Carlos' POV

I stood frozen, the healer's words echoing through my skull like a death knell.

"She's been poisoned."

My heart didn't just drop—it plummeted straight through the floor. My hands clenched into fists so tight my knuckles cracked, but I barely felt it. All I could see was Nora lying pale and motionless on Malia's examination bed, her breathing so shallow I had to watch her chest carefully to make sure it was still moving.

Her lips had a faint blue tinge that made my stomach lurch.

"Poisoned," I repeated, the word tasting like acid on my tongue.

Malia's voice seemed to come from very far away. "She's stable for now, but the substance in her system is not natural. It's something I've never encountered before. I need to run extensive tests to determine exactly what it is and how to counteract it."

My jaw locked so tight I thought my teeth might shatter. "Do it. Use whatever you need. Spare nothing. Cost is not a f

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    A Desperate Situation

NORAEverything hurt in ways I never knew were possible. My head felt like someone had split it open with an axe, then filled the cracks with molten lead. Each throb sent waves of nausea rolling through me, making the room spin even with my eyes closed. My limbs had turned to concrete—impossibly heavy, foreign things that no longer seemed to belong to me. Even the simple act of breathing had become a monumental effort. Every shallow inhale felt like I was drowning in thick honey, and each exhale escaped my lips with a soft whimper of pain I couldn't suppress. My skin was on fire and freezing at the same time. Sweat soaked through my nightgown, plastering the fabric to my clammy flesh, but I couldn't stop shivering. The sheets beneath me were damp and twisted from my restless turning, and every small movement sent lightning bolts of agony shooting through my body. This wasn't just being sick. This was my body systematically shutting down, piec

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    A Shocking Connection

NORAThe wooden floorboards creaked beneath my boots as I paced the narrow hallway outside the healer's hut. Back and forth, back and forth—like a caged wolf desperate for release. My mind wouldn't stop churning, wouldn't let me rest for even a moment. The ancient journal I'd discovered in that godforsaken dungeon had done more than just provide clues about the antidote we so desperately needed. It had ripped open old wounds I thought had healed. Elena.I pressed my palm against the cool wall, trying to center myself. The memories came flooding back anyway—her voice echoing through the pack house, always so sure of herself, so convinced she knew what was best for everyone. I remembered the day I'd ordered her locked away, the way her eyes had burned with hatred and something else. Something that looked almost like pity."You'll understand someday, Carlos," she'd whispered as the guards dragged her toward the dungeons. "When love isn't enough

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    Nora's Memories

Nora's POVI was dying. The thought hit me as I stared blanklyat the ceiling. My hands shook as I gripped the sheets, and every breath felt like I was drowning from the inside. But that wasn't the worst part. The worst part was the silence. My hand slid over my belly, pressing gently where I should have felt movement. "Come on, baby," I whispered. "Just one kick. Please."Nothing.The stillness was so complete it made my chest tight with panic. I pressed harder, willing our child to respond, to give me any sign that they were still fighting."Please don't leave me," I breathed. The room spun when I tried to sit up. Sweat beaded on my forehead despite the chill that settled into my bones. I felt like I was coming apart, piece by piece.Think, Nora. What did you miss?Carlos kept asking me to remember, to dig deeper into the days before I collapsed. At first, I remembered nothing. J

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    Questioning the Pack

Carlos' POVI couldn't stand still. My boots wore a path in the dirt as I paced the training grounds, watching my pack go about their morning routines. Sparring. Laughing. Acting like nothing was wrong. But everything was wrong.Someone there had tried to kill my mate. Someone I had shared meals with, trusted with my life, called family. The thought made my wolf snarl beneath my skin."Alpha?"I turned. One of the guards, approached with a tablet in his hands. "The list you requested."Every pack member who had had access to the main house in the past week. Every wolf who had worked in the kitchens, cleaned the halls, delivered supplies. A handful names.Too many."Set up interviews in the council hall," I told him. "One by one. No exceptions.""All of them?""Every. Single. One."Marcus nodded and walked away. I could feel the pack's eyes on me, sensed their confusion an

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess     Memories of Sorcerer Elena

Nora's POVThe silence in the room was suffocating.I shifted against the pillows, trying to find a position that didn't make everything ache. My hand found its way to my stomach again—a habit I couldn't seem to break. Each time I touched the spot where our baby was growing, I remembered how close we had come to losing everything.Elena.The name tasted like poison on my tongue.I closed my eyes and she was there, clear as if she had never died. Dark hair pinned in that perfect twist. Red lips that had smiled while planning destruction. And those eyes—God, those eyes had been like looking into winter itself."Magic should never be wasted on kindness, dear girl."Her voice echoed in my memory, soft and cultured and completely wrong. "Power is meant to bend the world."I always knew that Elena was not good at all. She was nothing but naf news. The door opened. Carlos stepped in carrying a

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    Worried Sick

Nora's POVI couldn't breathe. The bed beneath me felt cold despite the warm blankets Carlos kept tucking around me. My hands wouldn't stop shaking as I pressed them against my stomach, protecting what might already have been lost."Stop thinking like that," I whispered to myself, but the words felt hollow. The door creaked. Carlos stepped in, carrying a glass of water he set on the nightstand without a word. He had been doing this for hours—bringing me things I didn't need, checking on me every few minutes like I might disappear."You're hovering," I told him."I'm caring." His jaw tightened. "There's a difference."I watched him pace to the window, then back to the bed, his hands clenched at his sides. The muscle in his cheek ticked like it always did when he was fighting his wolf."Carlos."He stopped. Looked at me with those dark eyes that saw too much."Sit. Please."He hesitated,
