The escape from the house was easier then expected, as we race across the yard there are no monster insight. Blue had chosen the right moment for my escape, and now I owe him. Once we are outside the houses boundaries Blue pulls up and stops running, which causes me to dive to the side to prevent running into the ginormous monster, and even though he is young he is still quite big. “This is where we must disappear.” I look at him, and nod, “Okay.” He grabs me under the shoulders and under my knees then lifts me up before we disappear. Disappearing is so weird; it’s so hard to explain. I feel wind pushing against my face; it pushes me back against Blue. I can’t see anything, it’s just black all around and yet I can’t actually tell if my eyes are open or closed. We lay tangled in each other’s arms for what feels like ages before I finally decide that I should have a shower, and I disentangle myself from him. Then suddenly a thought of a Blue monster flicks through my mind. Oh, shit we forgot about Blue, we left him at the front door. “Ash?” “Yes, Nat?” “We completely forgot about Blue.” “Shit, okay you go have your shower and I will go check up on him and make sure that everything is going okay.” “Okay that sounds good.” I walk over to him and claim his lips one more time before I leave the room. As I walk down the hall I run into Lyrica. “Natalie oh my gosh, you’re back.” “Yeah it’s so good to see you Lyrica.” She seems to take in my appearance and smirks. “And it seems as though you have been quite busy since you got back.” I feel my cheeks redden with a slight blush as I drop my head to look at the floor. “Don’t feel ashamed honey, at least no one walk in on you.” I look at her in confusion before the answer hits me.

While Ash and I are collecting the last weapons from the garage to hand out among the fighters, I am struck by a message, and it doesn’t take me long to realise that I am not meant to hear it. A small voice in the back of my head calling me “Come now monsters join the battle, I need you here now. It’s been a long time since we have had the chance to destroy the Ma Vista’s and that time has come.” The voice stops. I look at Ash; he must see the horror in my face, because he immediately drops the weapons that are in his hands and runs over to me. By the time we have everyone up and in the lounge room we have lost half an hour. Everyone looks panicked and unfocused. “Alright guys, the time has come for us to band together to beat this evil that has descended upon us.” With that I grab Ash’s hand and walk towards the front door, they quickly fall into step behind me. We walk onto the street and then onto the main high way that runs through Frostvale. I make sure that everyone still has all their weapons as well as their sand bags and then we stand in a line, restricting any of the monsters to penetrate further into the town. We stand for close to maybe an hour, waiting, just waiting for any sign of movement or panic. As soon as the battle started, everyone was lost in the fray, I saw Natalie run in one direction and Ash tried to follow but I am guessing to many monsters had crowded him because he had to stop and all I could see was the light reflecting off his sword as he cut them down, well I think he cut them down. I decide to stick with Lyrica, more so now after our new relationship has bloomed. I see people being cut down everywhere, most injured but others it’s hard to tell. I also see a lot of sand bags bursting as they hit the hidden monsters. It doesn’t take long before Lyrica and I are standing back-to-back, surround by the invisible monsters. I swing my sword sometimes I feel the hit but other times it only feels like air. My sword just seems to never find a purchase; I can tell that Lyrica is finding it to be quite frustrating as I hear her swinging her sword and hearing the sound of the air swishing past the shape blade. Natalie had the best plan, and I was certain that we were going to surprise the in coming monsters. As I sit with Alex and watch her watch her best friend prepare to do something that no one should be able to do. Alex’s head sits against my shoulder and my arms circle her waist, I realise that the way we are sitting feels right. I know that this is going to be dangerous and that Alex is worried because Nick has been missing, but I can’t let her out of my sight. She is my heart and my life and without her I don’t know what my life would be like. Alex’s body suddenly becomes tense and her head lifts off my shoulder. She is looking directly at Natalie, and Natalie is looking directly at Alex before she vanishes. Alex gets up quickly and races to where Natalie had been standing and finds the space empty. Walking out to the kitchen, I grab a snack from the fridge before walking to the lounge room to think. I watch the monsters walk around me even right now I can see that the numbers are dropping, maybe because they have noticed that the main leaders are no longer here, or simple because they have retired for the night. Whatever Natalie and Blue came up with before Blue helped Natalie escape must have caused some confusion. That’s why sooner rather than later I need to finish the job I started. I need to get Ash out of the equation, because that will surely break Natalie’s strength. Then finally an Idea hits me. I could manipulate Nick’s hatred for losing his sister towards the girl’s boyfriend and I can also use the hatred towards Ash for stealing Natalie away from him. The monster gulps and moves forward to stand at the front. He lifts up the bag he is holding and I am surprised to see a human within the bag. “Why do you hold a human?” I ask as politely as possible. “It’s not just any human, it’s one of their humans, one of the important ones that the Ma Vista’s talk to.” I look at him in surprise, “And how did you find him?” “He was sitting out the front of the house, so I took the opportunity to grab him.” A look of uncertainty flashes across his face, before he regains his confidence. Blacks interruption had confused me, for a second I thought that he was going to help the other monsters from the council, but I misjudged his character. It had been years since that last master died, but considering that can’t happen anymore it had to be expected that one of the monsters would want the other Ma Vista’s to win, but quite frankly that is not an option. From what I have heard from the other monsters, rumours are going round that Natalie and Ash are planning not on killing all the monsters because there job will still have to be done, but only killing those that killed the people that weren’t destined to pass on. An hour after I have posted the roster I get my first complaint, and of course the person complaining is someone by the name of Josh who happens to have first duty tonight. “LYRICA, WHY...DO...I...HAVE...THE...FIRST...SHIFT?” He practically screams at me, I decide to make up a lie that will sound like the truth “You just happened to be the first name I pulled out of the hat.” To be completely honest with you, I put him first just to get him out of everybody’s road, he makes such a racket and I have no idea how Natalie was ever with this guy, she’s to good for him. As I lay there, my body seems to mould to the ground and I refuse to get up and get Cooper away from the street. My body is heavy, and I struggle to keep my head clear, thoughts seem to flood my head and I can’t seem to think straight. Worry for everyone, especially for Natalie and Ash, I don’t understand this level of loyalty that I have developed for the two. I find that if there happened to be a stand off between Cooper and Natalie I would probably stand before Natalie and protect her with my life. I don’t understand this level of dedication but I assume it is because I now feel as though I belong somewhere. Cooper’s sudden disappearance had me confused and worried, he had been fighting right along beside me since the beginning of the battle and then he started acting funny.
