Tricia POV:
"What do you me to do?" I asked him. He looked at me with a smile on his face. Staring at me, he reminded me of how his parents loved me more than him. He told me of how he always thought that I was his sister, but changed after knowing that I am not his sister. "I hated you from the beginning, but more now that I know who you are." I stayed mute, and my anger grew. If only I had a place to run to I would have. He blamed me for his parents' death. How am I to kill the people who cared for me? I am a harmless being, and doubt I could do such a thing. "What do you want me to do?" I asked silently. "Ah!" I allowed a small shout to escape my mouth as I felt his slap sting a bite on my cheek. He got up and left to his living room. I looked up as I imagined the reason he called me. My knees were hurting but I knew not to stand up. Alex was going to kill me if I ever got up. Soon, he walked out of the room with a folder. "I need your signature on this," he said. I looked at the folder and shook my head, looking at Cherry who stood with her hand folded akimbo. I wanted to refuse but I knew it would result in my ill treatment. Smiling, he gave me a pen opening to a page that I was meant to sign, not giving me the chance to read it. He told me that I would suffer more if I didn't sign it so I did. "Very good of you, girl," Cherry said, walking to me and patting my cheek. "Get back to your room." I got up and walked to my room, thinking of what I had just signed. My eyes caught a glimpse of the word 'Auction' before I signed. Were they trying to give me out to the highest bidder? I shut my room door and walked to my bed with all sorts of thoughts flying through my mind. My eyes flew to the clock, and I knew that I was meant to prepare dinner five minutes from now. Cooking food in the evening was easy for me, but with Cherry around, it was always bad. I wasn't allowed to eat before they finished eating. She always made sure I cleaned the house and washed their plates before I ate. It was a regular evening routine whenever Cherry was around. Left to Alex, he doesn't care about how I spend the evening. "You know, when I was your age, I was smarter," Cherry said. "I'm two years older than you, but can still fool you around." I kept cooking not letting her words get to me, but stopped immediately she mentioned that I had accepted and signed into an ill-fated marriage. "What!" I exclaimed dropping what I was doing. "You heard me, right," she said, smiling and walked away. I immediately turned off the gas and looked at the door. Did they want to give me out? Looking at the pot, I felt anger grow in me. I felt belittled but the thought of having an ill-fated marriage made my face red. I had an ill-fated home and now an ill-fated marriage. Dropping the handkerchief which was on my hands, I walked to the living room, and saw Cherry on my brother's lap. "Are you done preparing the food?" He asked. I went down on my knees and pleaded, "Please, you can't do this to me. I can't marry someone I don't know." Alex pretended not to know anything I was speaking about. He asked me again if I had finished cooking, and I replied negatively. I rushed back in to finish up what I was doing, and as I was about to put a few bites in my mouth, Cherry walked in. "Do you know the reason you would be married off?" She asked, and continued, "Aaron's group slammed your brother. He can only pay by selling you to a small organization." I looked at her feeling sad. All I could do was listen to her. Tears formed on my face as I looked up. Cherry mockingly told me that she was happy that I was going to leave their life. "I can't marry a person I don't know," I said within me. A sigh of relief escaped my lip immediately she left me. I immediately threw some of what I was preparing into my mouth. When they were done eating, I washed the plate and cleaned the house before going to the kitchen. Cherry followed me to the kitchen and poured out a little spoons for me to eat. I ate like a dog before going to my bedroom. ..... The next day, I woke up with a slight headache. The sound of music blasted everywhere, almost making me deaf. Cherry had invited her friends over, and they danced to the loud music. Alex met me, by the way, and told me what to prepare, and I obeyed. I finished what I was doing, and as usual, munched on some before serving. Joy crept into my heart when the music stopped and everyone settled to eat. "Alex, you have a nice, and beautiful stepsister," One of the girls said. "Why not sell her off to someone to be paid." Alex looked at me and smiled, "It has been taken care of. Her husband will be here in a day or two days." Tears escaped my eyes as I thought about this. I only have enemies, no friends. Cherry got up from where she was and walked to Alex telling him that she would be leaving with her friends. This made me happy but the fact that I would be meeting my husband in a day or two made me feel weird. The only way I could stop this is if I die.Morgan POV I remembered the picture that I held the last day. Rivers was Theresa's brother. "You are awake," Tricia said. I smiled and gave her a peck on her forehead. My gaze went to Ethan's bed. "Our son is soundly asleep," I said. She laughed and told me how she had to keep Ethan down last night. "He is becoming more stubborn," she said. "Then I will take care of it," I said. I walked to Ethan when I sensed that he was awake. "Ethan, you are to take your bath now," He used his legs to hit my hand and smiled looking at his mother. Tricia smiled when she saw what Ethan did. I raised him to my arms and he struggled to get free. "Here we are," I said as I placed him in the bathtub. We played a little before I had his bath. "Today, I want to take us out for a fun time," I said as I walked out of the bathroom with Ethan. "Should we take our bath together?" Tricia asked. I didn't expect her to say that so I was a bit surprised. "We can't," I said thinking of how it wo
Morgan POV Two months had passed, and it was the day for Rivers's burial. He died a month ago. We all wore black as we stood by his grave. "Rivers, my brother, I remembered how you were," I said. Tricia stood beside me and held a flower. Drake and Theresa had come from their college to grace this occasion. He stepped forward with a flower and placed it on the grave. Tricia supported me but I couldn't help but feel angry. Why didn't he tell us what was happening to him? If it wasn't for Drake, we wouldn't have known about his issues. I held onto Tricia as I watched others walk to keep their flowers on Rivers grave. As the boss, my wife and I were to go last. We walked towards the grave to drop our flowers when they were done. I suggested that we should celebrate Rivers life in a restaurant. They accepted, and we left for a nearby restaurant. Our time of mourning was over, Rivers had been buried and now, life moves on. "Good morning," I heard a lady's voice while we were in
Tricia POV I chose to be stubborn even though Ethan's cry filled my heart. "Ethan, go to your father," I said. Morgan looked at Ethan, who held onto his leg. I could see him smiling and this gave me confidence to walk to him. Before I could say a word, Morgan slapped me. I felt extremely sad and my cheek stung. I looked around and saw people staring at us. This broke my heart and I left with Ethan. Entering the car, I told my driver to move. Maybe I was stupid when he slapped me. I stood there and looked angrily at him instead of pulling my gun on him. This idea made me smile. We got up and I walked up with Ethan, ignoring Felicia's call. In the room, I placed my phone on the side table while Ethan walked to his bed. Looking at my phone, I saw two missed calls and one voice message, they were all from Morgan. Taking a deep breath, I clicked on the voice message. In it, he pleaded with me and said that he would search for Cherry when his mood gets lighter. "Don't plead
Tricia POV I waited for Felicia to be done with whatever she was doing before I called my driver. "You didn't need to wait for me," she said. I told her that since it was our first day to come together, I chose to leave with her. "Alright," she said and brought out her phone. She asked if we could take her to the house she lived in with her husband. "What would you like to take there?" I asked. "A lot, just don't worry," she said. Soon, the car arrived and we got in and sat like sisters. Felicia directed us on our movement. "Stop!" She said when we got to a gate. I wanted to come with her into the house but she declined. Five minutes later, I got worried as I didn't see her come out so I decided to go in. "I will be back soon," I said to the driver. "Should I accompany you?" He asked. I remembered what Morgan told me about my driver but no, I couldn't allow him in. "No, don't worry," I said to him. This could scare Felicia. I felt safe as I was with my gun and could
Tricia POV Miranda greeted Felicia but didn't take her eyes off her. Soon, the day was clear, and Morgan decided to get Felicia a few things. Felicia behaved awkwardly, but I guessed she wasn't used to being treated the way we did. The doorbell rang, and I saw Felicia shake. "Felicia!" I called. "Don't be scared. I walked to open the door as it seemed like the person was an outsider. It was a delivery man. He asked if I was Felicia or Mrs. Bliss and later gave me a package. "Mr. Bliss told me to deliver this to Felicia Bliss," he said after I signed and then left. I called Felicia and asked her to check it out. "Who is it from?" She asked. "Morgan," I said. Felicia opened the box and looked through everything. "Where is Morgan?" She asked. "I do not know," I said. As soon as those words left my mouth, the door flew open and Morgan stepped in. "Thank you, Morgan," Felicia said. I asked him where he was but he ignored by going out. It's been long since he last ignored
Tricia POV While we were in the restaurant, I held Felicia's hand. "What are you doing, Mrs. Bliss?" She asked me. "Quit the formality," I said. "Call her sister-in-law," Morgan said making me blush. "But I am not...," she was saying. I placed a hand on her lips as I knew what she wanted to say. She might not be related to Morgan by blood, but they had a bond when they were young. I wanted to feel like I knew someone from Morgan's family. We left the restaurant when we were done eating. Miguel drove to the group's house and I wondered why he did that. "Hold on," we said to Felicia as we got out of the car. Morgan advised that I locked all the doors for the safety of Felicia. She wasn't a member of the group so there was no need for her to come along with us. Getting into the car, I saw Felicia's head buried in her lap. It felt like she was weeping. "Felicia!" I called. Morgan turned back and looked at us. "You should let her be," he said. "She is going t
