Tricia POV
I stood by the window the next day, looking at what was going on. It was expected for me to come out, but Alex had told me to stay inside. He was angry when he told me that, and I wondered why. Picking up his phone, I could see him angrily yell at someone, he was angry and I knew it. I walked back to my bed, happy. Thankfully, Cherry had left for her house early this morning which meant I could have some breathing space. I remembered how she was while we were in high school, she loved me like no other, and stopped my brother whenever he wanted to attack me but as they say, people change. Cherry suddenly changed to me during her final year. She was no longer loving and caring towards me. Everything I did was useless to her, and she reported every one of my moves to my brother who had just begun college. Our parents died when I was in my third year of college, and this made me sad. Alex stopped my education after their death, but I was lucky to be granted scholarship. I heard a knock on my door interrupting my thoughts. It was Alex. He barged into the room immediately after knocking without waiting for my response, his normal way. "Start your duty, Tricia," he said. "I'm hungry so start today by cooking." He left my room immediately he said that word. I walked to the kitchen and prepared some egg soup with assortment, and prepared the food. After serving his food, I went to eat as Cherry wasn't here. "Come, pack this plate, wash, and clean the area," Alex said. He sounded like he was scared about something, but I didn't care. I left to begin the cleaning. "I want to remind you that your husband will be here in some days," he said. "He runs a small organization, and isn't popular." He began to laugh, looking at me. "I am going to use you to milk him dry. You do not deserve a happy life." I felt anger well up me, but there was nothing I could do. My mind went to what I had been pondering on for the last two weeks. "Who killed our parents? How did they die?" I was told that they were involved in an accident, but I knew father to be a good car rider, he was skilled in avoiding accidents. Definitely, someone planned their death. I couldn't think much about it because of the loads of work I had to do. There was no friend for me as I had none so I couldn't escape this house. Neither was I a salary earner so I couldn't rent or buy a house for myself. All I could do was, endure my suffering. "Tricia!" I heard Alex call me from his room. I rushed to meet him, and stood upright, staring at him. He was standing by the door of his room. "Your husband needs your picture, " he said. "I don't have a ...." I wanted to retort. "Alright, I will be seeing him tomorrow." Alex smiled at me and shook his head. "I do not know anymore," he said. "He told me that he is busy with work." He laughed and added, "You know when someone has a small organization, they would need to work hard. I felt like poking at his face, but maintained my cool. "He has something, but you have nothing," I said and he slapped me. "I have my own business, and I am not like you," he said. "Next time consider our age gap, I am twenty-five years old while you are twenty-two years old." "You have been living under my roof since you finished college last year," he added. "You are jobless and heartless, inhumane." With that, he kicked me on my knees, and walked into his room. He came out quickly with his phone and ordered me to stand up and smile like nothing happened. He took my picture and then sent me to continue cleaning. Tears streamed down my face as I continued cleaning. My knees were still hurting, making it hard for me to move. My brother blamed me for our parents' death, but I wasn't at the scene of the accident. They were dead before being taken to the hospital, where we all arrived to see their body. That was two years ago going to three years. My body crashed as I remembered our parents. His mother, and our father. "Why did you leave me to myself?" I asked, looking up as I paused cleaning. My heart was heavy, but I knew that I needed to clean, making sure everywhere was neat before my brother came out. I was done cleaning, the pain in my knee was excruciating and I needed to go to my room. "Where are you going?" I heard someone ask and turned back. It was Alex. "My knees hurt, and I want to take a bit of rest," I said. Alex looked at me, and gave a thunderous laugh. He asked me if I wanted to watch cartoons or listen to music. This got me confused as we had only one TV in the house, and it was the one placed in the living room. "Alex, I do not understand. How is it going to help?" "Oh, you need to forget about the pain," he said. He walked to me, placed his hands on my shoulder, and switched on the TV, asking me what I want. My heartbeat hastened as he hasn't been this soft to me ever since our parents died. "Come on, sweet," he said taking me to the couch. We began to watch a musical show together and heard a knock on the door. I was about getting up, but he told me to sit while he walked to open the door. It was Cherry. She gave me an evil look and hugged Alex. "We need to leave," she said to Alex who nodded. He walked to me and turned off the TV. "You should go to your room, but do not forget to prepare lunch before we come back," He said. I was about to ask him for what time he would be back, but he already left.Morgan POV I remembered the picture that I held the last day. Rivers was Theresa's brother. "You are awake," Tricia said. I smiled and gave her a peck on her forehead. My gaze went to Ethan's bed. "Our son is soundly asleep," I said. She laughed and told me how she had to keep Ethan down last night. "He is becoming more stubborn," she said. "Then I will take care of it," I said. I walked to Ethan when I sensed that he was awake. "Ethan, you are to take your bath now," He used his legs to hit my hand and smiled looking at his mother. Tricia smiled when she saw what Ethan did. I raised him to my arms and he struggled to get free. "Here we are," I said as I placed him in the bathtub. We played a little before I had his bath. "Today, I want to take us out for a fun time," I said as I walked out of the bathroom with Ethan. "Should we take our bath together?" Tricia asked. I didn't expect her to say that so I was a bit surprised. "We can't," I said thinking of how it wo
Morgan POV Two months had passed, and it was the day for Rivers's burial. He died a month ago. We all wore black as we stood by his grave. "Rivers, my brother, I remembered how you were," I said. Tricia stood beside me and held a flower. Drake and Theresa had come from their college to grace this occasion. He stepped forward with a flower and placed it on the grave. Tricia supported me but I couldn't help but feel angry. Why didn't he tell us what was happening to him? If it wasn't for Drake, we wouldn't have known about his issues. I held onto Tricia as I watched others walk to keep their flowers on Rivers grave. As the boss, my wife and I were to go last. We walked towards the grave to drop our flowers when they were done. I suggested that we should celebrate Rivers life in a restaurant. They accepted, and we left for a nearby restaurant. Our time of mourning was over, Rivers had been buried and now, life moves on. "Good morning," I heard a lady's voice while we were in
Tricia POV I chose to be stubborn even though Ethan's cry filled my heart. "Ethan, go to your father," I said. Morgan looked at Ethan, who held onto his leg. I could see him smiling and this gave me confidence to walk to him. Before I could say a word, Morgan slapped me. I felt extremely sad and my cheek stung. I looked around and saw people staring at us. This broke my heart and I left with Ethan. Entering the car, I told my driver to move. Maybe I was stupid when he slapped me. I stood there and looked angrily at him instead of pulling my gun on him. This idea made me smile. We got up and I walked up with Ethan, ignoring Felicia's call. In the room, I placed my phone on the side table while Ethan walked to his bed. Looking at my phone, I saw two missed calls and one voice message, they were all from Morgan. Taking a deep breath, I clicked on the voice message. In it, he pleaded with me and said that he would search for Cherry when his mood gets lighter. "Don't plead
Tricia POV I waited for Felicia to be done with whatever she was doing before I called my driver. "You didn't need to wait for me," she said. I told her that since it was our first day to come together, I chose to leave with her. "Alright," she said and brought out her phone. She asked if we could take her to the house she lived in with her husband. "What would you like to take there?" I asked. "A lot, just don't worry," she said. Soon, the car arrived and we got in and sat like sisters. Felicia directed us on our movement. "Stop!" She said when we got to a gate. I wanted to come with her into the house but she declined. Five minutes later, I got worried as I didn't see her come out so I decided to go in. "I will be back soon," I said to the driver. "Should I accompany you?" He asked. I remembered what Morgan told me about my driver but no, I couldn't allow him in. "No, don't worry," I said to him. This could scare Felicia. I felt safe as I was with my gun and could
Tricia POV Miranda greeted Felicia but didn't take her eyes off her. Soon, the day was clear, and Morgan decided to get Felicia a few things. Felicia behaved awkwardly, but I guessed she wasn't used to being treated the way we did. The doorbell rang, and I saw Felicia shake. "Felicia!" I called. "Don't be scared. I walked to open the door as it seemed like the person was an outsider. It was a delivery man. He asked if I was Felicia or Mrs. Bliss and later gave me a package. "Mr. Bliss told me to deliver this to Felicia Bliss," he said after I signed and then left. I called Felicia and asked her to check it out. "Who is it from?" She asked. "Morgan," I said. Felicia opened the box and looked through everything. "Where is Morgan?" She asked. "I do not know," I said. As soon as those words left my mouth, the door flew open and Morgan stepped in. "Thank you, Morgan," Felicia said. I asked him where he was but he ignored by going out. It's been long since he last ignored
Tricia POV While we were in the restaurant, I held Felicia's hand. "What are you doing, Mrs. Bliss?" She asked me. "Quit the formality," I said. "Call her sister-in-law," Morgan said making me blush. "But I am not...," she was saying. I placed a hand on her lips as I knew what she wanted to say. She might not be related to Morgan by blood, but they had a bond when they were young. I wanted to feel like I knew someone from Morgan's family. We left the restaurant when we were done eating. Miguel drove to the group's house and I wondered why he did that. "Hold on," we said to Felicia as we got out of the car. Morgan advised that I locked all the doors for the safety of Felicia. She wasn't a member of the group so there was no need for her to come along with us. Getting into the car, I saw Felicia's head buried in her lap. It felt like she was weeping. "Felicia!" I called. Morgan turned back and looked at us. "You should let her be," he said. "She is going t
