RYLAN.

Alaric stormed into my house without a knock. “Rylan,” he yelled. I stepped out of the bathroom still in my robes and wet body.

“What is it, Alaric?” I asked and rested my hands on my hips. He wasn’t happy and I couldn’t tell why. He glared at me. If eyes could burn, I would be ashes by now.

“Would you say something or you are just going to stand there and act like a stone or something? I am having my bath and I don’t have time for all these.”

He took a bold step forward. “Where were you coming from last night?”

Last night…I had left the house very early in the morning to meet Maia at the coffee cafe. Did Alaric find out that I am in a real relationship with the rogue park? Also, I saw him at Moonlight Park but he didn’t spare me a glance. I ignored him and poured myself a cup of wine.

“Why the sudden question about where I was yesterday? I am a grown man and I can be anywhere I want at any time I please. Have I ever asked you where you have been?” He paced around the house bu

  • No Longer The Naive Luna   CHAPTER 38: Message bird

FREYAIt’s evening and I haven’t set my eyes on Alaric. Mary suggested we take a quick stroll but I wasn’t taking any chances. I almost died the last time I went out without Alaric and doing the same thing right now would make me look stupid.I am already stupid even if people don’t know it yet. I feel greatly embarrassed by the whole situation. Perhaps if I hadn’t allowed Calista into my home, she wouldn’t have been able to take Rowan from me and I wouldn’t have died, and being stuck in another person’s body wouldn’t have happened in the first place.I need to see the old healer quickly. She would have a better idea of what I ought to do. Seeing Morgan is going to be hard. What do I tell Alari

  • No Longer The Naive Luna   CHAPTER 37: Worried

FREYAI’ve been worried for days. Even though Jay had told us to visit him, I can’t help but think it is a trap to lure me into my death. Something is growing inside me and this time, no one would be able to save me from it. Not even Alaric. If nothing can be done about it, if my end is drawing near, then I better go back to Moonheart and finish what I started. Isn’t that the main reason I am here, still alive in another person’s body?I haven’t been able to get my thoughts together and Mary hasn’t been having a good time either. She sees through my worries. When she realized that I was no longer blind, she jumped up in amusement and almost used a day to cry. I felt bad for making her go through this kind of emotional stress and I was tempted to tell her I wasn’t blind to begin with. But that is the least of my problems now that I have agreed to go see Jay in the evening. Alaric has been worried, almost more worried than I am. He doesn’t know what to do and he can’t just do nothing.

  • No Longer The Naive Luna   CHAPTER 36: Wary

CALISTA.Rowan’s attitude has changed for good. I have tried everything in my power to make him change his mind. But I can’t leave Rick alone. Not now, not ever. I had known Rick a long time before I got to know Rowan. I wish Freya were here and she would do her duty as a wife.Things weren’t meant to take this turn. Freya wasn’t meant to die, that’s what he told me. He said we were just going to do things according to its plan and things would get easier. I went to the graveyard beside the house where the dead child was buried. I scoffed and threw the flowers at it. It should have lived. That would have cost me less than the burden I carry around myself now. After spending about an hour by the grave, I turned around and found Rowan coming towards me. I changed my mind and remained there. Tears were far from my eyes but I did my best to act sad although I was a little sad. Dressed in a well-tailored black suit that had rose prints on it with dark shade glasses, he stood beside me wi

  • No Longer The Naive Luna   CHAPTER 35: BLOOD MOON 2

ROWAN.Everyone gathered as the moon gently turned red. My calm spirit is now filled with eagerness. I want to feel it, finally. I would see Freya again. “Everyone,” I shouted from the balcony, “get everything you need. We are going hunting!”They scattered and adhered to my words. I didn’t wait either. I threw my coat away to the chair and ran as fast as I could to the circus made of stone. The little pot was there lifted with two bare hands like offerings from the ground. The elders arrived. The night was cold but none of the werewolves felt that. For us, we had something more interesting coming. Calista was standing adjacent to me with Maia by her left. The twin witches arrived. Selene and Serene. They appear covered in a black veil which turns red the moment they step into the circus. The wolves howled to gather others that were not around yet. They started with the incantation and rites. The gush water was poured into the bowl while the witches did their thing. It’s been a ye

  • No Longer The Naive Luna   CHAPTER 34: Blood Moon

ROWAN.Two nights have passed and each night, we set a parole and get ready for the blood moon since we don’t have a specific date. While Christabel has been doing her thing, she kept her promise and just pretended to be one of us. She also didn’t meddle with any of the Pack activities. She was quite useful to me. She had been telling me that I still had a chance to talk to Freya if I remained honestly in love with her even in death.Calista, by the way, has been trying to please me in every way possible but it’s not going to happen. Not now, but ever. Especially now that I know there is a way to get Freya back. She can go back to her Human toy and probably find a mate in him, maybe if she turns him into a werewolf.&

  • No Longer The Naive Luna   CHAPTER 33: Don’t Be Scared

ALARIC.Gina has been wary since the day we met with Alpha Lucas and his people here in this pack. She keeps blacking out and thinking. Her heartbeat raced occasionally and there was nothing I could do to help, except one thing. I got news earlier this morning that Mary has arrived in the pack.Poor Mary can’t do without Gina anymore now. I can’t blame her, she has been treated in a bad way all her life, and being an Omega and a servant at that, she has sworn the oath to devote her life to serving the Pack. She believed she had nothing to live for anymore since her only relative, who was her distant cousin, had denied her and told her never to call her her relative.Meeting Gina was a life-changing story for Mary and it kind of g
