Chapter 3 | Mesmerizing

He curiously looked up at the creature and saw the water dripping from its eyes. His webbed hands touched under his own eyes, wondering why water flowed from this creature's eyes and not his.

Another thing that made things curious about him with the things he was placed in his mouth. A white squid swam up to him and said, “Your highness, you must not disturb this creature, it’s from the higher lands.”

The merman looked at the squid for a split second and frowned, summoning the undercurrent he brushed it towards the squid who was then swept away, “Don’t annoy me Nee,” he said then looked back up at the creature from the higher lands.

Raising his hands, he brushed them against Qykerth’s feet immediately alerting him. Qykerth looked down into the water and his eyes widened as he felt his legs being forcefully parted. The white haired merman with those enchanting Sapphire eyes looked up at him and the moment they locked eyes, Qykerth couldn’t look away and found himself drawn in.

The merman rubbed his hands up the inside of Qykerth’s thighs and lift himself up out of the water. Qykerth’s eyes widened with his heart beat accelerating. The ice cold webbed hands moved to Qykerth’s hand that had the jellies in it.

Picking one up, he placed it in his mouth and squealed, then jumped back into the water splashing lake water all over Qykerth who snapped out of his enchanted state. He looked down at the jellies in his hand, then at the merman, who popped out of the water and saw towards him.

The merman stopped between Qykerth’s legs again and picked out one of the jellies and stuffed it in his mouth. Going for the third one, Qykerth raised his hand away from the merman, who paused when he saw that the jellies moved then tried reaching for it again but it was moved again.

The merman turned in the water and looked up at Qykerth who was staring at him with a raised brow and a frown, “Why won’t you give it to me?” The merman asked but all Qykerth heard was a piercing screech that made him cover his ears.

Seeing that the jellies were now where he could reach it, he pulled Qykerth’s hand down and started picking off the jellies stuffing them in his mouth while he ate them one by one.

One of the nearby fairies who heard the screech came over and saw this scene. He flew up to Qykerth and asked, “Big brother, did Lancer not warn you about the sea prince?”

Qykerth and the prince looked at the fairy who spoke and before something was said, the prince dragged Qykerth down into the water and swam away with him.

Qykerth who was suddenly kidnapped was taken aback and just when he realized that he couldn’t breathe, they stopped moving. His hand flew to his mouth and nose covering it. The prince let go of him and dug into a bush of seaweed; seeing that the prince was busy Qykerth quickly made to swim back, but was cut off by the prince’s quick movements that stopped right in front of him.

The two stared at each other and just like before, Qykerth froze when their eyes met giving the prince the opportunity to shove the seaweed into his mouth and made him chew it. After a few seconds, gills formed on his neck and he could breathe.

The prince rubbed his eyes and swam away slowly, holding hands with Qykerth. Qykerth who was no longer hypnotized had a deep frown on his face, this prince was very strong and he didn’t have the power to pull away, luckily for him, the scales on his skin was protecting him from the cold lake water.

The prince turned his head to look back at Qykerth and smiled, this creature was very curious about the world under water seeing that he kept looking around but what the prince didn’t know was that he was actually looking for a way to escape him.

The two travelled quite the distance and came to an underwater cave. Qykerth could feel that the deeper they went the colder it got but this prince was completely bare, couldn’t he feel the cold?

The prince suddenly stopped and looked at Qykerth, he pointed up making Qykerth take a look and he saw light coming from above. The two swam up and when they broke through the surface of the water Qykerth couldn’t hide his astonishment. They were still within the lake, but the air within this cave and Qykerth could feel spiritual energy flowing about within the air.

There were mountains of these white boulder-like pearls which were giving off the spiritual energies that the two of them felt. Qykerth turned to look at the prince and asked, “Why have you brought me here?”

The prince looked at Qykerth and smiled as he thought, ‘Does he not know I don’t understand?’

Thinking it over, the prince opened his mouth and the same piercing screech sounded again making Qykerth block his ears. The prince shook his head, amused after he closed his mouth, then swam over to the edge of the barrier and hoisted himself up out of the water.

Sitting on his tail, he brushed his hair over his right shoulder, then looked at Qykerth and saw that he was entranced with his eyes trained on his tail.

Qykerth was mesmerized by the prince’s beauty; his tail was as clear as water that shimmered with a reflection of the rainbow that sparkled. His fins were iridescent with rainbow reflections that shone a different colour from different angles when you looked at it.

His skin was a pale shade of green, his nails as sharp as claws and his teeth were sharp as well, but he did not look like a monster or a creature that was capable of killing someone. His pale green skin partnered with his jewel like eyes, long white hair and accents of the rainbow, he was truly a beauty.

Qykerth’s eyes widened when he suddenly noticed the crown cover in shells on the prince’s forehead with all the pearls decorating his face like a frame and that were at his hips as well.

Swimming towards the prince, he cupped his face and asked, “Why are you so beautiful?”

The prince was taken aback and blushed, heat radiated off Qykerth and being touched by him was really unexpected but it did not hurt.

Grabbing his hand, the prince pulled him up out of the water to sit beside him, using his powers, he summoned the water and used it to lift up one of the pearls and brought it over placing it on Qykerth’s lap, ‘This will help you get stronger,’ he said to himself then laid himself against a pearl boulder and cultivated with his eyes closed.

Qykerth watched the prince for some time in amazement, then followed his lead. His body instantly sucked in all the spiritual energy turning the pearl colourless which then turned to dust.

Without knowing it, Qykerth was taught how to cultivate from the prince who was just looking for someone to keep him company – someone who wasn’t a guardian, warrior or his mentor.

The prince of Anaeco was always curious about the outside world ever since a foreigner came to visit the world of Anaeco when he was younger, but he could never because he was the prince, but luckily, he recently found a treasure that made a clone of him that he could control where ever he was. But he was currently in ‘closed cultivation’ so no one would disturb him even if they wanted to – so him being here, meeting this creature, fate?

The prince opened his eyes and looked at Qykerth, a strange thought came to his mind that made him smile, a pink tint awashed his cheeks but that can all wait for another time.
