Nova’s POV

Was it just me, or did the week before exams move way faster than any other week? Like tell me why it was Monday already. Friday felt like it was just a few hours ago. Yet here I was, sitting in the car with Arnold, on my way to write my first exam.

Strangely, I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I’d be. Probably because I’d actually prepared enough not to fail. Plus, I was kind of happy Arnold drove me today. It had been a while since he did, and though I loved riding with Aiden, being with Arnold once in a while didn’t hurt.

After Arnold dropped me off and cutely said goodbye to Eli, of course I kept scanning the hall, waiting for a very almost-late Aiden Cross to show up. I texted him like Arnold said but no reply. Did he think he owned the school? How was he not here yet?

“I swear, I’m going to kill him when he finally walks in,” I leaned forward and whispered to Eli, who only chuckled.

They’d separated our seats because of exams, so even gossiping felt like a chore n

Nova’s POV Throughout our little meal, I kept sneaking glances at Aiden. Outwardly, he looked like he was having a great time, smiling, laughing at the right moments but I could see it. The tightness behind his eyes, that shadow he couldn’t quite hide. It worried me, though I couldn’t pin down why. I tried to focus on the laughs instead, and the fact that I’d just met his mom. Still, my eyes wandered back to him, again and again. I shoved it down. I’d ask him when we finally got a private moment together. For now, we were supposed to be golfing. Or… getting golfing? Whatever. “Are you sure this is right?” Eli asked nervously, his whole body stiff while Arnold moved him into position like a marionette—hands on the club, back bent slightly, eyes locked on the hole in front of us. “I don’t think it’s right,” Aiden chimed in from beside me. “But have fun with it.” His small chuckle made me giggle too. Eli shot us both a glare before turning back to Arnold, who was practically glowi

  • Nightmare turned love    Fun thought

Nova’s POVMe and Eli stood in front of the course while Arnold grabbed some clubs from Bob.I glanced around and, sure enough, everyone else seemed lost in their own world. Which was probably good, less attention on the kids who had absolutely no idea what they were doing.Bob started droning on about wedges and putters with Arnold, and I tuned him out almost immediately, turning to Eli instead.“How big do you think this whole place is?” I asked. He chuckled. “For sure bigger than what all three of our houses combined would add up to.”I laughed with him. “That’s the most fact-based thing you’ve said all morning.”He shot me a look, still smiling. “Nerves all gone now?” He squinted at me like he could see through every layer.I gave a soft nod, and he grinned. “Don’t stress it, love. I’m sure his parents will love you. And frankly, if they don’t? Then they need to get their eyes checked—assuming they don’t already wear glasses.”That made me laugh again. Honestly, there was no way to

  • Nightmare turned love    Going right

Aiden’s POV I didn’t want to leave Nova alone for even a second, but of course, my parents had other plans. Today of all days, they decided it was the perfect time to meet with some business partners. Impeccable timing, really. As I made my way to their office, I couldn’t stop smiling, though. I kept picturing Nova’s eyes lighting up when we walked in here earlier—how focused she got on the simplest things. She was adorable like that, and I couldn’t help but grin every time. By the time I reached their office, I took a deep breath, knocked softly, and twisted the door handle. Let’s just get this over with so I can get back to Nova, I muttered to myself before plastering on my best fake smile. “Oh, you must be Aiden!” a high-pitched voice rang out as a middle-aged woman appeared, all smiles. “There you are, son,” my dad said as I stepped inside. My eyes flicked over the room, my mom, my dad, a man who had to be the woman’s husband, and… a girl about my age. Shit this was just g

  • Nightmare turned love    Just people

Nova’s POV The inside of the building was even more breathtaking than the outside. Fancy chandeliers sparkled from every corner, like the place was competing with the sun itself. I wasn’t the only one gawking, Eli’s wide eyes mirrored mine as we both tried to take everything in. After a while, we stopped in front of a neat row of golf carts. Aiden placed a hand on one, motioning toward a worker who hurried over with a bow and a practiced smile. “Welcome, Mr. Aiden,” the man said warmly. Aiden gave him a nod. “We’re heading to the private court with the café. This one available?” he asked, tapping the four-seater cart. “Of course,” the man replied smoothly. “I’ll have someone drive you right away.” Eli leaned closer, voice low. “Everyone here is smiling. Like… too much.” I followed his gaze. He wasn’t wrong every worker we passed had the same polished smile, the same effortless movements. The people climbing into carts looked like their lives were perfectly put together—expensi

  • Nightmare turned love    Fancy universe

Nova’s POV I actually managed to wake up early enough not to have Arnold banging on my door like we’d been enemies in a past life. I showered, threw on the most basic outfit I could find, shorts and a t-shirt and headed downstairs. No need to get fancy just yet since I’d be changing anyway. Honestly, I’d spent a good few hours last night overthinking how today might go. Scenes from different movies kept replaying in my head. Should I say hello? Too formal. Hi? Too casual. Maybe a smile and wave? But then I’d look awkward. Eventually, I gave up and forced myself to sleep. When I got downstairs, Arnold was chilling on the couch, scrolling intensely through his phone. I plopped down beside him. “Good morning, brother,” I said casually, leaning over to peek. He immediately moved his phone away. “Can you say good morning without playing detective first?” I rolled my eyes. “What are you hiding that I can’t see?” He sighed, finally lifting his phone again. “I was just researching the

  • Nightmare turned love    One thing

Aiden’s POV My parents had asked—well, more like told me about the meeting with Nova sometime midweek. But I decided not to mention it to her until exams were over. No point in making her nervous when the meeting couldn’t even happen until after. Today just felt like the right time to finally let it out. She took it better than I expected, though. I knew I was right to include Arnold and Eli in the plans. The last thing I wanted was for her to feel tense and uncomfortable, especially with how forward my parents could be sometimes. Having Arnold and Eli there would balance things out. So when the air lightened with Eli scrolling through golf outfits and Arnold whining about why he’d even agreed to go shopping in the first place, my heart calmed a little. Still, I could tell Nova was nervous. The way her hand clenched mine under the sheets gave her away. I squeezed gently, hoping the reassurance came through. The whole “parents thing” dragged up memories I hated. With Judy, my pare
