#2- Four eyes

Standing in front of the school building she stared at the flowers lining the school entrance a mixture of roses and lavenders. She looked at the center of her life for the past few years "School" She could not believe she had lived through it all.

She remembered wishing the school days passed more quickly and now she had just less than a year left and she couldn't wait to leave, the only thing she was going to miss was her hideout in the old abandoned school library and old Miss Selena.

She was intrigued by women who could live their entire lives single, without children, biological or adopted without anything, that would certainly be lonely and you needed a different level of strength to live like that.

A lot of times she wondered what the problem was.

Did the woman not like men at all? Was she into women and afraid to go out? Is that the reason she ended up staying alone? Or was she like her? Not wanted? They were questions, but she didn't know who to ask.

Despite everything, she would still miss the old cat, she was pretty that's for sure, but she kept to herself, and in all the years she had stayed here, they had only spoken a handful.

Usually, she would say hi and the cat would meow back in response and purr back to sleep afterward, she didn't like talking at all.

Robson High won't be Robson High without old miss Selena, the grouchy cat who lurked in the library with her, but she hadn't seen her for a while now she wondered if she got caught up in something or died of old age somewhere, the thought saddened her, she didn't want to feel alone again, or did she find a lover?

The whole school was bubbling, everyone seemed caught up in something, laughing and making fun of each other, checking out the cute guys, and doing homework late together.

She knew all their faces and a names, but she had never called their names before, she couldn't remember when last she spoke to anyone in school by herself unless she was spoken to.

She accelerated her pace and went through the less crowded areas to go reach her destination, with a little luck she would be there without drama.

No one seemed to be noticing her yet and that was a relief. She nearly bumped into Cassy and her childhood friend Cameroon in the hallway.

The girls hissed at her and went on with their lives, but someone threw a crumpled paper in her face. "That's called friendship baby, or rather four eyes, too bad no one wants to be your friend".

Jade tweaked her glasses and turned around to see who was expressing her thoughts completely and surely April Wilson never disappointed.

She moved back a little and blinked her eyes softly. She didn't know what to say, she didn't know whether she was supposed to say anything. The blonde Barbie didn't like impertinent answers, although she didn't know any.

"Still in your pyjamas I see, oh sorry. " she faked a gasp "I meant your most expensive clothes"

Then she burst into laughter, and everyone around them joined in. Jade stood there in wait for her dismissal. She was a weakling around here, she couldn't fight and she didn't hide it.

She had expensive clothes that were still untouched, she just didn't have that much confidence to come to school in a skirt and heels, she preferred to wear her sneakers in peace and brace herself for the harassment she got every day. "I don't need them," Jade thought.

"Oh, I heard she went to a party with those disgusting glasses, PJ bottoms, and a sweatshirt so lame, jeez" Amelia, April's best friend chipped in.

She looked down on her chest, in an attempt to hide her embarrassment which her red cheeks were giving out, it wasn't her fault, that day she didn't know her sister was throwing a party.

She was hungry and decided to go down for a little snack and it ended up as the worst mistake she'd ever done and the second worst day of her life, but of course, April's main role in her life was to make her feel bad.

"Yeah, she probably thought she'd gain more attention that day with her best clothes. She wanted to tell her she was lying, but then it would prolong everything so she zipped her mouth.

The was a lot of laughter around her, she didn't want to look up. April scrunched her nose in thick disgust and drew closer.

Even a fool would have known what was about to happen, she was quiet and watched April Wilson kick her in the stomach, her small skirt flew up in the process, revealing black undergarments.

It gained her some wolf whistles from a lot of guys mostly and some " go girl". Jade landed on her butt, but made no sound at all, mostly she didn't dare to cry in front of anyone but sometimes it became unbearable.

She looked around and everyone was enjoying the show with laughter in their eyes, no one had tears of concern or unspoken anger, occasionally she would get pitiful glances but no one tried to stop the bullying as usual.

April had strong connections and kept a lot of biker friends and to top it all her mother was the principal.

Sometimes anonymous reports would be filed against her for bad conduct and after a day or two the case would be closed and everything would go back to normal, for some reason the authorities and school board just couldn't find fault with April so there was no use reporting.

She waited so long to inform her parents, but the time was never right, eventually, she gave up and accepted being April's favorite plaything but it sucked.

Her eyes were starting to blur, her stomach was in so much pain she felt like throwing up. Such open humiliation from April was normal, mostly it was done in the school halls, classrooms, and abandoned classrooms and no one else was allowed to pick on her except April.

The humiliation was to be engraved in her mind forever like the others, adding to the stack of bad experiences in her life. Her mind felt heavy and pained.

She'd never cried in front of anybody before, but every kick became unbearable. She'd rather be stabbed or faint than shatter in front of everyone here.

"Stop sending those annoying letters, we all know it's you who has been sending them" April kicked at her again, and her eyes fluttered shut. "What are you talking about? I didn't write any letter, " she defended herself, but it only made it worse.

"Liar! If you didn't report me then who did? " She fisted her hair, but Jade didn't move she didn't fight back and it annoyed April the more.

"Are you ignoring me?" She was beginning to taste blood in her mouth, she wrapped her hands around her abdomen, it was hurting so bad she could see stars. She pleaded for her to stop, but the girl was angry and didn't stop, her world was spinning.

Someone roughly snatched April away from her and flung her aside. The darkness was calling to her and it seemed too peaceful, she let her eyes close, and she didn't miss the principal voice ringing loudly in the hallway.

" What have you done this time A-p-r-i-l Wilson!" Then she slipped into her peaceful abyss. The principal happened to be passing by with a new student at the time and saw the whole action with her eyes.

The boy pushed everyone out of his way and yelled at anyone to call the ambulance, everyone rushed to obey but the principal beat them to it.

He looked extremely handsome with long black hair a straight nose and blue eyes, he stood around 6'2 feet and was typically gorgeous.

He towered over April when he stood in front of her. "Are you even human?" His jaw was clenched tight.

She didn't look very scared and regretful for her actions, her mother stood shocked too, she had never witnessed her in action before.

"To my office now!!" She pointed a stern finger in the opposite direction. April slung her bag and dashed away from the handsome boy's hard and cold glare.

He reached down and bunched the beaten up self into his arms, she looked so frail and her clothes were a plus size, but there was no doubt underneath it was a glorious body.

He didn't care what she did, she didn't deserve the abuse she got, and he was beginning to rethink his admission there. Without a word, he picked her up and headed outside
