SELENA

"Go on." Said King Jared.

His eyes lingered on us longer, too long, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he only gestured for us to leave.

Selene and I stood up, bowed to the Alphas, and left.

Numerous slaves were out already. Standing on the stage with their faces filled with eagerness to impress their alphas.

Selene and I were the same.

However, I was a bit nervous. Not for myself but for Selene.

I turned to look at her, and as expected, her cheeks were slightly red. Her fingers were damp, and she clutched her dress nervously.

I wrapped my fingers around hers. Her eyes wavered, and then, she looked at me. Our eyes met. "Selena..." She mumbled.

I nodded slightly. "It's okay. We are doing this together." I assured her.

Selene's brows raised, seemingly surprised that I had talked to her after ignoring her for so long. Her lips curved in a bright smile, and she covered my hand with hers. "Thank you, Selena. I will do my best." She whispered.
