Chapter 3

I look at myself in the mirror. I'm wearing a purple crop top, black leggings with a gold line on the outside of my legs, and the SD's leather jacket.

"Kat! I swear to god, you've been there for an hour!"

I roll my eyes. Scout can be dramatic sometimes. Checking myself for the last time, I quickly grab my phone and exit my room—me and Kelly's room.

"Have some patience will ya? It takes time to look good. Besides, it's only been 15 minutes," I replied, walking out.

As soon as I walked out, I saw his eyes widen.

"What's wrong?" I blurted out.

"That crop top is too revealing and that legging is too small for your size, and you're asking me what's wrong?"

I roll my eyes, "Oh, shut up, they're perfect. You're just jealous that I look twice as good as you." I start walking towards the lift, crossing my arms.

"Afraid girls wouldn't spare you a glance, Scoutie?" I cooed.

He quickly catches up to me. "No, I'm not."

"No you don't look as good as me?"

"No, not that," he groans.

"Then?" I press the button next to the lift and turn around, facing him.

"No I'm not jealous," he huffed.

"Sure you're not."

"Kat, seriously, go get changed." He's using that serious tone again.

"No I won't, I can wear whatever I want, you're not my mom, not my dad, not my boyfriend, nor my brother. Don't talk to me like that." I see his face falter when I mentioned he's not my boyfriend.

I almost feel bad for saying that, but then he cut me off, "as far as I know, you put me as 'mom' in your contact."

The scowl is now back on my face, "whatever." I step into the lift followed by Scout.

The whole way down, Scout was quiet. I take it he won't complain about my outfit again.

Today, we're meeting with one of the ID agents who is assigned to confirm our arrival and to file our mission this time.

When we stepped out, Kelly, Johan, and Daren immediately surround us. They explain shortly about today's schedule before we get in the car.

Scout and I are in the same car with Johan as our driver, while Kelly and Daren are in the other car. The whole car ride we sing along to the song from the radio. Even Johan sings along when he's sure no one is following us.

If Kelly were here, she's sure as hell gonna hit us on your heads. She's too serious, sometimes it's annoying.

Half an hour later, we are entering a huge building of La Reu's Inc. Well, it's not just a cover building, La Reu also has some legal business such as hotels and banks. But his most income is from selling weapons to other organizations, and of course, he keeps the best for himself and his organization.

If you noticed, I used the term 'he' for La Reu. Well, that's because no one knows how La Reu looks like. 'He' only talks to the 4 leaders—leaders from each division—in meetings. But, from Kelly—who gets it from her father—La Reu never goes to the meeting himself, he always appears on a blank purple screen and uses a voice changer.

Then again, no one knows why.

Back to the story, as we enter the lobby, everyone recognizes our leather jacket and the division we're from, but they chose to ignore us.

We walked straight into the elevator, and soon the elevator is full with 5 AD agents and 2 SD agents. Instead of going up, we're going down. We all wait patiently until we reached the B7 floor.

The floor isn't that spacious, in fact, it's quite small. The second you stepped out of the basement, you could immediately see the whole basement. There are not many things there only a desk with a chair, a bookshelf that's full of books, and a television on the wall.

I quickly stepped forward, "SD agent, Katarina Clyde, code Eagle Team."

"SD agent, Scout Kipper, code Cayote Team."

"AD agent, Kelly Crawford, code Cheetah Team."

"AD agent, Johan Marshall, code Kangaroo Team."

"SD agent, Britt Preston, code Cheetah Team."

"AD agent, Minnie Lopez, code Eagle Team."

"AD agent, Hade Fox, code Eagle Team."

I turn my head quickly to 'Hade'. Nice try, you impostor.

Scout was the first to attack him. He threw a few punches that were blocked by 'Hade'. I quickly study his steps, in 5 seconds I learned his fighting pattern.

Hade threw a punch at Scout and I decided to step into the fight.

Without any hesitation I threw my right fist at him, he blocked, expected. Next, I threw my right fist, he dodged, expected. I threw my right fist at him again, he was supposed to block, if only it weren't a distraction. My left feet quickly make contact with the back of his knee, he fell forward, expected.

The whole AD agent was gathered around us, watching. And that made me wonder, isn't it their job is to protect us at all cost?

Britt and Johan quickly tied Hade's arms before he gets a chance to get up.

"H-how?" He asked.

"Your code," I start.

"it was supposed to be 'rat'," Johan snickers.

"The number of letters in name of the animal you chooses has to be the same number of letters in your last name," Finish Minnie, smirking.

"But nice try though," Johan smirked.

"Good job," says a voice that clearly is from a voice changer. We all look back to the television, the screen is now purple. "You may enter, liberos meos."

I smile proudly, watching the wall behind the desk slowly opens to a tunnel. Still smiling, I enter the tunnel behind Kelly and Britt. I was so proud of myself after taking down Hade, that I didn't notice Scout was tense ever since La Reu spoke.
