. I wasn't ready to get married. This felt strange to me, I didn't know if I should be happy or sad. It felt so good to be away from the house, away from Alex and Cherry's trouble but I don't know what my husband was like. Alex said he owns a small organization. Was that all he knew? I can't suffer all my life. "Tricia, you are a good darling," Cherry yanked on my hair. This gave me pain, but I chose not to cry as I just winked. She touched my lip, then my chest. "What if he hurts you?" She asked, smiling. "Kisses you rigorously, forces his way with you." I just stared at her, my heart beating fast. She looked at my knees and laughed. "Your knee hurts, and we have been told not to touch you until your husband comes." She licked my ear, then moved back looking at Alex. "But who are we to listen to such order? Your husband runs a small organization while Alex's friend communicates with a larger organization." "Then why do I have to be sold? Can't his friends take care of it?" Cherry only laughed at my question and then told me to clean up the area. Obediently I obeyed, praying in my heart that my husband would be good to me, and not as they suppose him to be. Hours later, I was done doing what was meant for me to do. Cherry gave me a weird look and gave me a work to do. "Get this from the shopping mall." I looked at the list she handed to me. It wasn't the list for the house but for Cherry's personal needs. "These are your needs." I placed the list on the table, but instantly regretted when I got a slap from my brother. "Get out now," he said giving me the list. "You must be back here within two hours." I walked out of the house feeling weak. My steps were heavy as I held on to the list, and the money that was with me. The money didn't consist of my transport fare, so I couldn't use transport. Whereas, my feet were heavy and I needed to be fast. Without wasting much time, I waved down a vehicle. In the shopping mall, I planned on what to do. There was no need to tell them how I spent the money, I was going to say that I bought what I could at an expensive rate. I got all except two of the items on the list. My plan was to use the money that remained as transport fare and keep the rest with myself. That won't mean I am stealing. I paid for everything then left. Cherry gave me a suspicious look as I explained to her my ordeal. My brother frowned at this, but I told them that I was telling the truth. I didn't care if they believed me or not. "Hold on," Cherry called. "I made some soup for you." I looked at her and sighed. "Thank you, but I am alright," I said. I had thoughts running through my mind. Does she want to kill me with her soup? "Take it," she said. "That's an order," Alex said. I nodded and took the bowl to my room. "This is great. We are going to control her mind, tomorrow." I heard pinning my hear to the wall. "We will make her fumble money out of her husband." My ears tickled as I heard that. They were planning to fumble money out of my husband. No matter how he is, I won't allow it. My eyes went to the bowl that I kept by the side of my bed. My lips twitched. "They chose to poison me with this soup." I carried the bowl to the closet, poured the soup out, and washed the plate. After that, I walked out of the room licking my lip as I took the plate away. "Come on, Tricia, I need you to obey us in front of your husband." I nodded my head to Cherry, watching her smile. "How does he look?" I managed to ask. "We will see him tomorrow..." I doubt if they know the man they sold me to. All they say is that he ran a small organization. I looked away and continued what I was doing. Seeing that I wasn't concerned made her smile. I knew that she thought the poison worked on me. She began telling me of how my brother needed to give me out just to pay his debt.Morgan POV I remembered the picture that I held the last day. Rivers was Theresa's brother. "You are awake," Tricia said. I smiled and gave her a peck on her forehead. My gaze went to Ethan's bed. "Our son is soundly asleep," I said. She laughed and told me how she had to keep Ethan down last night. "He is becoming more stubborn," she said. "Then I will take care of it," I said. I walked to Ethan when I sensed that he was awake. "Ethan, you are to take your bath now," He used his legs to hit my hand and smiled looking at his mother. Tricia smiled when she saw what Ethan did. I raised him to my arms and he struggled to get free. "Here we are," I said as I placed him in the bathtub. We played a little before I had his bath. "Today, I want to take us out for a fun time," I said as I walked out of the bathroom with Ethan. "Should we take our bath together?" Tricia asked. I didn't expect her to say that so I was a bit surprised. "We can't," I said thinking of how it wo
Morgan POV Two months had passed, and it was the day for Rivers's burial. He died a month ago. We all wore black as we stood by his grave. "Rivers, my brother, I remembered how you were," I said. Tricia stood beside me and held a flower. Drake and Theresa had come from their college to grace this occasion. He stepped forward with a flower and placed it on the grave. Tricia supported me but I couldn't help but feel angry. Why didn't he tell us what was happening to him? If it wasn't for Drake, we wouldn't have known about his issues. I held onto Tricia as I watched others walk to keep their flowers on Rivers grave. As the boss, my wife and I were to go last. We walked towards the grave to drop our flowers when they were done. I suggested that we should celebrate Rivers life in a restaurant. They accepted, and we left for a nearby restaurant. Our time of mourning was over, Rivers had been buried and now, life moves on. "Good morning," I heard a lady's voice while we were in
Tricia POV I chose to be stubborn even though Ethan's cry filled my heart. "Ethan, go to your father," I said. Morgan looked at Ethan, who held onto his leg. I could see him smiling and this gave me confidence to walk to him. Before I could say a word, Morgan slapped me. I felt extremely sad and my cheek stung. I looked around and saw people staring at us. This broke my heart and I left with Ethan. Entering the car, I told my driver to move. Maybe I was stupid when he slapped me. I stood there and looked angrily at him instead of pulling my gun on him. This idea made me smile. We got up and I walked up with Ethan, ignoring Felicia's call. In the room, I placed my phone on the side table while Ethan walked to his bed. Looking at my phone, I saw two missed calls and one voice message, they were all from Morgan. Taking a deep breath, I clicked on the voice message. In it, he pleaded with me and said that he would search for Cherry when his mood gets lighter. "Don't plead
Tricia POV I waited for Felicia to be done with whatever she was doing before I called my driver. "You didn't need to wait for me," she said. I told her that since it was our first day to come together, I chose to leave with her. "Alright," she said and brought out her phone. She asked if we could take her to the house she lived in with her husband. "What would you like to take there?" I asked. "A lot, just don't worry," she said. Soon, the car arrived and we got in and sat like sisters. Felicia directed us on our movement. "Stop!" She said when we got to a gate. I wanted to come with her into the house but she declined. Five minutes later, I got worried as I didn't see her come out so I decided to go in. "I will be back soon," I said to the driver. "Should I accompany you?" He asked. I remembered what Morgan told me about my driver but no, I couldn't allow him in. "No, don't worry," I said to him. This could scare Felicia. I felt safe as I was with my gun and could
Tricia POV Miranda greeted Felicia but didn't take her eyes off her. Soon, the day was clear, and Morgan decided to get Felicia a few things. Felicia behaved awkwardly, but I guessed she wasn't used to being treated the way we did. The doorbell rang, and I saw Felicia shake. "Felicia!" I called. "Don't be scared. I walked to open the door as it seemed like the person was an outsider. It was a delivery man. He asked if I was Felicia or Mrs. Bliss and later gave me a package. "Mr. Bliss told me to deliver this to Felicia Bliss," he said after I signed and then left. I called Felicia and asked her to check it out. "Who is it from?" She asked. "Morgan," I said. Felicia opened the box and looked through everything. "Where is Morgan?" She asked. "I do not know," I said. As soon as those words left my mouth, the door flew open and Morgan stepped in. "Thank you, Morgan," Felicia said. I asked him where he was but he ignored by going out. It's been long since he last ignored
Tricia POV While we were in the restaurant, I held Felicia's hand. "What are you doing, Mrs. Bliss?" She asked me. "Quit the formality," I said. "Call her sister-in-law," Morgan said making me blush. "But I am not...," she was saying. I placed a hand on her lips as I knew what she wanted to say. She might not be related to Morgan by blood, but they had a bond when they were young. I wanted to feel like I knew someone from Morgan's family. We left the restaurant when we were done eating. Miguel drove to the group's house and I wondered why he did that. "Hold on," we said to Felicia as we got out of the car. Morgan advised that I locked all the doors for the safety of Felicia. She wasn't a member of the group so there was no need for her to come along with us. Getting into the car, I saw Felicia's head buried in her lap. It felt like she was weeping. "Felicia!" I called. Morgan turned back and looked at us. "You should let her be," he said. "She is going t
