ANOTHER STACK OF BOOKS

Ophelia flattered her eyes open to stare at the plain white ceiling. The breeze from the open window sent chills down her spine despite her blanket. She had no memory of falling asleep, let alone covering herself.

‘It must have been Sarah,’ she thought as she brought her hands from underneath the blanket to place them on top of her forehead. She glanced to the window side.

She was startled. The curtains flattering by the breeze almost gave her a heart attack. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves. Something about the situation moved a memory inside of her.

‘If Luke was here he would have laughed at my frail heart,’ she thought, not realizing the grin that cracked on her lips.

She held her gaze on the window, catching glimpses of the moon and night sky when the curtains parted. She started recalling the last conversation she had before falling asleep.
