THE WOLVES OF WINTER

‘Will I be staying long enough to need that?’ A voice echoed inside of her, and she couldn’t help but take give it a thought. After all, she decided that she needed to return to the Crescent. She needed to see things with her own eyes, again. But this time, her mind won’t be absent or fogged. This time she’ll be present and awake. If there was hurt waiting for her within the ruins of what she called home, then so be it.

At least, she would be able to grieve them probably. Perhaps, even seek out those who might have gotten away, like her. Deep down, there was an instinct telling her the salvation she sought, was among the remains of what was once home. Amid the rubble of the once great and peaceful land. The call was hard to ignore, even the incomplete wolf within her was not at ease.

What happened after that was a mystery to her. Would she return here again and settle? Or would she roam the woods alone like a rogue wolf? She couldn’t say, and she tried not to think about it. It was
