Find a bride

Contract Marriage

Chapter one

I sat in the comfort of my car, plugging in my ear pod. I tuned in to listen to my favorite musician. Taking the iPad which lay lazily beside me, I turned it on to check my work schedule for the day.

The driver drove down into the company's parking lot while the security men rushed to open the door for me, getting down from the car I walked hastily to the elevator ignoring all greetings I got from my employees.

I walked towards my office gracefully with a frown on my face, immediately my secretary sighted she hurriedly left her table and rushed towards me

"Should I brew your coffee right now?" She asked while breathing heavily.

"Not now. What are my schedules for the day?" I asked turning the doorknob to the office.

"You have a meeting with the Green's empire at noon and…"

I cut her speech.

"Just go straight to the important ones and stop being a dummy!" I growled, loosening my tie a little bit while sinking down into my chair.

"You will be having a meeting with the board's members in the next forty-five minutes, sir,"

"And you are just telling me that now huh?" hitting my hand on the table shattering some files that were neatly arranged on it and making them fly away towards the west region.

"Uhmmm sir I..t...n...o…" she said stuttering while closing the files in her hands tightly to her chest

"Prepare all the files that need my attention within twenty minutes and send in my coffee immediately," I explained, sounding as dangerous as ever sending cold chills down her spine as she hurriedly left the office in fear.

I turned my system on to check some emails Jace sent to me last night concerning the contracts we're working on presently while cross-checking some of the files on my table before sending them to the various office that needed to take action on them, picking up the telecom phone on the table I called the auditing team.

"Send in the new accounts you verified through emails immediately," without waiting for their response I hung up immediately.

***Auditing team***

Everybody bumped into each other while trying to process and coupled what their boss required of them. They knew better not to delay him else they're all gone. The audit manager could be seen running helter-skelter while drops of sweat lined on his forehead. He looks so worn out and equally stressed but who he is to complain when he's not ready to lose his only livelihood?

"Have the accounting department sent those previous accounts we asked for?" Mr. Lewis, the auditing manager asked the secretary while going through some files on his table, despite the fact that the room is well-ventilated and the air conditioner was on his whole body was covered in sweat, fingers is at war presently with the keyboards as everyone is busy correcting one errors or the other.

"Yes, they've sent it but the accounts aren't corresponding with our total estimations,"

"And whose fault is that Annie?" The man who seemed to be worn out and provoked spoke out of anger, his veins almost poking out while his eyes were bulging out of their sockets.

The lady seemed not shaken as she stood her ground and spoke calmly as ever.

"Both parties are faulty because we worked on the previous accounts we have with us not knowing they haven't done their overall calculations, sir,"

"Just go and rectify the faults and send it to my table for reviews within thirty minutes,"

With a wave of his hand, the lady walked out of the office.

Walking out of the meeting hall exhausted, I moved into my office to continue the day's work. I checked my emails to see if the auditing team had sent what I asked to me but I couldn't find any message from them, folding my fist together in anger, I called the team manager once again.

"What the hell is delaying the mail?" I thundered.

"It will be sent to you immediately sir,"

"If I drop this call and I didn't receive the mail from your team, consider yourself and your team fired immediately," with that I dropped the call immediately.

I swirled my chair backward if I'm too lenient with all these people working under me, they did take me as a fool that's why I made sure I installed fear in all my workers both at home and here in the office none of them dare look me in the eyes nor question my order or else they will be fired with immediate effects.

A soft knock came on my door jolting me out of my thoughts.

  "Come in," Aryan muttered dryly.

"I just received a message concerning the contracts we were pursuing that you aren't qualified to win the contract," my manager said while bowing his head a little.

"And what makes me disqualified? Did I provide all the qualifications needed huh?"

Anger could be seen written vividly on Aryan's face, he looks so displeased with the news he heard just now dampening his mood which also aggravated his anger.

"According to the information sent to me you aren't qualified because you aren't married, the only way for you to be qualified is when you're married."

If a tester is to be brought to the room now to check the temperature it might actually blow off, Aryan gnashed his teeth together folding the piece of paper in his hand imagining it to be James' neck because he knows the only person behind this is new rule is no one except James his rival.

"That motherfucker!" he cursed under his breath.

"Is there any way around this new rule?"

"Not at all; I guessed it's a new challenge James wants to dare you to."

"Fuck you, bastard!" Aryan yelled, throwing the frame on his table across the room, making it hit the wall, greatly shattering the glass used as a picture cover all over the floor.

The secretary hurriedly entered the office to check what was going on to make her boss look as furious as ever.

Both workers looked at each other than their boss but a single glare from their boss made them scammed out of the office.

Aryan picked up his phone to call his girlfriend and have one or two words with her.

"Hello_ baby," came in the sweetest and angelic voice which made Aryan fall deeply for her all over again.

"Hiiiiiiiiiii," he replied dryly, not sure of her response to what he's gonna ask her.

"What's wrong babe? Why do you sound so off like this?" she asked with worries written all over her voice.

"Do you remember the contract I told you I was pursuing recently?"

"Yes I do and what about it," she asked urging him to go further

"The new rules of the contract imply that I can only be qualified for the contract if I'm married and you know what this contract really means to me."

"So what are you implying now?"

"You know what I'm talking about Jessie."

"Aryan, you and I know this can't work out now; it'll ruin my career and you fucking know that… see all I have to say is find your way out of that situation because I aren't getting married now because of one forsaking contract!" she replied harshly, almost screaming her lungs out on the phone.

  "But Jessie…"

"If you've nothing else to say to me, have a wonderful day then," she hung up the phone.
