Keira’s POV

“We’ve finally received word from the warriors!” Someone shouts as they burst through the doors of the dining hall.

Shepherd and I standup, leaving our half eaten breakfasts behind, and head to my mother’s office. I knock on the door.

“Come in.” She calls out. We walk in and see her sitting at her desk, still reading a piece of white paper.

“I’m guessing you are here about this?” She says, pulling her glasses down from her nose and holding up the paper in her hands.

“I’m not too keen on showing it to your friend, but here.” She holds it out to me. I walk over and take it from her. I start to read it and I’m shocked. Dawson killed Alpha Thorin in a challenge. I can’t believe it. My hand covers my mouth in shock. I feel a hand rubbing my back, it’s Shepard.
