Quickly I dial Riley’s number and wait for him to pick up.

“Hello, who is it?”

“Hey Riley, it’s Ash.”
“Yep, what’s happening?”
“I need you and your friends to come back to my

house, are you nearly finished with all the sand?”
“Yeah, we are about to leave.”
“Great I have sent Lyrica to get bags to put the sand in, and I have also got one of Natalie’s friends out collecting people that are willing to fight for our cause.”

“That’s great, okay well I will meet you at your house in about 10.”

“Okay that sounds great, so where did you get the sand from?”

“I know this person that works at the zoo, and he said I could take some sand from the enclosures.”

“Perfect, okay see you soon.”
“Yep, bye.”
“Bye.” As soon as he hangs up I walk into the kitchen and sit down. This would be so much easier with Natalie here; I hope she is okay and that the master and the monsters haven’t hurt her. I can’t wait until I can have her in my arms again, and this time I don’t plan on letting go. The

  • Nightmare   For Aaron (Natalie)

I hear the bow hit the ground but I can't do anything except stare at Nicks lifeless body. To think that I've come all this way, and I actually killed a human being. A sense of dread takes hold of me and I wonder what it would be like in the minds of those that actually murder for fun. Alex is laying on top of Aaron who I was too late to save. Ash is looking at me, gauging my reaction. But all I can do is stare at Nick, a consuming feeling of guilt crashes through me. I could have prevented all this if I'd just killed the master while I was in his brain. I know it would have killed me but at least I would be the only one that’s dead. Now two innocent boys are dead because of me. If I had been that second earlier I could have shoot him in the arm or something. Through my mental torment I finally succumb to the exhaustion and collapsed to the ground. I hear Ash call out my name, but I'm too tired, to tired to care anymore and quite frankly to tired to move. His footsteps echo down the

  • Nightmare   Aaron (Alexandria)

This will be our final battle, one last chance to fight of Natalie on her path to defeat the master. Aaron turns to see Nick racing towards us, in his hands he gripped the hilt of the sword tightly. Not far behind him was Ash, blood dribbled from what appeared to be a shallow cut from the top of his head. Ash is waving his hands around telling us to run, to move. He reaches for his last throwing knife but Nick has already reached us. Aaron takes the first hit with his shield that he had managed to bring with him during the whole escape. “Nick!” I scream, the fear and panic rising the frequency of my voice as it cracks. “You have to stop, it’s me. What is mum and dad going to think?” Nick has the sword raised above his head ready to bring it down on Aaron’s shield. His hesitation has allowed Ash to catch back up and he now has his sword drawn ready to fight again. Nick looks back at Ash before a sly smile appears across his mouth, “Come for round two have you Samuel’s?” Ash’s b

  • Nightmare   This is the end! (Alexandria)

The stars seem to be shinning brightly as night falls and the animals and insects of the night seem to come alive as darkness falls. At the end of the street I see movement, and I hear a loud grunt from over where Nick was tied. Suddenly there is a loud tearing noise, and then a loud scream. “Alex!” I hear Ash’s voice from down the street; I turn to where Nick was originally sitting and see the space vacant. Worry begins to build in my gut, and I see Ash come sprinting up the street. "ALEX MOVE!" On instinct I move, I slide to the left just as an arrow flies through the space that I had just vacated. My mouth drops open as I see Nick holding the bow. Why would he be shooting at me? For a second Nick seems to realise what he had done, but the spark of recognition in his eyes quickly fades. He grabs another arrow and aims it at me again. "Alex you belong to me, if I can't have you no one can." I look at Nick with confusion "But you’re my brother, I will always love you. But yo

  • Nightmare   Telling Aaron (Alexandria)

Chapter 34 Heartbreak (Alexandria) My mind was racing, two traitors and I knew who they were. I couldn’t believe that my brother would do that to me but then again he probably didn’t get given a choice. He should be stronger, but he has always had a weak heart when it came to fighting for what he believed in. He always found it easy to overlook the small aspects and only believe in what he believed in and obviously he had lost faith in Natalie. For him to be so easily manipulated, there must be something that the master has offered to give him in return for his service. But I don’t know what that could be, but it obviously has something to do with Aaron, or the fact that Aaron would no longer be in his road. I turn to Aaron; darkness has started to filter across the sky, as night comes upon us. And everyone on the street has started following the floating Nick, which the monster is holding on to. It seems that nearly everyone has forgotten that Natalie and Ash aren’t with us right

  • Nightmare   Natalie’s plan (Aaron)

Alex opens her mouth to say or ask something but Ash just nods his head, without her even voicing her question. He continues walking but he doesn’t look sad. He looks like he is on a mission. He looks at Lyrica and she seems to understand a relieved look filters across her face for a split second, allowing anyone that saw it as a sense of relief. She quickly recovers before saying “Everyone, we must retreat. We will go to the south, follow me. Everything will be fine” Ash continues to walk the other way; he glances back at me once and nods his head. A relieved smile filtering across his face before it disappears and he looks away. This leaves us with just one problem. We can’t see the monsters and that means the ones that are helping us are now useless. Suddenly Nick is lifted off the ground by some invisible force, and carried towards Lyrica. Lyrica looks at Nick with something that resembles hatred before nodding to the monster. The monster seems to wave Nick in the air, like

  • Nightmare   Strange things are happening here… (Aaron)

Natalie still hasn’t appeared, and the rest of the group is growing restless. Finally we come to the end of the street to see Natalie standing before the master by herself. Wait not standing but floating, her hair has fallen out and hangs down her back while her eyes rest on the master. He seems to be looking straight back and neither of them are moving. Ash looks confused I assume that he can see the monsters. Lyrica has gone still and Cooper is looking around with wide eyes. Can he see something that we can’t see? I turn to Alex and notice that she is also looking at Cooper. “What is wrong with him? Do you think that he can see the monsters?” Alex bobs her head slowly as if trying to hide the fact that we have noticed. But it’s still enough to get Cooper’s attention and his head turns towards us before he focuses on Lyrica. Lyrica must have noticed too because she has a confused look on her face, and then understanding flows over her face followed by anger. It’s not obvious but fr

  • Nightmare   Nick tried to kill me! (Aaron)

Natalie had the best plan, and I was certain that we were going to surprise the in coming monsters. As I sit with Alex and watch her watch her best friend prepare to do something that no one should be able to do. Alex’s head sits against my shoulder and my arms circle her waist, I realise that the way we are sitting feels right. I know that this is going to be dangerous and that Alex is worried because Nick has been missing, but I can’t let her out of my sight. She is my heart and my life and without her I don’t know what my life would be like. Alex’s body suddenly becomes tense and her head lifts off my shoulder. She is looking directly at Natalie, and Natalie is looking directly at Alex before she vanishes. Alex gets up quickly and races to where Natalie had been standing and finds the space empty. Tears begin to show in her eyes and she continues to stare at the spot where her best friend just vanished from. I look around and notice that everyone else is also staring at the spot

  • Nightmare   Revenge Plan (Aidan)

Walking out to the kitchen, I grab a snack from the fridge before walking to the lounge room to think. I watch the monsters walk around me even right now I can see that the numbers are dropping, maybe because they have noticed that the main leaders are no longer here, or simple because they have retired for the night. Whatever Natalie and Blue came up with before Blue helped Natalie escape must have caused some confusion. That’s why sooner rather than later I need to finish the job I started. I need to get Ash out of the equation, because that will surely break Natalie’s strength. Then finally an Idea hits me. I could manipulate Nick’s hatred for losing his sister towards the girl’s boyfriend and I can also use the hatred towards Ash for stealing Natalie away from him. I look around the room and notice that some of the monsters have turned their attention towards me. I feel my lips lift into a wide spread grin and I feel my eyes gleaming with happiness as my plans start to formulate

  • Nightmare   Pay back (Aidan)

The monster gulps and moves forward to stand at the front. He lifts up the bag he is holding and I am surprised to see a human within the bag. “Why do you hold a human?” I ask as politely as possible. “It’s not just any human, it’s one of their humans, one of the important ones that the Ma Vista’s talk to.” I look at him in surprise, “And how did you find him?” “He was sitting out the front of the house, so I took the opportunity to grab him.” A look of uncertainty flashes across his face, before he regains his confidence. I look at the unconscious human, that I certainly had seen floating around with the little gang that Natalie had created. Then a stroke of genius erupts in my head, I could use this guy to cause even more havoc, maybe make Natalie regret bringing her friends into this mess that wasn’t even meant to be theirs in the first place. “Thank you, this has given us one of the most important game changes in the battle. Can you please bring him up here and place him
