Rylan's POV

It still looks like a joke seeing Gina walking freely amongst us like nothing happened. This was impossible. She couldn’t have escaped the death I gave to her. I heard her breathing, and her heart stopped. Unless there was a witch around. I need to know exactly what happened.

We buried her although it might have been shallow and we left no trace. After that day, they all thought she was taken away by the enemy and she was forgotten. Seeing her here with Alaric makes me look and feel like a fool.

That is the space Alaric is occupying and having Gina by his side, things are really in his face.

I sighed and grabbed a cup of wine. Something was different, however, I couldn’t place it. She had probably lost her memory, or she was acting as if. Now that she is blind…well, it is in my favor.

    FREYA POVAlaric was already asleep when I got back to the court. His legs started around the bed and his arms were wide open like they were waiting for me before he fell asleep.I picked out a chair and sat on it. Gracefully, there was a smoke pot on the table, exactly what I needed. Although Alaric couldn’t know that I could see, it would become hard to explain if he saw me smoking. Being blind hasn’t gotten deep into me that much. I have to learn how to be blind.“Hey,” I whispered after taking a puff of the stick I lit.“Freya,” my wolf replied.“You know who I am,” I said.

    Rylan’s pov.“What, by the holy word, is Gina up to?”The words keep playing in my head as I say to have some tea in the tea room. I have been pacing around. Seeing her blind and with no memory meant I made myself feel a little better. Yes, that is what I thought last night when I saw her but seeing her again this morning made the insecurity in me resurface. Taking my jacket off the hanger and my hat, I lit a chunk of weed and made my way to the forest close to MoonHeart's pack where she was killed and buried. Where I killed and hurried herI am sure I remember every detail about where I kept her. Following the last sensation of how she was dragged away from the battle down to the part of the forgets made me remember the exact route we passed through. I touched the trees and smelt the ground. The sense of her hair dragging on the ground was still here. I found it. I stood still in the middle of the forest. The place where the guards dug and buried her was marked and it was covered w

    FREYA’S POVI have been sitting on a chair for about thirty minutes now, staring blankly into the room with my chaperone not more than four steps away from me. I got to know that her name was Mary, and we have barely spoken since she was assigned to me due to my blindness.Mary is a blonde girl with short red hair in her mid-twenties. She always wore a smile, but I am pretty sure she didn’t mean every smile, but it is just part of her job. She wears lavender, which is a very rare fragrance, but she wore it as part of her job so I would be able to sniff her quickly if I needed help.I sighed. “Mary, are you there?” I asked.     Freya’s POV"Everything looks fine for you and the baby, ma'am," the doctor assured. I released a sigh of satisfaction as she began packing her equipment, preparing to leave."But, ma'am, I suggest you come to the hospital soon. It's best if you lodge with us," the doctor recommended after finishing packing her suitcase."Okay, no problem," I replied. "I'll come to the lodge today."The doctor gave a short bow, shifted into her wolf form, and then left the room.I stretched and stood up from the bed. Pregnancy had wrought a significant change in me – my skin glowed, and my feet had grown bigger. Most importantly, I was beginning to feel happy again.I had saved enough money to leave after delivering my baby. While most wolves in the pack opted for a natural birth, I decided on an operation. I couldn't risk losing my baby. Opening the wardrobe, I retrieved a packed bag containing my clothes and belongings. I had already made up my mind to leave the pack immediately after giving birth;

    Freya’s POVI woke up to the sound of a crackling fire and the savory smell of beef stew.My eyes opened slowly. My memories were still very hazy and distorted. Am I in the afterlife? All I want now is peace.I tried to get a grasp of where I was, and my horrible past memories enveloped me, causing me to flinch. How had I landed here? I thought I was dead. All I remembered was weeping as I drove back from my child's grave, a sudden flash of light as I came face to face with an eighteen-wheeler truck, a loud crashing sound, and the sound of shattering glass. That was all I could remember; I didn't remember anything else.The overpowering smell of beef stew seemed to serve as a stimulant, and I gathered enough strength to raise my head slowly and turn my eyes to observe my surroundings.The room was small, a wood cabin by the looks of it, with the door barred shut and small windows that let in narrow rays of moonlight. A dim lantern hung on the wall, doing little to really illuminate th

I touched the wall and gently stood up while trying not to get back up.Right, just when I got a chance to start afresh in the park, someone already wanted me dead. I opened my eyes slowly. I could feel warm liquid fall down my face, blood I suppose.”I cracked my next and looked up. Damn, I wasn’t wrong. It was Rylan who pushed me. He had a pretty smirk on his face as he walked down the stairs to meet me. I stood up straight, ready not to show my fork of weakness.“Hey,” a feminine voice whispered in my head. I looked around. It was more scary than Rylan who was coming down with an evil smirk. I sighed and turned back to Rylan, he was taking his time.“Hey,” the voice said again but this time it was louder. “Who are you?” I whispered and took a step away.“You tell me,” the voice said back. “Quick, pretend to be blind, get some blood in your eyes.”I didn’t wait. Freya’s POVI stared at his surprised face in confusion. He looked stupefied and happy like he found someone he had longed for, which made me ponder who this woman whose body I was possessing was to him.“Gina!” he whisper-yelled as he attempted touching my squeezed face while I took a few steps backward. He disregarded my attempt to dodge his touch and cupped my face, after which he scrutinized my body.“Oh, Goddess! You are alive,” he enveloped me in a hug that felt like his life depended on it. I stood still, not returning his hug.Morgan had told me all she knew about Gina, the lady's body I possessed. She told me she found Gina by the roadside and before she could do anything to save her, she was gone. She coincidentally found me the same day and transferred my soul into Gina’s body as my body was as good as gone.The crowd started to murmur in reaction to his actions. I looked at the man behind him and he seemed shocked, angry, and slightly petrified. He stormed out of the gathe
