Victoria’s POV “I can’t believe you’re alive.” I wept and hugged my grandmother with relief. She beamed at me. It had not taken us too long to arrive back at Zane’s. Victoria’s POV I blinked a few times, wondering if I had heard Zane correctly. “They were declaring war on Alex’s pack and searching for me?” This wasn’t going to end well. I decided I needed to sort this out myself, once and for all. I could not let Alex’s pack suffer because of me. “Victoria, don’t do anything rash; you are perfectly safe here. They will never even know this place exists. They won’t find you.” He started to say, but I wasn’t listening. Alex’s POV I don’t know what it was, but something about the smell had me going deeper into that forest. I was so confused because it was not the same scent that reminded me of Eliza. Zane had taken Eliza down to the cell to calm down while we decided what to do next, but I was shocked to see two familiar faces standing a few feet away from me. Alice and Luna were standing staring at me with smirks on their faces. They were dressed in black, and then Alpha Evan's shadow appeared behind them. They parted to make way for him and did not take their eyes off of me. “Is there a reason why they are here?” Zane appeared by my side and pointed their way rudely, causing me to stifle a burst of laughter. Eliza wanted to sacrifice herself for her family. I was unsure if this was some trick, but she seemed emotional and upset. Victoria’s POV In a minute, the whole fire was put out, and I took a deep breath. Looking over my shoulder, I saw Zane gazing ahead at the pack house with his grandfather beside him. They were deep in conversation, and I knew it was them that had used a powerful spell to put the fire out. Alex came rushing out all red-faced. “Thank you. You saved my pack.” He rushed to Zane and Jacob and fell to his knees, thanking them repeatedly. “Maybe you will see that your prisoners are freed.” I felt sick as a horrible feeling washed right over me.
