Colliding

William Morris sat in a busy café, alone. He was expecting his partner Allan any minute. Allan was running late as usual and William wished that this time it would be because he had a lead on the case. However, as soon as Allan entered the café, looking somewhat dishevelled and walking with a slight limp, William lost all his hope. Allan walked over to him and took a seat opposite to him.

“You look like you have been outsmarted once again,” William said with disappointment.

“I could use some food, I am starving,” Allan grunted easing himself in the chair.

After a short while, a waitress approached and the two men ordered some food.

“So?” William asked.

“Well, they left no clue. I got the wrong person. They had charmed her into playing a decoy and I fell for it. The next thing I know is they had disappeared into thin air.” Allan explained.

“Damn, we really need to do something about this. The bosses are not going to like this,” William said with obvious irritation.
