OMEGA LAND
Betty's POV: Something smells good, where am I?. I feel like someone's watching me,what are they saying?..the last thing I remember was getting drugged and blacking out..damn I still feel dizzy..I better check on Eva. "Eva, can you hear me?" I asked in my mind, trying to connect to her...but no reply.."EVA!!" I screamed, in my mind. ”My ear hurts..please stop with the yelling , I'm here,okay?..my head just hurts" my wolf replied, sounding annoyed. "I think we got captured, someone's here watching us,let's pretend to still be asleep, then wait to attack..th.." I was about to finish my sentence, when a voice spoke with amusement. "Child, are you gonna keep laying there like you're still sleeping?" the old woman asked ,she smelled like a wolf and... omega. I didn't answer, still sticking to my sleeping beauty plan, how could she know I am awake,maybe..but she spoke yet again ,this time sounding like she came closer. "Your eyelashes are trembling, your breathing is uneven and your heart is pounding, child hurry up and get up,you must be hungry and have a lot of questions" she now walked away from me,the next thing I could hear was the sound of cutting. “We have been caught”,Eva stated,"Yeah I noticed.." I replied sarcastically,to her before blocking her out. I got up,opening my eyes and looking at my surroundings. It looked like a small hut with wooden bowls and spoons, herbs..some in jars,a mortar and pestle, scissors, and bandages . Some rays of sun seeping in and a burning fire with a pot on top..in a strange way,the smell of the herbal medicine in the room seemed to have that effect of making you unknowingly seem to relax. There was an old woman by the counter, cutting some vegetables with a knife, quietly humming a tone. "Where am I?" I walked towards her and asked almost immediately ,she didn't look up at me. “ You're on omega land" she answered simply, washing her hands and walking to me. "How are your injuries, child?" she asked, studying me,it was then I noticed I was wrapped in a few straps of bandages,my wounds had been treated..it made me loosen my guard a little, very little around her. “I'm on omega land?"I asked, ignoring her question and focusing on gathering information. "Yes child ,that's where you are",she smiled warmly at me before adding. "You must have been through so much at such a young age to make you this cautious",she walked past me to check whatever she was cooking,I felt my mouth water when the smell hit me,when was the last time I had something to eat aside from molten bread, can't remember,I thought and that's when my stomach chose to growl loudly to make its presence fully known. I blushed..as I heard the old woman chuckle. "You must be hungry, you can call me Rosia by the way child,I won't hurt you" she said and for a weird reason, I believed her,as she handed me a wooden plate of porridge..hesitating but eventually I grabbed it from her cautiously..with one spoon in my mouth,I think I cried out in pure joy..chucking another spoon and the next in my mouth..that went on for a while, until I slammed the plate down in relief ,rubbing around my belly in satisfaction, believe me if there was poison in that food,I would died a million times. I looked up to see her staring at me,eyes wild open in surprise. "Em..I was hungry.."I said giving a nervous smile, totally embarrassed but well..don't regret anything. "I guess you indeed were'',with which she gave a chuckle. "Come child..",she began walking outside and I followed her warily..whether she gave me food, treated me..I was still suspicious, you couldn't blame me, for an omega, life was hard and uncaring..and you just had to learn to be cautious of everyone around you. I walked outside and was left stunned. It was beautiful. There were various trees, grasses, small huts of different sizes and farmlands with a view. An astonishing view almost like the sky was so close,so bright with so many beautiful colors, calling to whoever gazed into its beauty . "Around here,we're all omegas and farmers. We help each other and only have each other,we are able to survive through farming on this land by giving part of our harvest to the Alpha and in the exchange they leave us alone..and that's how we have been able to live in peace.." she explained..still walking as people we passed by, waved at us with a smile and nervously I waved back.Everything seemed so peaceful..so happy.. "So you mean in exchange for producing crops, they let you be as long as you give them part of your harvest?"I asked, to be sure I didn't miss anything out. "Yes child,by the way what's your name?",she replied . I felt unsure if I wanted to answer her question, wasn't sure if I should tell her my name..but her gaze strangely made me feel like I could trust her.. "If you don't want to tell.." she started, but I interrupted. "..Betty..it's Betty, that's my name",I said and she paused before she smiled. "That's a beautiful name" she said,I felt myself blush..no one had ever told me I was pretty or my name was pretty,it was a new feeling but it felt nice. Then I remembered I had been drugged earlier. "Then how did I get here and who drugged me?" Rosia was about answering, when a man being dragged by a young woman about my age came towards us. "Hurry up and apologize",the woman shouted at the man, they smelled like omegas and he looked pitiful. “I'm sorry,I drugged you. I thought you were a rogue..so I tried to knock you out,sorry.." the man said,he looked young with boyish charm and freckles around his nose, blue eyes and stubborn brown hair,he reminded me of a puppy..a cute one and I strangely had the urge to pet his hair, but held back knowing that would be weird. Oh he's the one who knocked me out..cool..I guess, note the sarcasm. "Sorry,I apologize for my little brother",the woman said. They looked similar, now that I looked at them, brown hair, blue eyes, her hair was packed in two ponytails. "No problem,I guess..thankfully no harm was done" I said, now suddenly thinking of my brother...depressed much..well yeah. “I'm Emilia and this is my brother Josh" she introduced, while ‘Josh’ gave a shy hi,now waiting for me to introduce myself too. ".. I'm Betty..",I finally said. "Well it's nice to meet you Betty,I feel like we will get along well.." they both said, before Emilia added,"Well we will leave you two alone, bye Betty", with that she dragged her brother yet again away..they seemed so close..I felt my wolf try to console me,she missed Jasper's wolf, ‘luca’ as well..I could feel it. If only he was here,I thought as we kept walking..as Rosia was showing me around me..I don't think I was still listening after a while..but that's when I heard it..a clack,a broken plate.I looked up,turning my gaze to see a boy of not more than 11 or 12 years old ,staring right at me with shock, joy, then fear. Fear I would disappear. I felt it too like he could be another hallucination. "Jasper..?" "Betty?" I nodded at him, tears in my eyes "Betty!!" he yelled, running into my embrace,I bent down to his level and hugged him tightly “I'm so happy you're safe"I said, with tears in my eyes. "I missed you so much,Betty," he said, while hugging me with his little arms. And that's when I realized, I would do anything just so he could be safe.. "I missed you too,Jasper"..,I whispered back.BETTY'S POV — Dream Of The Moon Days passed. Betty hadn’t seen Alex since he caught her trying to escape again. He hadn’t returned to threaten her or gloat. He simply vanished, as if her very existence no longer required his attention. And maybe that was worse. Lisa came to check on her, soft-voiced and uncertain, but Betty never responded. She kept her gaze on the window. On the sky beyond the walls. When Lisa left, Betty would sit in silence, tracing old scars on her wrist or folding and unfolding the crumpled scrap of parchment she’d kept hidden beneath her bed. A torn piece of a map. A half-baked plan. A dream she still refused to bury. Jasper. She thought of his face that day — the day she was dragged away. No words were said. No goodbye. He had only watched her go, eyes wide and empty. He hadn’t cried. She didn’t know what her plan had been exactly — she just knew she had to get back to him. To Omega Land. To convince them all to run. They might have bee
ALEX'S POV “She’s not your mother.” The words echo long after Kelvin retreats into silence, leaving Alex alone in the vast, candlelit office of his. His jaw tightens. He had scoffed at the comparison. Laughed it off. But now? He can’t stop thinking about it. The eyes. The silence. The broken fire behind them. It isn’t the same, he tells himself—but the more he tries to believe it, the more it claws at him. She isn’t like his mother. She’s worse. She’s defiant. She’s plotting. He turns sharply, footsteps ringing against the cold stone as he strides through the corridor, anger rising like a storm behind his eyes. He can’t breathe in this doubt. He needs control—over her, over himself. He rounds the corner and halts. Her scent. It’s stronger. Wrong. It smells of forest. And bloodroot. And distance. His eyes narrow. He throws open her door with a force that nearly rips it from its hinges. There she is—standing by the edge of her bed, startled, fr
BETTY’S POV She didn’t like walking this close to the edge of the training grounds. Too many eyes. Too many smirks. Too many reminders that she didn’t belong here. The she-wolves nearby barely hid their whispers. Their giggles curled like smoke around her ears, but Betty kept her gaze forward. She gripped the strap of her satchel tightly and walked like she wasn’t hurting, like she hadn’t just heard one of them call her "the broken pet." She was used to the stares. She was used to being treated like air—or dirt. But nothing could prepare her for the cold presence that crept up her spine. She stopped. Her eyes lifted instinctively, drawn like a magnet. There he was. Alex Crude. Watching her from the far side of the field, half-hidden beneath the shade of a tall pine. Alone. Arms crossed. Expression unreadable. Her breath caught. He made no move to approach. He just stared, as if she were something under glass, a specimen he couldn’t quite figure out. She hated
* BETTY'S MEMORIES* The house always smelled like smoke, rotting wood, and cheap liquor. Not the kind that warmed you from the inside, but the kind that soured a man's blood and twisted his soul. Betty remembered that scent more vividly than she remembered her mother's lullabies. It was the scent of her childhood. Their house wasn’t a home. It was a broken thing — four damp walls stitched together by mould and silence. It stood on the far edge of the pack’s land, tucked away behind the chicken coops and drying lines where no Alpha ever bothered to look. In winter, the wind slipped through the cracks in the wood like a thief, stealing warmth, stealing hope. There were nights it felt colder inside than out, and Jasper would curl into her side, shivering, as if her ribs could offer what the world refused: comfort. Their father was always out — gambling, drinking, spilling stories in smoke-filled dens about the Luna he could’ve had, the warrior he would’ve been, if not for the curse
BETTY'S POV The moon spilled silver light across the floorboards, soft and silent. Betty sat by the window, knees drawn to her chest, her fingers still caked with earth. She hadn’t washed them. Not yet. A breeze drifted in through the cracked window, carrying the scent of pine and dusk and the faint iron tang of blood — imagined or real, she couldn't tell anymore. The room was dim. Not dark. Not light. Just… tired. Like her. She stared at the patch of ground outside where the trees swayed gently. Somewhere out there, beneath the soil, lay the small creature she’d buried with her own hands. A quiet mercy for a soul that hadn’t asked for the pain it received. Just like her. Her throat tightened. The burial hadn’t been for the animal. It had been for something inside her. Something that had been dying slowly — gasping, crying, waiting for someone to come. No one ever did. Until she came for herself. A tear slipped down her cheek. Just one. She wiped it away
Chapter Title: No One CameBETTY'S POV The wind carried a strange silence that day. Betty walked without resistance. She didn’t know where Lisa was taking her. She didn’t ask. Her legs moved out of habit, but her mind remained numb. Like a hole had opened inside her, and she couldn’t tell whether she was falling into it or already at the bottom. They passed through one of the less-used paths behind the packhouse. Overgrown. Cracked earth. Forgotten. Just like her. Lisa was speaking softly behind her — words Betty couldn’t hear. Or didn’t care to. Then… a sound. Faint. Shaky. A cry. Betty paused. Head tilted. Her eyes scanned the shadows near a leaning fence overrun by wild vines. There it was. A small creature. A cat? A dog? It didn’t matter. It was trembling, whimpering, its body broken and bloodied. One eye swollen shut. Flies already circling its wound. It couldn’t move. Could barely breathe. Lisa stepped forward. “Oh no… oh goddess, what happened to it?”
