Tricia's POV
I stayed in the room patiently as instructed by my supposed husband. I heard all Cherry said about him and prayed that he would be nice to me and not give in to their demands. Soon, I drifted off and slept, but my sleep wasn't as sweet as I wanted, it was interrupted by a knock on my door. I got up with determination to talk back to whoever was at my door. By this, I would get to know if they fear my husband. Opening the door with my mouth opened to shout at whoever it was, I closed it when I saw the tall figure standing next to me. "Morgan!" I looked at his face. Why was he here? "Do you want anything?" "I just want to see your face." I stared at him, confusion written all over my face. Anyway, he was my husband, so I let out a smile. "I am tired." "You should be." He raised my head. "You should get back inside." Such a weird behavior. Did he only come to see my face? I guess I am no longer sleepy. It felt boring to stay in the room, guess it's because I have never been here for long. "Would you like to watch movies?" I heard from outside. Do not tell me he is still by the door. I giggled, walking to the door. While we were in the living room, I saw Cherry using a little face towel to wipe her sweat. Looking at Morgan, his attention wasn't on the screen, but on his phone. He busied himself pressing his phone. Knowing that it would be rude staring into his phone, I kept my gaze on the movie. "I need to take this call." He said, getting up to his feet and walked away. Cherry got into a heated argument with Alex in my presence, making me happy. I didn't know what they were arguing on, but they were arguing. "Tell me what you want, Tricia." Cherry looked at me like I stole something from her, but before I could reply Morgan walked to my side. He looked from me to Cherry and then asked if she was preparing dinner. "Not my work," she said. "Then it's Alex's." Alex walked forward and rebuked Morgan, who gave him no regard. Minutes later, Alex succumbed to Morgan who smiled, giving Cherry a task to do. Cherry left the house to get what my supposed husband requested of her to buy and returned minutes later, placing the item down. "You will get out of this place, tomorrow." It was Cherry, she looked angry at Morgan. I got up and did what is required as a wife to do, calming Morgan but I guess he didn't want it as he shove me away. "Thankfully, you will no longer have a maid," Morgan smiled, and I guess the realization of what he said got to them. Alex, who wasn't ready to give up, told him that they would kidnap me but Morgan only smiled. They went as far as calling Morgan a poor man. Morgan received a call, and went aside. It sounded like an urgent matter, but he acted normal. The day sun began to go down, and Cherry left the house. I looked at Alex who was sad. "Have you prepared dinner?" I asked, causing Morgan to look at me. "You know that I can't cook." He answered. Morgan pulled me back as I tried standing. He played with some numbers, and placed an order. He never ordered for Alex. I felt bad for him as I was eating my dinner. Who will be there for him? "I will get some meal outside." He said. "Well, you can also order." Morgan said. **** The next day, I got up from the bed and had my bath remembering that I would be leaving this house. I felt a bereaved feeling rush over me as I remembered how I grew up. My life has been in this building apart from my education. It would be nice going elsewhere but I felt a sense of belonging. I heard a knock as I was putting on my earrings. It was Alex, but I didn't open for him. I didn't want to see anyone, except my husband this morning. "Tricia, remember my mother took you as her child, do not forget her son." That was one of his way of fooling me, but now is not. I didn't say a word as I listened to him. Minutes later, I heard Morgan's voice, he asked if I was done and I replied that I was coming out with my bag. "You do not need to take anything from this house, save your phone." My eyes blinked as I opened the door. Alex looked at us and asked what a poor man like Morgan can give me. I sensed some truthfulness in his words, but remembering that I must always obey my husband I waved it away. He may have some better female clothes in his house and enough to provide for us. "I transferred twenty dollar to you." Morgan said. Alex looked at him with a smile telling him that only a poor man would do that. "Morgan, let's go," I was tired of Alex words and will like to be alone with my husband. Morgan looked at me with a bordering smile, and sat on a couch. "I thought you were leaving," Alex said, pride all over him. "Where is your crazy girlfriend?" Morgan asked. "Won't you like her to see Tricia for the last time? Or is she still tired from the work she did yesterday?" I walked to Morgan, pleading that we leave but instead he shouted at me making Alex laugh. "You insult us again and you will be taken down along with your small organization." Alex threatened. With a smile on his face, Morgan walked to Alex and patted his back. "See you whenever." With that we left the house.Morgan POV I remembered the picture that I held the last day. Rivers was Theresa's brother. "You are awake," Tricia said. I smiled and gave her a peck on her forehead. My gaze went to Ethan's bed. "Our son is soundly asleep," I said. She laughed and told me how she had to keep Ethan down last night. "He is becoming more stubborn," she said. "Then I will take care of it," I said. I walked to Ethan when I sensed that he was awake. "Ethan, you are to take your bath now," He used his legs to hit my hand and smiled looking at his mother. Tricia smiled when she saw what Ethan did. I raised him to my arms and he struggled to get free. "Here we are," I said as I placed him in the bathtub. We played a little before I had his bath. "Today, I want to take us out for a fun time," I said as I walked out of the bathroom with Ethan. "Should we take our bath together?" Tricia asked. I didn't expect her to say that so I was a bit surprised. "We can't," I said thinking of how it wo
Morgan POV Two months had passed, and it was the day for Rivers's burial. He died a month ago. We all wore black as we stood by his grave. "Rivers, my brother, I remembered how you were," I said. Tricia stood beside me and held a flower. Drake and Theresa had come from their college to grace this occasion. He stepped forward with a flower and placed it on the grave. Tricia supported me but I couldn't help but feel angry. Why didn't he tell us what was happening to him? If it wasn't for Drake, we wouldn't have known about his issues. I held onto Tricia as I watched others walk to keep their flowers on Rivers grave. As the boss, my wife and I were to go last. We walked towards the grave to drop our flowers when they were done. I suggested that we should celebrate Rivers life in a restaurant. They accepted, and we left for a nearby restaurant. Our time of mourning was over, Rivers had been buried and now, life moves on. "Good morning," I heard a lady's voice while we were in
Tricia POV I chose to be stubborn even though Ethan's cry filled my heart. "Ethan, go to your father," I said. Morgan looked at Ethan, who held onto his leg. I could see him smiling and this gave me confidence to walk to him. Before I could say a word, Morgan slapped me. I felt extremely sad and my cheek stung. I looked around and saw people staring at us. This broke my heart and I left with Ethan. Entering the car, I told my driver to move. Maybe I was stupid when he slapped me. I stood there and looked angrily at him instead of pulling my gun on him. This idea made me smile. We got up and I walked up with Ethan, ignoring Felicia's call. In the room, I placed my phone on the side table while Ethan walked to his bed. Looking at my phone, I saw two missed calls and one voice message, they were all from Morgan. Taking a deep breath, I clicked on the voice message. In it, he pleaded with me and said that he would search for Cherry when his mood gets lighter. "Don't plead
Tricia POV I waited for Felicia to be done with whatever she was doing before I called my driver. "You didn't need to wait for me," she said. I told her that since it was our first day to come together, I chose to leave with her. "Alright," she said and brought out her phone. She asked if we could take her to the house she lived in with her husband. "What would you like to take there?" I asked. "A lot, just don't worry," she said. Soon, the car arrived and we got in and sat like sisters. Felicia directed us on our movement. "Stop!" She said when we got to a gate. I wanted to come with her into the house but she declined. Five minutes later, I got worried as I didn't see her come out so I decided to go in. "I will be back soon," I said to the driver. "Should I accompany you?" He asked. I remembered what Morgan told me about my driver but no, I couldn't allow him in. "No, don't worry," I said to him. This could scare Felicia. I felt safe as I was with my gun and could
Tricia POV Miranda greeted Felicia but didn't take her eyes off her. Soon, the day was clear, and Morgan decided to get Felicia a few things. Felicia behaved awkwardly, but I guessed she wasn't used to being treated the way we did. The doorbell rang, and I saw Felicia shake. "Felicia!" I called. "Don't be scared. I walked to open the door as it seemed like the person was an outsider. It was a delivery man. He asked if I was Felicia or Mrs. Bliss and later gave me a package. "Mr. Bliss told me to deliver this to Felicia Bliss," he said after I signed and then left. I called Felicia and asked her to check it out. "Who is it from?" She asked. "Morgan," I said. Felicia opened the box and looked through everything. "Where is Morgan?" She asked. "I do not know," I said. As soon as those words left my mouth, the door flew open and Morgan stepped in. "Thank you, Morgan," Felicia said. I asked him where he was but he ignored by going out. It's been long since he last ignored
Tricia POV While we were in the restaurant, I held Felicia's hand. "What are you doing, Mrs. Bliss?" She asked me. "Quit the formality," I said. "Call her sister-in-law," Morgan said making me blush. "But I am not...," she was saying. I placed a hand on her lips as I knew what she wanted to say. She might not be related to Morgan by blood, but they had a bond when they were young. I wanted to feel like I knew someone from Morgan's family. We left the restaurant when we were done eating. Miguel drove to the group's house and I wondered why he did that. "Hold on," we said to Felicia as we got out of the car. Morgan advised that I locked all the doors for the safety of Felicia. She wasn't a member of the group so there was no need for her to come along with us. Getting into the car, I saw Felicia's head buried in her lap. It felt like she was weeping. "Felicia!" I called. Morgan turned back and looked at us. "You should let her be," he said. "She is going t
