*Janice Pov*
I am again waiting for him at the dining table. I guess I should have my food already. This is too much.
It’s been one month, and he is just avoiding me. I was like okay with it because he needs space to get closure on Parul topic.
And at present I really want to sleep rather than waiting for a husband who is out there busy with his friends.
I want to talk with his parents actually I tried in the first week but all they have to say is he is my husband, and I should take care that he fulfills his responsibilities in the company to which he is not going from the time we got married.
One after the other I am seeing nothing but a hole in the ground. I am trying to cover up them, but he is trying his best to uncover them.
I glanced at the clock and saw that it is past twelve. That’s it! I can’t sit calmly like everyday.
I have my own problems with my job and all. This is all new to me as well to take care of the house and then job.
I finished having my dinner and walked inside our room. I paced in the room waiting for him, and he finally came after another hour.
“Did you have dinner?” I asked him when he entered the room.
“Yeah! I had with my friends.” He replied nodding.
“David! With this pace we are going, I don’t think this is good for our lives at all.” I said directly.
“What do you mean?” he asked frowning.
“I mean you are escaping by the time I get ready and coming home late. On top of that you are not going to the office. I don’t even know what to think about all this.” I replied.
“Are you complaining?” he asked frowning.
“No! I am telling you what I am feeling.” I replied and he nodded, sitting on the bed.
“It’s just my friends are asking for party one after the other, so I am busy with that. But don’t worry I decided to go to the office from tomorrow onwards again. I just thought if I go to the office by the next day itself people may talk so.” He explained, and I sighed in relief.
“I really didn’t think about it. But thank you for listening.” I said holding his hand.
“So now as I am going to the office, we will postpone our honeymoon.” He said smiling.
“Oh, ok!” I mumbled, not knowing what to say about it.
“I will go and freshen up.” He said walking inside the washroom while I walked outside the room to switch off all the lights and then bolted the door other than the lock.
We both lay on the different sides of the bed and drifted off into sleep with our backs facing each other.
I wish he moves on and starts our new life soon.
*Adithya Pov*
I walked in our room completely tired and saw her standing near the window looking outside like every day for the past one month.
“I will freshen up and then we both will have dinner with my parents.” I said taking out my clothes.
I took a long bath feeling my muscles relaxed in the hot water. The work has really increased these days, and the retirements are also more.
But it is a good thing as there is a chance for the promotion which I want at any cost. I want to give a good life and increased salary is really helpful.
I can’t and will not ask Dad for money and staying in the house is the big thing I am doing just for my parents and Parul.
“Let’s go!” I said walking outside.
“I don’t want to have dinner.” She mumbled, not turning around.
“Why? Are you fine?” I asked her frowning.
“Do we have to stay at your parent’s house?” She asked turning around.
“What happened?” I asked her back.
“Just tell me. Can’t we stay at some other place?” She asked frowning.
“Parul! I don’t know what happens in my work every day. I may get late sometimes so it is safe for you to stay here with them and not alone.” I replied.
“But they are questioning everything I am doing.” She said sighing.
“I went to a party today and returned little late, but earlier than everyone in that party. But still I get your parents disappointed looks.” She added.
“They worry about you and that’s all. Don’t think too much.” I said, holding her hand, and she nodded.
“And also, if we go separately, then we have to live in a small house and reduce much spending." I added, and she nodded frowning.
We both walked downstairs and started having our dinner. They asked about Parul what she is doing and all, and she replied honestly, when I nodded at her.
“What is this? I thought you would leave that job and join the business after marriage. But now the problem is our daughter-in-law wants to be a model. That is not good for the family name.” Dad said shaking his head.
“Dad! I will never leave my job, and about Parul let her do what she wants.” I said, and Parul smiled at me.
“If anything wrong attaches to the family name, I will not ignore that.” He finally said when we both had a few words regarding her passion.
“Thank you so much Adithya. I never thought your parents had any problem with any of it. I mean, if I know about this earlier then I would have never listened to my dad.” She said shaking her head.
“What do you mean?” I asked her frowning.
“I... mean this is arranged marriage right. I would have never accepted if I know the family will have a problem with my choice of career.” She replied and lay on the bed.
“They will be fine, but you really need to start your career soon.” I said, because she did small assignments, but she needs to do more to reach the heights she wants.
“I am trying.” She mumbled.
“I may not get leave for a few months, so I am thinking of postponing the honeymoon. Is that ok with you?” I asked her.
“Of course! I will be busy too, so that is a really good thing.” She said, turning away when I lay on the bed.
“Can you never leave the job and take over the business? It will give you more money, right?” She calmly asked.
“But it will never give me the satisfaction and sleep I get every night.” I replied, and we both drifted off into sleep.
I wish she moves on, and we will start our new life soon.
*Janice Pov* “So how is life?” Abby asked, sipping her coffee. “It’s good.” I replied, looking down at the cup. “Janice! It’s been just four months since you got married, and you must be like having a grin or something on your face. What happened?” She asked, holding my hand. “It is an arranged marriage Abby. It takes time for both of us to settle.” I replied. “Your Mother-in-law is a complete fan of you though. Wherever she meets us, she just says you take care of everyone, and mainly David is involved in the business so much after the marriage.” Mom said proudly. “Yeah!” I said, leaning back. He is just hiding with the work, and that’s all. Whenever I try to talk to him little romantically, he would just start talking about the office. Seeing that my In-laws are happy and satisfied that he is taking responsibilities. I have a feeling of love for him, but he is maybe still in love with her. “Ok! I will just leave.” I said getting up. “Stay for some more time.” Abby said, ho
*Janice Pov* “Where is he?” I asked out loud still calling his number. It is the first day of our stay in Switzerland, and he is missing from the morning when I woke up. And now it is evening, but still he is outside somewhere not lifting his phone at all. I am scared here not knowing what to even do. What if something happened to him? I thought and immediately gasped scolding myself. That cannot happen at all. I just hope he is fine, and if he doesn’t lift his phone in ten minutes, then I will go to the police. Then I heard the door opening and saw him entering the room with a big smile. I frowned and walked towards him. “Where were you?” I asked him sighing in relief that he was fine. “Just went to a few places.” He replied still smiling. “I was so scared David. I was waiting for you, and you didn’t even lift your phone.” I said and sat on the bed. “I put it in silent mode so that no one disturbs me when I am enjoying.” He said and now I again frowned. “Enjoying?” I asked
*Janice Pov* “Bhai! What a surprise.” I said, lifting his call. “Of course it is a surprise when my so-called sister forgot that she even has a brother.” He said, and I rolled my eyes. “Bhai! Class will start in a few minutes. I will talk to you later.” I said, looking at the students walking inside the class. “After the class is over, just walk to the café near the college. I will be there soon.” He said hanging up, and I frowned. “So what happened?” I asked him sitting in front of him. “You have to tell me what happened.” He replied with a serious expression. “What do you mean Bhai?” I asked him frowning. “Before going for the holiday, I saw that you are always lost in thoughts, but now you don’t even smile. What happened?” He asked, holding my hand. “Nothing Bhai! It is general in the marriages I guess. I am trying to get to adapt to him, and he is doing the same.” I replied. “How much time will it take? It’s been what seven months already.” He said sighing. “No one wrot
*Janice Pov* Something is wrong! I thought, rubbing my forehead and paced in our room. I am thinking the same for the past few weeks. I thought everything was fine when we shared the kiss, but looks like there is something else. My thoughts stopped when he walked inside the room as usual late and placed his briefcase on the table. That’s all! And now he will walk inside the washroom not saying a single word. Then he will sleep sometimes having dinner and sometimes not. I decided to take a drastic step not able to stay back and let him do anything. That’s why when he walked inside the washroom, I immediately took his mobile and opened the lock. I saw all the messages and call log, and everything is perfectly empty. I took a deep breath and called her number. After a few minutes, the call is lifted, but she didn’t say a single word. I waited for a few minutes and immediately cut the call when I heard the movement inside the washroom. I deleted that there was a call done from thi
*Janice Pov* I waited for him standing near the college campus feeling nothing but dreadfulness inside. I really hope what I am thinking is completely wrong. “What happened?” Bhai asked when I sat in the passenger seat of his car. “I promised you right Bhai. If I think something is wrong, then I will come near you.” I said, looking at him when he stopped his car at the corner. “Yes! Did something happen?” he asked frowning. “I think so! I really need your support Bhai and don’t ask me anything until I am sure.” I replied, and he nodded frowning. Then I requested him to take me to the restaurant, and he did without asking a single question. After he parked the car, we both walked to the reception, and I calmly asked, “Is Mr.David Silva in room 240?” “Yes! Is there any problem? Because he asked us not to disturb him.” She said, and I gripped the table. “No problem!” I replied and walked towards the elevator along with Bhai. I pressed the floor button, and I can see him stoppin
*Ben Pov* “What are they doing here?” I asked Abby looking at the visitors. “What are they doing here?” Abby asked looking back. “I am asking the same Abby.” I replied, rolling my eyes and walked towards them, but my parents beat me and met them in the half way. “Please sit down. I will call Janice.” Mom said and started climbing the steps. “Dad! What is he doing here after everything he did?” I asked him. “Ben! We are trying to set Janice’s life. Don’t spoil it.” He said looking at me. “What happened to her? She needs a little time and after that she will be normal and her life is still good, and she knows what to do.” I said and Abby squeezed my hand. “What?” I asked her whispering. “They will not understand whatever we will say. Let Janice handle them and we will support her.” She replied in a whisper, and I nodded understanding her. “What is it?” Janice asked, and I can see her eyes completely red. “Let’s sit down and talk clearly.” Dad said and made her sit down. “I s
#After few months# *Janice Pov* “Be careful, Abby.” I said, holding her hand properly. “I am fine Janice. Don’t worry about me.” She said when I helped her to sit down properly. “I want my Nephew or Niece to be completely fine, so that I can play with them.” I said smiling at her and sat beside her. “I have been telling her that she should start taking her food on the bed, but she never listens to me.” Bhai said, shaking his head and served for three of us the breakfast. “Poor Bhai! You are torturing him, Abby.” I said, winking at her. “It is just eight month.” She said, rolling her eyes while Bhai glared at both of us. “We have something to talk to you.” I heard Dad’s voice, and he sat on the table along with Mom. “Uh, oh!” I mumbled. “Janice! We were ok with the divorce and all, and it’s been a few months since it happened. Now why don’t you meet new people?” Mom said looking at me. “No!” I said without a doubt. “Just meet them and look for yourself. You can’t stop your
*Janice Pov* “Good morning, Ms.Janice.” I heard someone saying like everyday from the past few days and I looked up from my cup of coffee and a piece of chocolate cake. “Good morning, Mr.Adithya.” I said and gestured for him to sit in the chair in front of me. “Cake in the morning time?” he asked, looking at the plate. “When the parents start giving some serious pressure every day, then we need something like this before starting the day.” I replied. “Even I need one then. Today I didn’t get to escape my parents and got another request or order or demand. Whatever they think it is.” He said, and I ordered another piece for him. “When the first time we did as per their wish, but it backfired in the worse way they should give us space for the next one.” I started. “But no! They start showing the same hurry as they did for first or even more. They make it seem like no one can live without marriage.” He finished. “Yeah! I mean who doesn’t get scared for the next time. We have so m
