Chapter One | Uncle Alessandro
Marianne I stared at the photograph in my mother’s hand, my brows pulling together. The man in the image looked like sin wrapped in an expensive black suit — tall, broad-shouldered, with long sleek black hair pushed back from a dangerously handsome face. His eyes were dark, piercing, like he could see through the camera and straight into whoever was looking. “Who is that?” I asked. Mom didn’t answer right away. She just kept smiling, a strange, dreamy look on her face that made my stomach twist. “That,” she finally said, her voice soft, “is your Uncle Alessandro.” I blinked. “My what?” She turned the phone toward me again, almost reverently. “Your father’s younger brother. He’s been in Italy for years. But he’s coming here soon.” I let out a sharp, disbelieving laugh. “We’ve never heard a word about him. Not once. And now, two weeks after Dad dies, he suddenly wants to play family?” Mom’s cheeks flushed deeper. “He’s very rich, Marianne. Powerful. He asked about you specifically.” The words landed like ice in my chest. I stepped back, shaking my head. “I don’t care how rich he is. Where was he when Dad was rotting in that hospital bed? When we were drowning in medical bills?” I grabbed my jacket, desperate to escape the conversation. I had piano lessons tonight, then a long shift at the store. Anything to avoid this. “Marianne,” Mom called after me, her voice taking on that familiar tone. “Alessandro had nothing to do with your father’s choices. He wasn’t the one who drank and gambled away our lives.” I froze at the door, my fingers tightening on the handle. The memory of Dad’s frail hand in mine, his last weak whisper — Help me, Maria — flashed behind my eyes. I swallowed hard, refusing to cry in front of her. “You never loved him,” I said quietly, my voice cracking. “Even when he was alive, you were always looking for something better. Someone richer and dangerous.” She didn’t deny it. Instead, she looked back down at the photo on her phone with something close to hunger. “Alessandro Santiago,” she murmured, almost to herself. “Don of the Black Titans. The most powerful man on this coast now. Handsome. Ruthless. Loaded.” Her eyes sparkled. “If I had chosen him instead of your father… we wouldn’t be in this mess.” I turned around slowly, staring at her like she’d lost her mind. “Mom… are you serious right now?” She stepped closer, placing her hands on my shoulders. Her voice dropped to a whisper, almost giddy. “I’m in love, baby. Can you blame me?” I shrugged her hands off, my heart pounding with a mix of anger, grief, and something dangerously close to unease. “You’re delusional,” I muttered, heading for the door. “Stay away from that man. And keep him away from me.” My brows furrowed in disappointment. I didn’t want to hear another word. Something was seriously wrong with my mother, and if she couldn’t pull herself together, I wasn’t going to do it for her. Without another glance, I stormed out of the house, heading straight for Mrs. Laurent’s studio. The walk helped clear my head, but only a little. “Evening, Mrs. Laurent. Sorry I’m late,” I said, forcing a small smile. “Family shenanigans.” The older woman patted my shoulder gently. “I understand, dear. You can take a break if you need to.” I shook my head. “I really need this today.” She didn’t push. After a quick cheek squeeze and a warm smile, she left me alone in the music room. “I’ll be in the nursery. Take your time.” The moment my fingers touched the keys, the rest of the world faded. Music had always been my escape. For a little while, I could forget my father’s cold hand in the hospital, my mother’s strange obsession, and the mysterious uncle who had suddenly decided to appear now that Dad was gone. But even as I played, flashes of that photo kept invading my mind. Alessandro Santiago. Long dark hair, sharp jaw, with eyes that looked like they could destroy kingdoms. Why now? I thought bitterly. Where was he when we needed help? I pushed the thoughts away and lost myself in the music for the next hour and a half. By the time I arrived at the corner store for my night shift, I was already drained. Five long hours of fake smiles, wiping shelves, and ringing up customers followed. Every time my father’s face flashed in my mind, my chest tightened. I fought back the tears. I couldn’t afford to fall apart — this job was the only thing keeping us off the street. Mom had no income, and I refused to depend on her. At 9 PM, I finally clocked out, legs aching and heart heavier than when I’d started. The walk home felt endless. I kept hoping for a miracle — maybe a friend’s couch to crash on — but I knew I’d have to face my mother again. She was probably still drooling over that damn photo. The moment I stepped inside, the rich aroma of boiling soup hit me making me frown. Mom never cooked dinner. That was always my job. I was heading toward the kitchen when a firm knock sounded on the door. My steps slowed. We rarely got visitors this late. Heart beating faster, I walked to the door and pulled it open. My breath caught sharply in my throat when I saw who it was. He stood there like he owned the night itself. Tall. Broad. Impossibly handsome in a black tailored coat that probably cost more than our rent. Long, sleek black hair brushed back from his face, a few strands falling forward. His eyes — dark, intense, and far too knowing — locked onto me immediately. “Marianne,” he said, his voice low and smooth, like velvet dragged over gravel. My breath caught in my chest. He knew my name. Alessandro Santiago — my uncle, the Don — took one step inside, the door clicking shut behind him with terrifying finality. His gaze slowly dragged over me, assessing, almost… hungry. “I’ve waited a long time to meet you,” he murmured, the corner of his mouth tilting up. “You look even more beautiful than your pictures.” My pulse thundered in my ears, every instinct screaming at me to run. But my feet stayed rooted to the floor as Don Alessandro took another step closer, his eyes never leaving mine.Chapter Eleven | Never Disobey DaddyMarianneMy hands moved to the back of my dress, my fingers pulling down the zipper. The moment the dress loosened and my breasts spilled out, his mouth latched onto them. He sucked hard on one nipple while his hand squeezed the other, rough and greedy.“I think I’m going too soft on you. That’s why you’ve decided to disobey, isn’t it?”“N… no,” I mumbled through silent moans as his tongue rolled over my nipples causing heat to shoot straight down my stomach even though I didn’t want it to. He helped me out of the dress, pulling everything off until I was left in just my panties. Then he lifted my thighs, pressing my back against the wall as his lips came down on my neck, biting to leave a mark. His hands squeezed my breasts, kneading them like dough. As much as I didn’t want to admit it, I wouldn’t lie that I didn’t like it. And that was what made me angry. Why did I always feel this way when he touched me? Why did my body keep reacting like thi
Chapter Ten | Take Off Your clothes MarianneI gasped in shock when I turned around to see Alessandro standing behind me. His expression was dark, his eyes turning red with anger. My heart jumped so hard I thought it might come out of my chest. I hadn’t heard him come up behind me at all. One second I was alone in the hallway trying to find my way, and the next he was right there, looking at me like he wanted to kill me.“I thought i told you not to leave” he said through gritted teeth.I swallowed, sweat forming on my forehead now as my hands started shaking. I could feel the heat of his anger rolling off him. “I was just looking for the bathroom.”“That’s not the way to the bathroom. You were trying to run away, weren’t you?” He growled, gripping my wrist as he pulled me closer, his fingers digging into my skin leaving marks. I stumbled forward until my chest almost touched his. Up close his eyes looked even darker, like there was no softness left in them at all.“I..I..I was loo
Chapter Nine | A Chance To Escape. MarianneThe green dress Alessandro had chosen for me was tighter than anything I normally wore. And it followed the shape of my body without apology. When I walked into the hallway that morning, he looked at me from head to toe and gave a short nod, as if I had passed some test.“I want you tostay close to me,” he said while we walked to the car. “You won’t wander or speak to anyone unless I’m beside you. Do you understand?”“Yes.” I nodded, holding into his arm. Then the drive to the city began. Alessandro spent most of it on the phone, speaking in low, clipped Italian. When we finally stopped in front of a private club with dark windows and two men in suits standing at the door, my stomach tightened. Was this where th party was taking place? Inside, music boomed out loud, blaring through the speakers. I saw men in tailored jackets standing in small groups and a few women moving between them dressed in elegant dresses, their smiles careful and
Chapter Eight | Don’t thank me yet Marianne I spent most of the afternoon in the same chair near the window of his study. Alessandro worked without looking at me much. He took three phone calls in Italian, signed several papers, and spoke to a man who came in briefly to deliver a work folder. Watching him like that made something uncomfortable settle in my stomach. This wasn’t the man who had forced me to my knees the night before. This was the Don. The one who ran things. The one other men listened to without even trying to question. When the last visitor left, Alessandro closed the folder in front of him and finally looked at me. “You have been quiet, what’s wrong?” he asked raising a brow. “I was told to sit here. So I sat.” I shrugged nonchalantly. He leaned back in his chair, chuckling. “Come here.” I stayed where I was for a few seconds, before walking over to his desk. He pointed to the space beside his chair and I scoffed, moving closer. “I have a meeting in
Chapter Seven | What Are You Going To Do? MarianneI stayed on the floor long after he finished watching me eat, my jaw aching. My knees hurt real bad and the taste of him still wouldn’t leave my tongue no matter how many times I swallowed. Alessandro remained on the edge of the bedsrill watching me silently. And when he finally stood, he walked to the bathroom and came back with a cloth. He didn’t ask for permission before tilting my face up and wiping my mouth and chin with slow, careful movements. The gentleness felt worse than if he had been rough. It made the shame in my chest more stinging. “Get up,” he said.My legs shook when I rose. He guided me to the bathroom, turned on the shower, and waited for me . I stepped under the water still wearing the nightdress that clung to my body like a second skin.He watched me the entire time, his arms crossed and hsi expression unreadable. When I finished, he handed me a towel and a black shirt that clearly belonged to him. When I put
Chapter Six| I'll Make You Choke On My CockMarianneI couldn’t stop thinking about what he said last night. The way he looked at me when he said I was his. The way my body reacted even when my mind was screaming no. I woke up early, my eyes swollen from crying. The room felt like a prison even though it was beautiful and I tried the door again but it was still locked. Of course, it would be. I paced around for hours, my father’s face kept coming to my mind. How could he sign that paper? How could he give me to his brother like I was nothing? The anger burned like fire in my chest but underneath it, something else was growing. A strange yearning I hated myself for feeling. When Alessandro touched my chin, when he whispered those words, my skin tingled. My heart had raced and I wanted to hate him more for that. The door finally opened in the afternoon, it was a servant bringing in food again. I still didn’t eat because I was too angry and scared, confused also. When the door opened a
