#after three years#
*Janice Pov*
“Nervous?” Bhai asked, knocking on my door.
“It is an understatement.” I replied, and Abby chuckled from beside me.
“What? How can I even meet him?” I asked them frowning.
“Janice! You are just meeting him. It’s not like you will get married today itself.” He replied.
“And by the way, talk in a little low voice. They may hear you from here itself.” Abby said, and I sighed.
“What did you think when you met the first guy who visited you for a marriage proposal?” I asked holding her hand.
“Hey! Don’t let my wife take a path down that lane.” Bhai threatened.
“Ok, my only fear was what type of guy he is and will I even feel attracted.” She replied ignoring her husband.
“See, you have an advantage here. You already know him and ask him about his love life and mainly about that girl, whatever her name is.” He said in a serious tone.
“I will!” I said nodding.
“Looks like they are here.” Abby said hearing the talks.
“Did they come here in their cars from beside the house?” Bhai asked snickering.
“Hey! Go and greet them.” Abby said, pushing him outside the room.
“Ready?” She asked, turning towards me.
“I guess.” I replied, releasing a breath and smiled.
“So, what are your hobbies?” He asked when we were sent to the terrace to talk.
“General things! Reading lots of books and then cooking. But I also play piano.” I replied.
“What about you?” I asked him when he calmly nodded.
“Me? I like to play some football and then some cricket. And also to travel a lot.” He replied, smiling and I smiled back.
We talked for some more time about us, and nothing much changed like he always used to tell all his friends that he will continue his father’s business, he started joining his father recently.
“Do you have any present girlfriend, or you know any ex-girlfriend whom you still love?” I asked him directly and for, a second he looked shocked.
“No! Do you?” he asked after a few minutes.
“No! But what about Parul Mitra?” I asked him not able to stop myself.
“Oh, her! We are separate from past one year.” He replied, and I nodded.
“I really thought you both were always serious about each other.” I said a complete lie.
“We were never serious. She is Hindu, and I am Christian and my family would never accept the marriage, which we know from the beginning.” He explained, and I nodded but sighed in relief inside.
“Actually, she is going to get married soon to her best friend. It is an arranged marriage, but you know they both know each other and all.” He added sipping his tea.
“You are still in touch with her?” I asked him, hoping this is not like every time they both getting back together.
“We have common friends and all. Also, we both are good friends, and we want to keep it there.” He replied.
“Ok!” I said and this time I sighed in relief outside, but he was looking around.
“I still can’t believe we both are neighbors and our parents are friends with each other, but we never met in the college at all.” He said again to which he already said when we both came here.
“We both have different life as we both are really different.” I said shrugging.
“So then we are opposite poles right?” he asked flirting.
“Right!” I replied, hiding my smile, but couldn’t in the end.
After some time, it was his time to go, and they said they will call about the decision. But before that we both decided to meet a few more times to decide properly, and my parents accepted along with his.
“So does he have any girlfriend or something? Tell me right now and I will say ‘No’ from your side.” Bhai asked and I smiled at him.
“I asked him and he said no. Their parents love me, and our parents love him. We both talked and maybe there is a chance, but I want to meet him again and see whether there is a chance that he still likes Parul.” I said frowning.
“Janice! He is just the first guy and there will be many so don’t take a haste decision. I think it would be better if you meet some more people.” He said.
“Bhai! I know it is little hard thing, but I will have a chance to spend my rest of life with my first crush, and I want to see everything. If I think there will be any problem I will back away.” I said, smiling and he nodded, still frowning.
Keep your eyes open and see Janice. Don’t get hurt! I thought to myself and thought of him.
*Adithya Pov*
“You are really sure right?” I asked her again which I have been for the past two weeks.
“Adithya! We are going to get engaged in a few days and then married in one month. At least now stop the question.” She replied frowning.
“But Parul, you didn’t talk to me during the whole engineering. After that we talked but now suddenly we are getting married. I have every right to doubt.” I said leaning back.
“You are not that adorable best friend of mine anymore. Always looking everywhere that here something wrong is going on or there is something wrong going on.” She said rolling her eyes, and I chuckled.
“What to do? I should be always on duty. All I want is you think of everything again and then decide ok.” I said, and she sighed leaning back.
“Is the problem, here is David? Then don’t worry because he is going to get married to his family’s friend’s daughter.” She said, and I frowned.
“And how do you know that?” I asked her.
“We are still friends. We didn’t break up at a bad situation. My Dad will never allow me to marry any other person outside the caste leave the religion.” She replied.
“Hmm... all I want is you think again.” I said that again, and she nodded saluting.
And we both chuckled as few people saw her and glanced at her weirdly. We left the café and went for some more shopping for the engagement.
“You are happy to live here in Mumbai right?” I asked after dropping her at her house.
“Yeah! I will get more assignments here for modeling. I want to be a good one.” She replied smiling.
“You will be.” I said, holding her hand.
“Duty calls.” I said hearing my phone ringing.
“Yes, officer.” She said, saluting again and walked inside.
I shook my head and drove towards the station. I still can’t believe I am going to get married to the girl on whom I had my first crush.
However, I really hope she thinks about, everything again before anything moves ahead. I don’t want any mistakes in my marriage life.
*Janice Pov* “You are definitely nervous.” Bhai said walking inside the room. “But you are looking beautiful though.” He added and I tried to give him a smile, but my shaking legs and hands stopped me. “What are you doing here?” Abby asked while doing the final touch ups. “Well, wanted to see my Sister. And my beautiful wife.” He replied smirking. “Janice! You have been meeting him for the past one month. Then why are you so nervous?” Abby asked frowning. “I met him and even talked to him, but still we can’t be sure it will be perfect right.” I replied, and she nodded understanding. “Any second thoughts?” Bhai asked, raising his eyebrow. “No! But just a little scared.” I replied, and he nodded understanding too. Does everyone feel the same? Or maybe somewhat familiar to this I guess. I started taking deep breaths and stared at myself in the mirror. I always thought one day I would wear this white gown for someone special. Even though this is little tight at present but that
*Janice Pov* “Take deep breathes.” I told myself and sat calmly at the edge of the bed. I am not feeling nervous anymore, probably because all the nervousness I have to feel already done by me at the church. “Hey!” He said entering the room. “Hey!” I said back and got up from the bed. “If you want, you can freshen up.” He said, and I nodded walking towards my bag. I don’t think I can breathe in this gown anymore. It is too tighter than I thought after wearing it for a few hours. When I walked outside the washroom, I saw him sitting on the bed and staring at the wall. “I asked Dad not to conduct any reception. It was okay for you, right?” He asked, staring at the wall. “Yeah! It’s not a big deal.” I replied shrugging. “I need to tell you something.” He said, and I nodded hearing the hesitating tone. “What is it?” I asked sitting beside him. “I really thought I forgot her, but I think I didn’t.” he replied in a line. “Wh...what? Whom?” I asked him shocked. “Parul! I think
*Janice Pov* I am again waiting for him at the dining table. I guess I should have my food already. This is too much. It’s been one month, and he is just avoiding me. I was like okay with it because he needs space to get closure on Parul topic. And at present I really want to sleep rather than waiting for a husband who is out there busy with his friends. I want to talk with his parents actually I tried in the first week but all they have to say is he is my husband, and I should take care that he fulfills his responsibilities in the company to which he is not going from the time we got married. One after the other I am seeing nothing but a hole in the ground. I am trying to cover up them, but he is trying his best to uncover them. I glanced at the clock and saw that it is past twelve. That’s it! I can’t sit calmly like everyday. I have my own problems with my job and all. This is all new to me as well to take care of the house and then job. I finished having my dinner and walke
*Janice Pov* “So how is life?” Abby asked, sipping her coffee. “It’s good.” I replied, looking down at the cup. “Janice! It’s been just four months since you got married, and you must be like having a grin or something on your face. What happened?” She asked, holding my hand. “It is an arranged marriage Abby. It takes time for both of us to settle.” I replied. “Your Mother-in-law is a complete fan of you though. Wherever she meets us, she just says you take care of everyone, and mainly David is involved in the business so much after the marriage.” Mom said proudly. “Yeah!” I said, leaning back. He is just hiding with the work, and that’s all. Whenever I try to talk to him little romantically, he would just start talking about the office. Seeing that my In-laws are happy and satisfied that he is taking responsibilities. I have a feeling of love for him, but he is maybe still in love with her. “Ok! I will just leave.” I said getting up. “Stay for some more time.” Abby said, ho
*Janice Pov* “Where is he?” I asked out loud still calling his number. It is the first day of our stay in Switzerland, and he is missing from the morning when I woke up. And now it is evening, but still he is outside somewhere not lifting his phone at all. I am scared here not knowing what to even do. What if something happened to him? I thought and immediately gasped scolding myself. That cannot happen at all. I just hope he is fine, and if he doesn’t lift his phone in ten minutes, then I will go to the police. Then I heard the door opening and saw him entering the room with a big smile. I frowned and walked towards him. “Where were you?” I asked him sighing in relief that he was fine. “Just went to a few places.” He replied still smiling. “I was so scared David. I was waiting for you, and you didn’t even lift your phone.” I said and sat on the bed. “I put it in silent mode so that no one disturbs me when I am enjoying.” He said and now I again frowned. “Enjoying?” I asked
*Janice Pov* “Bhai! What a surprise.” I said, lifting his call. “Of course it is a surprise when my so-called sister forgot that she even has a brother.” He said, and I rolled my eyes. “Bhai! Class will start in a few minutes. I will talk to you later.” I said, looking at the students walking inside the class. “After the class is over, just walk to the café near the college. I will be there soon.” He said hanging up, and I frowned. “So what happened?” I asked him sitting in front of him. “You have to tell me what happened.” He replied with a serious expression. “What do you mean Bhai?” I asked him frowning. “Before going for the holiday, I saw that you are always lost in thoughts, but now you don’t even smile. What happened?” He asked, holding my hand. “Nothing Bhai! It is general in the marriages I guess. I am trying to get to adapt to him, and he is doing the same.” I replied. “How much time will it take? It’s been what seven months already.” He said sighing. “No one wrot
*Janice Pov* Something is wrong! I thought, rubbing my forehead and paced in our room. I am thinking the same for the past few weeks. I thought everything was fine when we shared the kiss, but looks like there is something else. My thoughts stopped when he walked inside the room as usual late and placed his briefcase on the table. That’s all! And now he will walk inside the washroom not saying a single word. Then he will sleep sometimes having dinner and sometimes not. I decided to take a drastic step not able to stay back and let him do anything. That’s why when he walked inside the washroom, I immediately took his mobile and opened the lock. I saw all the messages and call log, and everything is perfectly empty. I took a deep breath and called her number. After a few minutes, the call is lifted, but she didn’t say a single word. I waited for a few minutes and immediately cut the call when I heard the movement inside the washroom. I deleted that there was a call done from thi
*Janice Pov* I waited for him standing near the college campus feeling nothing but dreadfulness inside. I really hope what I am thinking is completely wrong. “What happened?” Bhai asked when I sat in the passenger seat of his car. “I promised you right Bhai. If I think something is wrong, then I will come near you.” I said, looking at him when he stopped his car at the corner. “Yes! Did something happen?” he asked frowning. “I think so! I really need your support Bhai and don’t ask me anything until I am sure.” I replied, and he nodded frowning. Then I requested him to take me to the restaurant, and he did without asking a single question. After he parked the car, we both walked to the reception, and I calmly asked, “Is Mr.David Silva in room 240?” “Yes! Is there any problem? Because he asked us not to disturb him.” She said, and I gripped the table. “No problem!” I replied and walked towards the elevator along with Bhai. I pressed the floor button, and I can see him stoppin
